My brunch was delish! The bacon is to die for, the chicken tasted like a combo of ‘chicken n waffles’ how did they do that?! Really giod experience! 4 stars because the service wasnt the best. The spot wasnt packed and the waiter forgot to give us menus even after giving us water. My friend and i excused him… maybe he had a late night! Lol i will definitely return

Mediocre is the best descriptor for food here. The broth with the mussels tasted like just tomatoes boiled in water and the attempt at kale salad was a soggy mess. A real disappointment.

So I came here for the happy hour special, I ordered a dozen oysters which were $ 1 each & a spiked lemonade which was $ 6& calamari ceviche which also had octopus for $ 7. The oysters were fresh but the lemonade was very tangy & bitter the ceviche was very very sour I don’t recommend them the vibe was whack the waiter was very attentive thou I personally won’t go back.

Terrible experience on a quiet Thursday night. Food took over 45 minutes– and not because the kitchen was slammed– and when it did arrive it was cold and largely inedible. Fried chicken was well done on the outside and raw inside. Mashed potatoes were meh and cold. Brussel sprouts were very greasy and oddly seasoned. Grilled fish was very very fishy and also seasoned badly. Kale was cold and tasted like it had been dressed with some sort of kerosine. The fries were the only thing I could eat and even they were really sub-par, cold and very undercooked. We were starving– and had been waiting a long time– and would have pretty much eaten anything. We asked for the check about 8 minutes after getting our food– explaining that we found it to be bad and that we couldn’t eat it. The server apologized, whisked away our plates, took my debit card and DIDNOTCOMPANYTHING. It seems like some folks like this place so maybe it just depends who’s in the kitchen but our experience was so bad we’ll never go back. $ 50 for nothing.

The happy hour was $ 2 off drafts. I ordered a beer where it says draft beers and supposedly it was not under the draft beers list. They should really specify the draft beers by squaring that part out because it’s confusing. I would only come back for the oysters and beer. The food was not the best.

I’ve been here twice now and so glad I finally came in. I first came in on a Wednesday for happy hour and was pleasantly surprised– great $ 1 happy he oysters that were beyond delish and a really good salmon for dinner– one of the best fish dishes I have had in a while. Today my husband and I stepped in for brunch. The steak and eggs is where it is at! We are definitely coming back!

Best bartenders in the neighborhood, hands down. Friendly, laid back, conversational. Love this place for happy hour! It’s pretty nondescript from the outside but don’t be fooled. This is a fun place with good pours and good bites.

So I’ll admit, I came in here because I didn’t want to wait 45 minutes at Barboncino on a Wednesday night. But I’m glad I did. It was basically empty which allowed for a quaint atmosphere. The service was slow, but I wasn’t in any rush so frankly I didn’t care. Tuesday night 9−11pm happy hour had the largest $ 1 oysters I’ve seen in the city, which was awesome. Lobster Mac & Cheese balls were two massive hunks and delicious. I also had the grilled chicken club which was a spruced up to make it a slightly more delicious take on an otherwise boring sandwich. And the hot toddies were certainly strong. I’ll be back again, but not if I’m ever in a rush or need prompt service.

We went here for brunch and had spicy five dollar bloody Mary’s. Just the way I like. Ordered poach and toast. Egg was cooked perfectly and the lemony cheesey arugula made my tongue do high fives with my brain. The toast was two thick ass pieces of tasty brioche. Thick ass. All in all a success. Thank you for the kind and prompt service.

I’ve been to Docklands twice for brunch. They have a pretty decent menu, but they’d definitely get more people in the door if they lowered the price of their mimosas.($ 10 per mimosa in a city with unlimited mimosa brunches around every corner? Cray!) The staff is very friendly and helpful. Do not come here if you’re starving because even when it’s nearly empty, it will still take a long time for your food to come out. The grilled chicken sandwich on the brunch menu is so delicious! Ask for extra sauce. The french toast is good, very filling(my bff and I split an order and I still couldn’t finish), and comes with fried chicken strips. The chicken strips could be seasoned way better, especially if you’re expecting something reminiscent of a chicken and waffles type of meal. I do like this place, though!

