A great family owned business! Ashraf(The owner’s husband) made me a latte that tasted like perfection! I’m a fan!

$ 4 for an iced coffee in a dumpy coffee shop that tasted really bad. Not to mention the woman behind the counter who had to finish her conversation with someone before she sauntered over to help me. Ugh…

My favorite place in the area. Coffee is always consistent! I always get a bagel and cream cheese when I’m hungover. Everyone is super nice.

Had two bad cups of coffee on other places this morning, stumbled on this place and I’m glad I did. Friendly and great coffee. Didn’t try the food but it sure smells delicious

This place has no real air conditioning downstairs. They don’t always open on time. They serve yesterday’s bagels. They burn them. I was once given a half-finished water from the fridge when I asked for bottled water. Their prices are high. They’re often out of whatever it is I want. And it takes forever to get served. I’m dying for a great coffee shop in this area, and this is not it.

I’ve been here before as a coffee drinker and remember liking walking up the block and getting their coffee. Now that I haven’t had any coffee in over 76 day(yes I’m counting) I’ve become a fan of hot chocolate made with almond milk. They make a pretty good one here. The sweet bites are pretty yummy and go well with a hot beverage. The staff is probably the friendliest I’ve ever come across… I almost asked to hang out with them… and I don’t particularly like new people. LOL!

My wife and I really needed an afternoon pick me up. We stopped by here to get a couple of latte’s. The barista was so friendly. It took a fee minutes but everyone was patient and nice. We didn’t mind waiting because of the excellent customer service. We were very disappointed by our lattes. They were so weak even though we asked for extra shots and not hot at all even though we asked for them extra hot(as we always do). We were very disappointed and had driven off with no time to turn back around. Sad.

No bathroom, don’t plan on camping out here for long. There isn’t much real seating anyhow, so that shouldn’t be a worry, even though they definitely could have put 6 – 7 tables upstairs. But then they would have had to build a bathroom(establishments built post-1977 that have fewer than 20 seats aren’t required to provide one). Coffee was ok, one of the more expensive ones i’ve had(8 oz. — $ 1.75, 12 oz. — $ 2.25, 16 oz. $ 3.00). The staff was friendly but were eating behind the counter/in the kitchen. That’s a health code violation(i’m a chef), unsanitary, and just plain unprofessional.

The team is very chirpy, but a little giddy. Their enthusiasm may be uplifting, but they tend to gloss over certain things that make me doubt their professionalism/sanitation. Once, I patiently stood first in line as the barista on duty haphazardly put the kitchen into ‘order.’ When she finally turned her attention to the long queue, she assisted the first customer she set eyes upon instead of adhering to «first come first serve.» Even worse are the customers who gladly bank on this. Today, I observed another barista use her pinky finger to even out the amount of espresso grounds in a portafilter; she wasn’t even wearing gloves. Hmm… Lastly, I was excited for the gluten-free cupcake I’d bought from Coffee Bites, but it proved to be another let down… I realize that GF pastries tend to taste a tad different from regular treats, but it wasn’t that. The cupcake was hard and left a sour taste in my mouth, just as most of my visits here have.

I love the little loft upstairs. Be warned; the brownies and other pastries must have crack in them because they are ADDICTIVE! Only kidding, but really you can’t have just one! Plus, no one has mentioned that Soraya, the owner has contributed in many ways to the community and individuals, and has a huge, generous heart. I love this place!

Nice little Shop. It’s small but comfy. Bia served me, she’s friendly and relaxed. I had to do some studying and this was the perfect place because the place is so small that there aren’t too many distractions except for the door opening when someone new walks in which is not too often. I would come back, oh I forgot to mention they have cupcakes!

Friendly service, acceptable coffee, strange space(have to squeeze up to the bar, but there’s a dorm-like loft to sit in?), stale muffin. I didn’t understand the stale muffin because I saw a muffin tin full of muffins, which lead me to believe they baked the muffins fresh as needed. But mine was stale. Like day old stale. Which I didn’t know until I was walking towards the subway. So this is really a review of a muffin, which sounds unfair, but when you choose to buy a muffin as a treat breakfast you feel sort of guilty excited. So I was extra disappointed.

I’ve come into Coffee Bites twice. The baristas here are nice, but I’m not impressed with their level of professionalism. Service is slow and inefficient. I tried to work upstairs, but all the lights were off and no one working knew how to turn them on? Asides from the upstairs table and couch, there’s only two small tables downstairs. Not much in the way of seating. Coffee is okay, not the best in the neighborhood.

It’s a nice, friendly space, but the«cupcake» I got for $ 1.75(I was thinking value) was the size of a quarter! Espresso wasn’t very good either. They’ll have to up their game to stay relevant, though I’m not sure there’s much competition.

The espresso I got was okay. Far better than espresso at a deli, Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks, but not of the quality that comes from tamped-in-Brooklyn. Maybe they had a bad day. The interior is cute and there were some free samples which is much appreciated and remains in my mind. It’s close to the museum and Botanic Gardens and the only espresso bar in the area that I know of.

Today I had the pleasure of visiting this quaint spot on Washington Ave… a few blocks away from Toms. At first it looked like a regular ol’ coffee spot but once inside you feel the«warmth» of the place. The menues are simple, the chairs are comfy, the drinks are on point, and the staff is VERY friendly. I had the pleasure of being served by Eliza and Christa who went above and beyond to make my first experience a memorable one(minutes before closing). I must admit, at first I was a bit turned off by the«cash only» policy but I’m glad I gave this place a shot… boy would I have missed on out a great(and soon to be regular) spot. That staircase you see to the back(right) actually leads to a comfortable, wifi capable seating area that would make you consider paying rent to stay after closing. In short, I love this place and they will see me again. Cash ONLY!!!

Gotta say I’m not terribly impressed by this place but it gets 3 stars for the super sweet service. I went on a Saturday morning, around noon. Luckily the place wasn’t too crowded, but the upstairs space had a bunch of teenagers in it and was really overwhelmingly hot and stuffy. The front was much breezier with the open windows, but the hum of the refrigerated counter behind me was pretty loud at times. Also, the window seats are too tall for the tables in front of it, so rather than sitting across from each other, my boyfriend and I sat next to each other and took up both of the small tables up front. The chai tea was from a bag, but the almond croissant and the chocolate croissant we ordered was otherwise nice. We paid about $ 10 for the drink and two croissants. Friendly staff but the space could do with some improvement.

If you’re looking for a place to open when they say they open, this is not the place to go. The first time I went was in the middle of the morning. Coffee was good, and the place is really cute, especially the upstairs area. All of this is the reason I tried it a second time, only I showed up 30 minutes after they said they were to open, and the place was still closed. Fortunately for me, there are plenty of other good coffee shops in the area, so I went down the street to Sit & Wonder, and they are now my favorite go-to coffee shop. Sorry, Coffee Bites, but you lost my business. Cute place, though. :)

I’ve tried their Lattes, Chai Lattes, Iced Coffee. They have a nice range of drink sizes. Chai Latte is a MUSTHAVE! It’s made with loose tea and it’s not pre-sweetened like other joints. Iced Coffee is a tad too watered down for my liking. Not air conditioned on a hot day. Additional seating upstairs but can get stuffy. Price: 3⁄5 More expensive than Glass Shop(on Classon Ave.) Service: 5⁄5 Everyone is super sweet, making it a great way to start the day. One morning, I didn’t have cash with me but the owner just told me to just pay her back the next day.
