I ordered oxtail, dumplings and bananas and instead of getting oxtail, they served me a container full of fat. Clearly, this wasn’t prepared properly. It’s an on going issue; evidently they need to hire a new chef. Secondly, be prepared to wait 10−15mins to get your food because you have to wait for the staff to share their gossips amongst one another before they serve the customers. One star is by far too much, they don’t deserve none.

One of the best damn west indian spots in New York hands down. I have eaten her twice n the food was mad good both times! #HandsDown the service is a little slow but thats because everyone likes it! Lol if you get a chance order a combo of oxtail wit fried jumbo shrimp w rice n peas and sauce! Can u say lit?

Food is good.
The absolute worst service ever! The staff is horrendous. They are so damn slow it’s ridiculous. Some of them are holding personal conversations when they should be fixing orders. They rarely look happy when dealing with customers and it doesn’t matter what time of day you enter. The women behind the counter look unhappy at 7am, 3pm or 10pm. It’s chaos behind the counter which is horrible when you have an establishment that is always jam packed with patrons.
On the plus side customers do get a lot of food for their money, there’s a lot of variety and the food is fresh. They also open very early for breakfast and stay open quite late.
Love the oxtail. Love the curry goat. Love the stew peas. I get their beef soup every Saturday!

I’ve been going crazy to go here since I moved out of the area but today while on my way to the nail salon I finally got to stop in and get my favorite, stew peas with rice and peas and macaroni salad. Still taste just like I remember: Amazing!!! Other food from here is good as well but stew peas (stewed pigtail with red beans and dumplings) is my signature dish to get. It’s a must try restaurant. And surprisingly the cashier was nice today! HA!

The food is good, but the workers attitudes are atrocious. They’re always upset and work at a snails pace… Be prepared to spend 30 minutes in there on any given day… They need some competition in the area to whip them into shape

BEST BEEF PATTIES EVER!!! I also had the Curried Goat and it was delicious. My coworkers got the ox tail and it was just as good. For great Caribbean food look no further.

Why is it that the woman are always angry and rude. I’m the costumer they need to learn to be polite and put on a happy face. You lucky the food taste good (in my jamaican voice)

A bunch of rude and angry Jamaican women. They get angry if you ask any questions about the food or try to add something to your order. By far the worst service I’ve seen. The women would congregate together in the front instead of serving the food and moving the customers. One time they were on Instagram they all had their phones out chatting completely ignoring the fact that there is an entire store filled with people waiting to be served. I even saw them cursing at this one guy and tell him move out of the store. They never wear gloves to serve the food and there is a lot of chatter over the food. This restaurant needs to step it up as far as putting these women in line and training. They lack service experience and etiquette.

Food is alway a great compared to some others in the Area. Service is good also, with ample space to dine in. The Curry Shrimp & Butter shrimp is to Die for. MODD

Always good fresh food and for the right price! For breakfast the salt fish with dumplings, white yams, yellow yams and bananas is slamming! Get a large it will last for breakfast and lunch and maybe a lil more for before dinner. The oxtails rice and peas is sooooooooo goooooood! Its all seasoned very well and worth every penny. Curry chicken white rice is very good also and get the macaroni salad on the side. The workers are kool enough and there are tables to eat in but shoot after eating this good food you are gonna wanna be home to rest and chill out. 5 stars!!!

Compared to the other places in the food wasteland that is Church Ave, the food here is good, most of the time. Other days it tastes like leftovers from the day before… stale rice & hard, grainy chicken.
That’s not the biggest issue, though. The biggie is that the staff here is so incredibly RUDE, the rudest I’ve ever encountered in any food establishment, no joke. Last week, I went to order food for 2 other people & the server was annoyed that I ordered more than one dish & sarcastically made a comment to that effect ??? I was stunned. I would assume she’d be happy that I was bringing the business money, but I guess not.
The pricing also seems a tad suspect at times… I’ve noticed what they tell you at the register is usually a few dollars higher than what’s posted on the menu.
The place seems to be getting less & less crowded as time goes by, probably because of the horrendous service.

The attitude is disgusting the female employees in the evening are so nasty. I’m go to this restaurant a lot because the food is so good. I love the ladies in the morning they are so nice, but the evening for dinner the ladies who work the evening shift are so disgusting no manners and they are very mean. They wont even wear gloves or a net over their hair… The foods is great but they need new evening employees meaning the women.

They have plenty of breakfast options from okra and Saltfish, to the fave Ackee and Saltfish. I’ve never been disappointed since I came. I stopped going to C and J, (the restaurant with the rudest staff and wait times) the first time I came here who staff is friendly and will crack a joke or 2 with u. Try their king fish or oxtail and rice and peas. My new yardie spot …

I had the brown stew chicken with rice and peas and macaroni salad, the food was flavorful, the service was good, the restaurant was clean, and there was a lot of options on the menu to choose from. And the food looked very appetizing once you enter the resturant! This is definitely my new favorite spot!

Hands down this is one of the best Jamaican food spots in Brooklyn… Over the years many Caribbean restaurants have cut back on their seasoning and food prep work. However, Caribbean Vibes remain with true island seasoning in their food and the portions are very good. Every meal comes with your choice of salad (toss salad, macaroni salad, potato salad, etc) and either white rice or rice and peas. I strongly recommend getting the macaroni salad with ANY meal on the menu.
A dead giveaway that this restaurant has some of the best food in town is the long line and wait that occurs during the lunch and dinner hours. If your going to drive to the location try to go after 6pm to avoid meter parking.