I would give it one star but my girlfriend insisted I give it two(consider yourself lucky Docklands). First experience, ordered 2 drinks, 1 dozen oysters, lobster mac and cheese balls and mussels. We received our drinks 45 min later while the restaurant probably had 13 people in it. Didn’t realize it took that long bc my girlfriend is probably the most interesting person to talk to and great company. Like the idiots that we are, we waited over 105 minutes for our food! No apology and no update! I insisted we walk out but my gf believed it would have been bad karma. We watched two tables walk out on the check and witnessed a «mgr» comp 2 other checks. Still no apology or update. We stood up as if we were to walk out and the food came rushing to our table. Had a few bites and asked for the check. Full price for everything and no apology. I did not want to leave a tip but I’m not a ratchet and it’s just bad karma. We left a measly 15%. Like the stupid people we are, we decided to try it again 4 months later. We thought maybe someone probably quit last time we were there and maybe that’s why they were short staffed and such. NOPE! Ordered 2 drinks and 1 dozen oyster. 33 min later, no drinks. Just watching the bartender flirt with some basic chicks. I finally got up from my table, went to the bar and asked for our drinks. Guarantee this place won’t last another year. With all the great restaurants in the area with 300x better service, THEYWILLNOTLAST. If you have a whole day to waste, give it a shot. We advise you stay away. Try Mayfield, Barbonchino, Cent’ani or even Glady’s. All on the same block.

I’ve been here several times, but my experience has always been quite limited. I’m a huge fan of oysters and was excited to hear about their 5 – 7 pm happy hour that features $ 1 oysters While also offering selected wine at a discounted price. Usually after ordering a dozen oysters + some and a few glasses of wine, I venture off before needing to order anything else. During the first time that I went, I left my credit card and the bartender was awesome even trying to chase me down and definitely remembering me when I returned the next day. I certainly would like to explore the menu a bit more, because I am certain that it should be good.

The first sign of things to come was that the place was less than 50% full on a Friday night. Normally we’d leave, but we were tired and were looking for something quiet. We got a Manhattan(garnished with brandied cherries that looked a bit like raisins — not as plump as the ones at Crown Inn) and I got a gin gimlet at the bartender’s suggestion. What was weird was that after he gave us our drinks and we had taken a sip, he came over and added some bitters to my drink to «punch it up». Never seen anyone add bitters after you mixed the drink — not necessarily bad but struck me as an odd thing to do. We started with the lobster mac and cheese balls, which were actually two pleasantly large orbs(larger than a Scotch egg). The ratio of crunchy outside to mac and cheese was lovely, though I didn’t find much lobster in there. The cajun sauce it was served on had virtually no flavor, so we added Tobasco. Alas, we probably should have stopped there. I wasn’t all that hungry, so I decided to order the shrimp plantains and sweet and spicy chicken wings from the appetizer menu for dinner. The shrimp plantains were three deep fried circles of plantain, topped with a red sauce and one large shrimp each. Sadly, the plantains were so over-fried that we couldn’t cut them, and chewing was difficult too. The red sauce was okay(sort of a tapenade) and the shrimp were well cooked, but the plantains made me wish Gordon Ramsay was on the way to help the chefs in the back. The sweet and spicy chicken(recommended by my fellow bar patrons) was covered in so much sweet sauce my fiancé commented that they looked«lacquered». They tasted something like General Tso’s Chicken from a Chinese place, and I only ate 2 or 3 pieces. My date went with the steak dinner, which came with maple bacon brussels sprouts and the mashed potatoes. He ate much of the steak, but it was very rare, bordering on uncooked. The brussels sprouts were pretty good — a little sweet, but well cooked, and the mashed potatoes were delicious. All in all our bill came out to $ 107 with tax, which seemed like such a ripoff for what we were served. I’ll give this place a star for the interior decoration, which is lovely in white subway tile and mirrors and a beautiful bar and another star for the mac and cheese balls. However, there’s just no getting around the fact that the cooks aren’t paying attention and sending out over– and under-cooked food.

