I’ve always been skeptical of vegan baked goods but these bakery has totally changed my point of view. I got the brownie and the strawberry ginger scone. Usually most scones are dry which is why I don’t get them but I like ginger and I like strawberries so I thought why not try it. Well thank goodness I did because the outside edges were nice and crisp but the scone was still soft and moist on the inside. There was little bits of ginger and chunks of real strawberries. The brownie had a deep rich chocolate flavor which was really nice and had a fudge like texture in the center which is my favorite part of a brownie. I wish I got more trays to try but there’s always next time!

This is great little hole in the wall bakery. I had the orange cranberry muffin and a coconut milk latte. Awesome stuff and a plus that it’s all vegan!

Samantha took note of my previous review in early December and fixed everything. Because of my experience, she gave me the next order on the house but I wasn’t able to get back to Clementine Bakery until two days ago. She personally made the sandwiches and they turned out awesome, like the first time I visited there. Thanks again, Samantha.

This place is so cute, staff is helpful and adorable. Cheap and fun. Coffee is good, would definitely return for more delicious and healthy treats!

They have decent baked goods depending on what you get. The terrible customer service however makes it not even worth the visit.

Really good vegan sandwiches and baked goods for a reasonable price(everything below was about $ 25). We ordered: 1. BLAT sandwich 2. Rueben sandwich 3. Spinach and garlic biscuits 4. Cookies and cream cupcake 5. Chocolate brownie(gluten free) 6. Coffee The tempeh on the sandwiches was great– really thinly sliced and carmelized. My only issue with the BLAT is that there was way too much mayo for my taste. That’s an easy fix, though, and I would definitely order it again with the mayo on the side. The rueben was pretty much perfect with thick rye bread and tons of sauerkraut. Loved the baked goods, especially the biscuits and cupcake. Great coffee too. The space is small, but we were able to sit down and eat. I’m regretting not getting a danish too. That will have to wait for the next visit.

This was a wonderful experience. Visiting from out of town and very greatful for a vegan bakery in the neighborhood. We had raspberry, lemon, lavender scone and a reuben. The food was great and the staff was friendly and helpful, just wish the space was larger. So glad that I was able to share this side of my hometown with my daughter. So nostalgic. There truly is no place like home especially when you grew up in NYC.

Great place for a quick bite and vegan baked goods. Atmosphere is casual and small, but bright and accommodating. The staff is attentive and the food excellent. All fresh and made to order. Everything is vegan, so it’s a nice relief to order anything off the sandwich menu and not have to ask if something contains dairy.

Merry Christmas. So we sliced the cake & it is terrible. It takes nothing like the original slice of cake I purchased. The frosting is cloyingly sweet. The actual cake itself has a texture like banana bread. I can barely taste any bourbon, this was a waste of my money. My cousin brought a red velvet cake and there are barely crumbs left from that cake. The Clementines cake slices are laying untouched

Lovely little bakery that has loads of vegan items and gluten free treats as well. The tofu sandwich is my favorite. Friendly staff of young hipsters.

I was tasked with introducing some friends to their first vegan desserts and, feeling the pressure to make a good impression, let Unilocal lead the way to one of the best in Brooklyn. I found myself at Clementine, a tiny but homey bakery in Fort Greene where they apparently do vegan baked goods right. The man at the counter amicably accepted my challenge when I all but said, «Box up whatever you think is yummy» and packed me two boxes full of goodies. It was a long drive back to my friends’ place and I figured, ‘What better way to enjoy the ride than to enjoy some sweet treats? I first dug into the salted chocolate chip cookies, which he described as «gluten-free without any of that weird GF aftertaste». If you’ve ever tried bad gluten-free cookies, I’m sure you’ll understand why I was dubious, but I found these to be lovely — crumbly yet not dry, and just a hint of occasional saltiness so that your mouth is never overwhelmed with the sweet chocolate. I also broke off a brownie piece, with high expectations after someone had written that this brownie had«changed [her] life». I would respectfully disagree — this wasn’t the very best brownie I’ve ever had(vegan or non). In fact, it was quite hard and only the very middle had any of the fudgy moistness that I personally enjoy in a brownie. Still, I attributed a lot of the textural disappointment to the fact that I bought these at nearly 5:30 in the afternoon, which was probably long after its infernal trip in the oven. Because the chocolatey taste was so spot on, I imagine these would be far better earlier on in the day, right after they’ve been baked. The last one I tried was the peanut butter and jelly bar, which the guy at Clementine announced was his personal favorite. I enjoyed this particular dessert with friends(I did leave SOMEthing to share), and when my newly vegan friend had his first bite, his eyes fluttered shut as he moaned, «This is exactly what I imagine pb&j would taste like as a dessert.» A decadent layer of peanut butter cream sits on top of a buttery-tasting crumble layer and then the whole thing is given a light smear of grape jelly. This is sold in thinner slices, and once I tasted how rich and intense it was, I was thankful for the smaller serving, lest I eat too much of it and get knocked out into a sugary stupor. I loved how warm and friendly the bakery felt and could easily imagine myself coming back to try more of the more savory items(I saw a couple enjoying some delicious looking vegan grilled cheese sandwiches and really had to hold myself back). Some of the desserts were a little stale and clearly past their prime, but even then, they tasted delicious enough that I’d be willing to come back and try them fresh.

