Chris Foster – State Farm Insurance Agent

I was a customer with this office for 3 years. I have now transferred to a new agent for a few reasons. First, though I paid my insurance in full every time it was due, inevitably between premium renewals I would receive a notice telling me that I owed a balance. I intentionally pay my balance in full when I renew so that I don’t have to maintain a balance every month. My policy was canceled on a few occasions over less than $ 50. In addition, I signed-​up for renter’s insurance. I asked multiple times that my renter insurance be made due at the same time as my auto. This was never done, and without my knowing, my rental policy was canceled. The office checked and verified that they had only sent me one piece of mail about it in May and the policy canceled in August, since I had requested that auto and rental renew at the same time I thought I had paid it — my auto was renewed in April so I thought I’d taken care of my renter’s then as well.
Upon finding out that the renters had been canceled I asked to immediately get set back up. I was told I would hear back same day from someone, I had also expressed my concern and frustration over the confusion of the random incremental bills between insurance renewals, and by close of business I hadn’t heard from anyone with a new renter’s policy.
In all, I just had enough. Hopefully the new agent will do better.

Shopped around for a renter’s insurance policy and State Farm had one of the best prices — plus, I used them in San Diego and never had a problem. It only took about 10 minutes on the phone to get the policy set up — quick and easy. It’s nice having a local office to call instead of a national call center.

I used to be a long time Geico customer. After a TERRIBLE experience, I started to shop around for another insurance company. I called into Chris Foster’s office and inquired about a new policy. The representative I spoke to was very helpful and informative. After going over different options, I decided to sign up. When everything was said and done, State Farm was able to quote me a price which was $ 48/​month less than what I was previously paying with Geico.
3 Month’s after switching to State Farm, my vehicle was side swiped while parked. The claim process was as seamless as when I first signed up. I will recommend this office to all of my family and friends.

Renee, I had the same experience with this agency! I switched to Geico for car insurance for half of what I was paying at State Farm. I canceled my policy a week ago and they still deducted funds from my account. I have also had about four other experiences with this agency which has drove me to this point! I would never ever recommend this Chris Foster agency to anyone!!!

I honestly and truly wanted to like this State Farm office. I had high expectations that were tarnished to the point of no return starting with the day I came in to sign up for the policy with Betsy. Now I understand we’ve all fallen short at work but at least have the decency to get off instant messenger, laughing and chatting when you have customers sitting at your desk who can see exactly what you are doing. The situation escalated to her being rude to my fiancé, ultimately causing a screaming match and Chris Foster having to come out his office (which he really didn’t diffuse anything).
Over the course of my period with State Farm I really didn’t have to return there since everything was auto drafted from my account but of course between today and yesterday, I have switched to Geico which offered me A WAY LOWER rate and MUCH BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE! These are all things that are a plus. Finally, in switching this became a hassle as I wanted to ensure my account was not debited on ⁷⁄₂₇ so I called yesterday after sending over everything and asking for the renters policy to be cancelled as well. Geico had already sent them my ID cards and proof of new auto insurance yesterday and I even sent it via email as well to ensure it was received by this office.
Lo and behold this morning I check my State Farm account online and its not cancelled and I am STILL scheduled for a draft for ⁷⁄₂₇ though Betsy, once again, told me that the renters part had been cancelled. It wasn’t until I threatened to come there and show out that Jonathan implemented a way to suspend billing to ensure I wouldn’t be charged. Jonathan is new and Betsy has been there so you would think she would have known to do that and we could have rectified some of these issues last night. Even when I called to see about getting a lower rate now that my 6 months would be up in August before renewing, I was brushed off and even told, «Go elsewhere because we can’t help you with a lower rate.» So I did JUST THAT!
Either way, I would NOT recommend that any NEW insurance seeker or old for that matter go to this office. There are PLENTY other State Farm offices with way better customer service and other companies to choose from. Don’t get me wrong, I think State Farm is okay as a company but this office on Church Ave leaves A LOT TO BE DESIRED! Be warned!
