Duane Reade

This is the worst, mall west pharmacy. They told me to wait 30 min which I did. When I came back, they haven’t even started on my prescription. I had to push and push. They are rude, slow and not helpful. The pharmacist is the slowest I have ever seen.

Galina, the pharmacy tech is the rudest person I’ve ever met in my life. You would think that in a position where you deal with customers all day, you’d be a little nicer or more helpful, but no. She’s very unhelpful.

Pharmacist was courteous. Clerk was somewhat rude. Treated me like as if I were an inconvenience. I said thank you and he replied. Ahem. Did the same to a customer before me

CLUELESS ON SUNBURN PRODUCTS:
I hate to write this negative review, but I walked into this Duane Reade on my way to work Monday after getting an extreme sunburn Sunday. There once was a time that a drug store would be a step down from a doctor in finding a remedy for non emergency ailments. I walked into the store where the front end cashier (the most helpful and very friendly) told me they didn’t carry many sun care items.(??? it’s summer!!) I asked for Solarcaine (a venerable sunburn remedy that has been around for years), but the entire staff was clueless. They directed me to the first aid items and showed me «Icy-​Hot» which would have sent me to the hospital if I put it on my sunburn, then to the skin care items where there was nothing for sunburn. (A staffer said all they had was Aloe Vera gel but it was sold out… they never heard of Solarcaine. The pharmacists (who I am sure are excellent percriptionists) were in earshot of my conversation with a worker wearing a lab coat, but kept quiet… so I left in pain.
Later I found Solarcaine and many other sunburn products at Shop-​Rite (a supermarket) to treat my sunburn.
I expected more from a drug store –but in this case Duane Reade was not the place to seek a solution for my medical needs. A big disappointment.