The portions of food is refreshingly correct– not too big, not too small. Unfortunately the menu is lacking in creativity and the food was a mix of bland with spikes of extreme, overly seasoned items mixed in. I got the kale salad with grilled shrimp & the Brussel sprouts. The shrimp were so heavily seasoned it made me think they were trying to mask something, the bed of kale was just that. The Brussel sprouts were sweet and oily but that’s about it– again oddly bland. My husband got the salmon, which was cooked nicely but laid on a bed of onions — literally a pile of onions. Who eats piles of onions? Atmosphere is ok, but as with the food– not super creative or special– kind of reminded me of a chain seafood restaurant.

Nice location in up and coming neighborhood well my best friend happen to live down the block So the down bartender is not really skilled the drinks were bad and we had to return them twice to finally set in for wine and beers and the menu is a little boring and not a lot of choices The up The place is cute clean neat décor The staff was extra friendly and the place has a great atmosphere The food came quick and warm I wouldn’t go back because of the menu

I walked passed this place while on my way to inquire some information from their neighbors a few doors down.(Barboncino) With a quick glance, this place looked like a good spot to kill some time and enjoy a happy hour drink. After getting the information needed from said spot, I headed over to another happy hour spot recommended by a Unilocaler friend. It was a few blocks away but I didn’t want to cause any confusion or have friends get lost, so I walked back to this place. I met up with one of my friends and we ordered some happy hour drinks. I decided to spurge and order a white wine instead of the cheaper cocktail drink($ 5). On the HH menu, it said the white wine was $ 7. My friend ordered the Dark and Stormy($ 8). We also ordered a side of fries. My friend would have preferred the fries to be cooked longer. They were a bit soggy, but I liked them like that. When we got the check, both of our drinks came out full price. The bartender adjusted the price for only my friend’s drink. He took $ 2 off. I didn’t want to make a big fuss about it. I just wished the happy hour menu was a bit more clear, like which wines were for happy hour. I thought this place was bigger but it was quite narrow. My friend wanted to come back to try their happy hour dollar oysters.

Sorry to say this but. .. it was not good. .. I live nearby and was excited to try it out — looks very nice but it fell very flat in the two places that matter most: food and service. Food: we had a kale salad that was accompanied by what had to have been canned corn — this is not a good thing and pretty much set the tone for everything. Also had some blah mussels and a pepper salad that was just about as bland and hard to chew as anything I’ve ever had. Overall, the food consistently missed. Service: while very nice, our server seemed like he had never worked in a restaurant before. He was basically absent the entire time and when he was around, he didn’t seem to know anything about the menu. It might be a great place for some drinks(we went on a Wednesday evening and a really good band was playing — could be worth it just for that). Also don’t know about brunch — could be ok. I’d like to give it another chance, but might not because the dinner experience was so bad. ..

Sometimes you don’t even know a good thing when it hits you. Luckily when I fell into a chalk board on Franklin Avenue, I began to read it.(After picking it back up) Where did this chalk board come from? There’s no storefront here! Oh wait, now there is. I saw I was in front of Franklin Avenue’s brand new Restaurant, Docklands. Best of all, the chalkboard said free oysters for happy hour to celebrate its opening. I like happy hour. I like oysters. I like sitting. It’s a win! Came in and parked myself at the bar. The place is really beautiful. Sleek bar, cozy table areas in front/back, white tiled server area behind the bar and exposed brick, blended with white walls. The place was packed and the employees were hustling. Before I knew it, I was handed my first oyster. They were amazing. Very fresh, from the Long Island Sound. They do $ 6 dollar house cocktails for happy hour, but the opening of a new place deserves something special. I ordered up a Manhattan and glad I did, the bartender knew what he was doing. I started chatting it up with one of the guys behind the bar who was preparing the oysters, Eugene, who also was a Brooklyn native. We were talking about Brooklyn and sports. Before long the rest of the bar joined in. Real friendly guy. They kept the oysters coming and I grabbed some brews from the tap. They have Radeberger which is one of my favorite pilsners. Overall it was a great experience. Docklands is a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
