The chicken and fries are horrible here! Normally I like to get general Tso or chicken and broccoli but this was a first time try so I decided to get something that is normally tasty at every Chinese place. The fries were cold, and cold fries are neverr good. I pretty sure the chicken and fries was cooked in old oil because you can almost taste it. Just thinking about it is making my stomach hurt. Yes it made my stomach hurt after I ate it too. Whyyy can’t I find good Chinese in bushwick!!!

Such great food for such a great price! I love the garlic shrimp with the cashew nuts added to it!
It’s kinda random but the onions rings are the bomb!

The service was great considering I just wanted a dish consisting just of tofu and broccoli. They made general tso’s tofu and broocoli with a side of rice for $ 4.50 and it was honestly the best tofu I’ve had in such a long time. I think I lucked out.

The food here is as bad as the place looks. I had the general tsos and it was way too sweet and a sickly yellow color. My girlfriend had the sweet and sour chicken and it was tasteless. Around the corner on Wilson is a place called happy garden which is a thousand times better.

Just not that good for Chinese food. Ordered the General Tso’s chicken and it was just bland, soggy, and not spicy. It is cheap though

This review is only because I just called to see if they delivery to me (which is still Bushwick so I don’t know what the big deal was). The lady said «oh no no no» like I just told her I was contagious — and rudely hung up on me! Way to go lady, what if I was willing to pick up that order? Rude!

I was on the verge of four/​five stars and again, the price got me into the five range. The combo comes with a pretty good egg roll… the general tso’s isn’t spicy enough… the sweet and sour is good… I just downgraded to a four star… its overall well priced and good… but its not great.

I agree with all the other comments. I am really glad I decided to try it out of all the tons of places near my house. I had the chicken mei fun which was NOT greasy for once, and a huge portion. Eggroll was good. The cheese wontons were WAY too sweet for my tastes, but thats pretty common for around here. I liked the wonton soup. It was all just really good and a great value. I’m definitely sticking with this place that only takes me 3 minutes to walk to :)

Chen’s is definitely the only solid Chinese in the neighborhood. I usually get the sweet & sour chicken, and the portions are enormous with the combination platter for a mere $ 6. The pork fried rice it comes with is the worst part — it’s not horrible but I never ever finish it. The general tso’s tofu is pretty good as well (and even cheaper!). I’d definitely recommend Chen’s to anyone who’s starving in Bushwick and wants something quick and cheap.
The best part: being able to call in an order and having it be done by the time you walk there. I’ve NEVER had to wait for food.

Chen’s is AWESOME. I go here almost weekly for an enormous portion of general tso’s tofu for $ 4! Really good prices and really good food. I mean, it’s still greasy, Americanized Chinese takeout, but as far as that goes, Chen’s is pretty much as good as it gets, and is definitely the best in the neighborhood.

My first time ordering from here and it’s the best I’ve ever had. I had an old time favorite Chinese restaurant, but it got shut down :(it was the only place I ordered Chinese from. Ever since that other place got shut down I have been looking for a new permanent Chinese place and I can safely say I have finally found it. The rice is yellow just like I like it and the chicken nuggets are delicious as well as the eggrolls and chicken wings! Delicious. I will definitely order from here again.
