I got my hair cut and Dvir and it was a great cut. My hair was really long, probably cut off 8+ inches and Carrie styled and cut it exactly the way I wanted it. She followed any directions I had on how I usually wear and dry my hair. She did a really good job, on the cut alone I would give 5 stars easily. Only subtracted a star because it is super pricey. Definitely worth it because I got a significant cut but when I wanted to get a trim couple months later it was still going to be around $ 80 and for me thats a little steep. But if you have the cash to spend, I would definitely go back to Dvir.

The ideal salon for me. Naho is an exceptional stylist. Very talented, very smart, concentrates intently when I’m describing what I want. She’s got a remarkable knack for understanding what I’m asking for and with enormous attention to detail, delivers exactly the haircut I want, time after time. Different lengths and cuts, different shades, occasional highlights(she’s a fabulous colorist as well) and believe me, I’m picky about my hair, which is wavy and tends to misbehave easily when it’s not cut well. I’ve been to a fairly wide spectrum of salons all over Manhattan(I live there) and never developed much loyalty to a stylist. I went to Dvir because a friend(with great hair) recommended Naho. Well worth the trip(takes me a little over an hour) to feel fantastic about my hair, and as a bonus, the atmosphere is lovely — a mellow, gracious and pretty place to be. The prices are certainly reasonable, even more so for a mega-talented stylist at a higher-end salon.

I’m starting to learn that scheduling services after work on weekdays is not a good idea. I scheduled an appointment for a haircut for 7pm on a Wednesday and I could tell that the stylist was ready to get out of there. This was my first time going to Dvir but my husband gets his hair cut there and I like how it looks every time he goes. I went there with the idea of coming out with a new look. I had long hair and made the decision to go with a medium haircut. While the haircut was good, the styling was so old-fashioned that all I wanted to do was go home and fix it myself… which is exactly what I did. The stylist kept telling me that I have to adjust my expectations now that I have shorter hair. Not quite the feeling that one seeks from a hair cut! I wanted to come out of the salon feeling amazing, but instead I came out kind of regretting my decision to cut my hair. Not sure if I will be back.

I went to Dvir during my lunch, and was able to get a walk-in appointment right away. The salon was clean and inviting — they offered me tea, and got to me quickly. The woman who washed my hair gave me a relaxing head massage, and then Naho, my hair stylist, did a wonderful job with my hair cut. I went in knowing only that I wanted my hair a bit shorter and fuller, and she knew just what to do.

The salon on Franklin Street is stylish, modern and cozy. Team very friendly. My hair was cut by Serpil, and she did a great job. She was trained in Europe and has great technique and skill, I highly recommend her.

Ozzie knows how to cut my hair and does a great job EVERY time– especially with the blow outs afterwards! I’m always happy with the results, and I am paranoid about getting haircuts. The salon itself regularly stays on scheduled appointment times, offer you a beverage when you come in, and always have some kind of small snack in the waiting area(like small cookies, or bread and butter, etc). Products in the salon are mostly Moroccan Oil but they also have many other brands. I love having this salon just a couple of blocks from me.

I ADOREDVIR. First of all, he’s a true artist who has honed impressive skills around the world, from Egypt and South Africa to England… It was so fun to visit with him about adventures in other cities and travels abroad. And: this seasoned artist GETSIT. I have very thick and unruly hair that has been botched and butchered a bazillion times – so I have to give my «spiel» to any new stylist about the fact that layers can make me look like a broom-head if done even a little bit wrong and that I cannot, in any way, shape or form, get some kind of bangs. Dvir won my heart when he said the words, «I wouldn’t LET you do that to your hair!» I immediately grinned and knew I was in expert hands. Not only did Dvir use the exact tools and techniques to smooth my mangy-mane(so few stylists understand just how to shape really thick strands so that a cut has fluidity and flow, not just a simple trim – ) but he is also quite intuitive… Dvir has a gentle soul and really cares about his clients. I felt as if I had not only walked out with a sleek style, but – through his genuine interest and inquisitive concern – my soul had been uplifted too. This salon is a Brooklyn gem. Our hood is lucky to catch this one, and my only regret about Dvir… is that it took me so long to find him.

