Mmmmmm Mexican! I order their chorizo tacos, huaraches, tortas and now the chicken nachos.

A great example of one my favorite types of restaurants in New York — the expanded Mexican deli. This place has long served food out of its bodega counter. At some point, they decided to put in a series of actual dining tables, although not, it is important to add at the expense of their merchandise. So as long as you are comfortable dining around bottles of soda and imported Mexican candy, you’re in for a treat. The great sandwiches, tacos and sopes that come out of the kitchen are amply sized and spiced. And of course, the cost for this feast under the J train is quite nominal. An all and all quite wonderful experience.

Great Mexican food. The owner is always in so he makes sure the order is correct and on point. I like the camitas and the tacos dorados.

The enchiladas never fail! Tacos and burritos are great too! Friendly employees, inside seating and they take cards.

Don’t go here if you are looking for tasty Mexican food. Their chicken burrito is bland, low quality and overpriced at $ 9(instead of the advertised price of $ 8). It seems they don’t believe in their food enough to give a price you would come back for.

I order take out and have dined in with this lovely family. I’m a fan of the entrees, note the rice and beans are nothing special but good because of that. Definitely a neighborhood favorite!

Tacos. Legit. Bodega atmosphere if you’re dining in, but really excellent food. We tried the tacos cholulita with cecina($ 10.50 for 3). Seems steep, but these tacos are LOADED with toppings. The beef was very salty(as expected) and the green sauce was definitely a sinus cleaner. Chicken tacos were also very flavorful. Definitely my favorite Mexican spot under the JMZ.

Ordered from grubhub. Mediocre food. Burritos are ok. The bananas with cream were pretty gross, looked like a bukkake scene. Have you ever gotten an entrée at a mexican place which normally comes with rice and beans and not get beans? Well that’s Cholulita for you.

Disappointed. After all the good reviews here, I was eager to get a chance to try a new taco joint while in this neighborhood. Pork taco — Carnitas — was actually served diced. Carnitas should be shredded. The diced meat was very fat. Many cubes of fat skin. I’m a gringo so I shun the big chunks of fat. There was not much seasoning. Beef taco — better than the Carnitas, but overall bland in taste. I got the«everything» extras on the tacos. That means slices of avocado and other stuff, for some extra $. I would not recommend this, as it did not make the tacos any better.

Ahhhh Cholula’s…how I love you. I tried really hard to not write this review because I don’t want anyone to discover my spot but I have to. I’ve been coming to this Cholula’s(not the other ones around the hood) for YEARS. Between my boyfriend and I we have probably tasted the entire menu. THISCHOLULA’S ISTHEBESTONE. Forget the other ones. This the best. Why is this the best one: — the lady manager/owner is super sweet and loves to talk shop about food and cooking — the green sauce is magical. Despite the recent onslaught of hipsters they have not lowered the spice. It is magical, it clears you sinuses and it cleanses your soul. — the chicken used in any of the fried dishes(tostadas, flautas, etc) is incredibly flavorful. It’s herby, garlicy and just perfectly cooked. — the carne cecina is yum yum. its the right amount of salty and incredibly tender. — get anything with chorizo it’s gonna be good. — pollo a la mexicana is tender, spicy, flavorful and the serving size is no joke. As to delivery: its very slow. I’m not even going to take one star off because despite it being slow it’s still really good food. I’ve come to this place so much with my fiancé and love it so much I legit thought he was going to propose here. If my heart were a room, Cholula’s would be the comfy couch and the green sauce would be the snuggie I wear as I watch TV. Seriously, I love this place.

Used to be an upper-echelon cemita spot, but the quality’s slipped… still ok.

Wow, after living in the Middle East for a year it’s such a treat it come back to excellent Mexican food here. Cholulita blows the competition in the area away. Everything is super fresh here, and they get everything you order correct. The salsas are all fresh and when you ask for the picante it is picante. I stuck mostly with chorizo and longaniza, but I’d be willing to bet everything on their menu is excellent. It’s also a tienda, like we have in the South where it is both a small restaurant, as well as great Mexican grocery. This is a really impressive place.

The boss lady is unpleasant and not friendly. I asked how many tacos are in 1 order and they told me 3. And then they told me it’s $ 2.50 each. So I decided to have 3 tacos. Odered 1 beef, 1 chicken, &1 pork. Not orders just individual tacos. I ended up getting 9 tacos @ $ 23. Whatever I could always eat it later. But they weren’t even good! Beef was chewy and dry. Everything was dry! Pork and chicken too. Yup found bones. Do yourself a favor and walk down to Carerras. It’s a real restaurant and nicer. Friendlier staff and the tacos are awesome! And cheaper!

This was my daily eat in Bushwick. You can’t go past the $ 2.50 tacos and tostadas! The lady on service was always really nice and I enjoyed the relaxed semi Mexican supermarket setting. Definitely eat here if you like Mexican food!

I love this place so much that it pushed me to write my first Unilocal review. Cheap and good. Beef tacos here are my favorite. Always ask for hot sauce(they don’t keep the green stuff on the table with the inferior condiments). Make sure to tip well cause they work hard here. Don’t be fooled, Even if the restaurant is mostly empty they are often literally running around trying to keep up with the take out orders.

This place is great! Really humble settings, local crowd, the good was very tasty & fresh. I just had the tacos which had ample fillings & a very fresh coriander/cilantro salsa on the side. It’s essentially a shop & deli for all things Mexican/Latin American, but with a kitchen & number of tables to eat at. The price is on point, & the service is direct. I loved it!

Five stars considering the category. This is basically a bodega with seating, but the food is really good! It’s surprisingly fresh and tasty, and at an excellent price. If you want a fancy sit down experience with table service and top-shelf cocktails, this isn’t for you. But if you want a quick, cheap and delicious meal with no frills, this place is awesome.