Everything that I’ve had here has been incredibly delicious. So good, that I’d marry the baker(s) to get dibs on the goodies. Out of all the goodies: muffin, scone, danish, cookie, blondie and cake. My favoritest is the pumpkin coffee cake! That shiz was holler back status. Like the other goods here — it was moist, packed with flavor and not overly sweet unlike most vegan bakeries. And the coffee flavored crumbs on top was mighty taassttyy. I can’t even imagine how good their cinnamon roll is if that’s what they’re known for. Also looking forward to trying their pumpkin pie. But unfortunately, I’m no early riser so they’re always sold out by the time I roll in *womp womp*. Damn you morning people!!! Come on baker(s), marry me already! By far, this is my favorite vegan bakery yet. Keep up the good work you magical baker(s) you.

Another solid time at Clementines. Had the grilled cheese and added on a tomato. The vegan cheese always tastes a little industrial, but that’s nothing to knock them on — it’s just how the stuff tastes. Still a big fan of the bread. Toasted and well seasoned. No up-charge for the almond, coconut, or soy milk for the coffees, which sounds like a stupid thing to be happy about, but so many other coffee spots make you feel like you have a disability when you need a different milk. It’s nice to not be charged extra because of a food allergy.

Love the ambiance including all fresco on a quiet, leafy street. And I like the extensive menu of vegan breakfast, lunch, and desert items — especially an impressive menu for a tiny place. I took a a cab from Manhattan to try this en route to JFK. However, the quality gives vegan cooking and baking a bad name. Heavy on oils salt, and overdone other seasonings. Low on fresh, low on balanced taste. Clumpy stuff turned up also in my chilly cupcake and spoonful of stale ice cream(store bought). I tried a bell pepper and cheddar biscuit(creative in concept maybe but execution was too oily) and a «schmancy» sandwich — too much oil, seasoning, and salt ruined it. I would return here only if it were right on the way of where I wanted to be.

I had the best Danish I’ve ever had in my life at this place. It was blueberry, seemed to be fresh out of the oven, and delicious. Everything else looked really good as well and very reasonably priced. Seriously — try the blueberry Danish. The coffeecake looked good as well. I hope to be back soon!

This place is rad if you are vegan, gluten free or eat anything. It deserves four stars, because the goods that are on point are the bomb! However, the goods that are not the bomb are so-so. So, the average of 3 + 5 = 4. 1)The savory kale biscuit/turnover is amazing. They use vegan cheese and even my spouse(who does not like vegan cheese) was floored. The dough tastes buttery and light, but there is clearly no butter in the recipe. 2) The Cinnamon Roles are also really delicious. Moist and luscious and not too sweet. Those are the two items that are currently worthy of a 5 star rating — in my opinion(though, I have not tried the whole menu and I have moved a few blocks over, so I do not get the chance to visit as often as I used to).

I have a voracious sweet tooth and very much wanted some cake. So I went here. They have chocolate cherry cake! I love chocolate and cherry. I got a cheesecake brownie too. The cake is good, nice and moist, plentiful cherries, a good frosting to cake ratio. The cheesecake brownie is good too, very dense and moist. A great place to get a treat when craving a vegan dessert.

Been there twice and now I’m in love. I have to start with the warmth and friendliness of the staff. The owner should be very pleased with them. Everything is vegan though not labeled as such. This is brilliant. If that word turns people off than don’t use it. The seating is tight, a table or two and small counter inside and two tables outside so you might be taking yours to go. On to the food. I have had three sandwiches, the Schmancy, the Autumnal and the Tepheh Reuben. The best was the Autumnal. A great bbq sauce and delicious ingredients. It came with a sage mayo on the side that was not that great when I tasted it. I put some on the sandwich and it raised it to a great new level. The Reuben was good but not perfect. Its awesome homemade bread was delicious but so think that the Daiya mozzarella did not melt fully. It also needed more dressing. I would get rid of the Daiya altogether, use more dressing and re-name the sandwich because it is not reminiscent of a Reuben. If you want a vegan Reuben that mirrors the traditional version, try Snice. The Schmancy is a delicious celebration of pesto. I would be thrilled to have any of them right now. We also tried some potato salad which was quite good. For dessert we had a thumbprint, a small cookie with some fruit jelly in the middle. Decent, had some autumnal spice. I also tried the chocolate coconut cupcake which was great. I have no clue why most places don’t just make their desserts vegan already. Places like Clementine have proven over and over again that vegan is just as good(better) than non-vegan for most desserts.