So since my very favorable review I have had several more appointments at Dvir with worse and worse results and have decided to move on. The salon CONSTANTLY schedules clients on top of clients for their stylists which means that at each point of my visit(generally for a cut and half head highlight with a glaze) I am stuck waiting with a wet head in one of their chairs for up to half an hour. The last time I went I was there for no joke 4HOURS and at the end my stylist«didn’t have time» for my cut. I felt like I was being shuffled around like cattle. Never again.

Rescued by Naho’s amazing skills again. Her prices went up and no loyalty at Divr to longtime clients :(but she’s still worth it.

I was happy to discover a gem of a salon in my neighborhood on Franklin Ave. I’ve been to Agatha three times now and I’m happy overall. I would give 5 stars except last time in my color was off. She is very professional and a cool person. She also gave me a great cut. Clean new salon and prices are fair.

I have been going to Dvir on and off for the past several years. Most experiences have been good to great. However, I had the misfortune of a really bad haircut this past Saturday. I asked for long, side-swept bangs(specifically to avoid having hair in my eyes), long layers, and some face-framing angles all while keep as much length as possible. We decided on taking off no more than 1″. What I got were short bangs cut bluntly(completely in my eyes), uneven/bulky layers, and more than 2″ off in length. Right after the cut, I didn’t notice all of the unevenness, but it became highly evident after two-days. I’ve never been so bothered from a haircut, have never gone for a re-do in my life, but there was something so bad about this particular cut that I anticipated it not only being annoying to grow out, but punishingly annoying/ugly. I called Dvir today and they were able to fit me in for a re-do. I had the pleasure of working with Carrie, who was super understanding and walked me through what she was doing to correct the style at each step of the process. While there was obviously nothing she could do about the layers and bangs being too short, she certainly evened everything out and created a style I feel happy with. I will be happy to come back to see Carrie, or one of the other more seasoned stylists I’ve had in the past. Be wary of having them schedule you with just anyone!

Usually don’t write reviews for salons, but Carrie was amazingggg at cutting bobs! I have trouble styling my flimsy, fine Asian hair but after her attentive yet quick 25 minute cut, she suggested a few tips on how to blow dry my hair to make it look more voluminous! Wooooot! Got a few compliments on my way home too. Happy I dropped by!

If you need a good last minute cut in the neighborhood this is the salon for you. You’ll get a quality cut no matter who does it. They’re convenient, quick and friendly. You can enjoy a cappuccino while waiting for your stylist. Though the prices here are considered fair for the area, I will never get used to paying $ 70 for a cut and blow-dry. Hence the haircut is a rare occasion for me.

Full disclosure: I’m not really a salon goer(see pic), but my buddy works here, and I try to support. It’s a clean, well-lighted, and welcoming place, even for those of us who are not totally accustomed to a salon treatment. The receptionist is friendly, and this time I took her up on a cappuccino(though I read something in the reviews about beer… there’s always next time). I enjoyed the shampoo and head massage(who doesn’t?). Jill is fantastic: she’s open to discussing options, looking at photos, and adjusting as needed. She gave me a great cut and I always get compliments afterwards. And as a woman with short hair, I will continue to object to higher prices for women’s cuts than men’s(70 versus 40). Shouldn’t it be short hair versus long hair?

Amazing, amazing, amazing! After a terrible experience with ‘Ludlaw Blunt’ in the village, I found out about this spot(thanks to Unilocal:) and I couldn’t be more excited. I had a great cut by Jane(who is no longer there sadly) and 2 weeks ago Dvir did my ¾ highlights which were absolutely perfect. I’m very excited about discovering this place and very highly recommending it! Prices were very fair($ 120 for ¾ highlights, $ 60 a cut) Everybody there are super friendly and my fiancé had a cut there as well and loved it. Thanks Dvir!

I was a shaggy mess, lost a shear to spin me with. Then I stumbled upon Dvir salon. I was offered a beer or cold glass of water, I was given a divine scalp massage along with an invigorating shampooing of my hair(the staff even asked if the water was alright. I love that). Agatha gave me a dope ass haircut, and chatted about my weekend plans. I was going to a «Too Much Gin» party, so she insisted that I swipe some fresh mint and rosemary from their backyard, where they had an amazing mural painted by Peelander Yellow. All for a very acceptable price of $ 40. Awesome. i should have tipped more ;)

Agatha is a PRO in everything she does. I will only go to her for my highlights. All I have to do is give her an idea of what color I’d like and she takes it from there and I’ve never been disappointed! Go see Agatha. She gives great cuts and blow drys, too!
