Main points: 1. Place is really lack luster in person, doesn’t live up to expectations set in photos 2. I walked in on a Tuesday night the place is completely empty except for one other table(note they had a white tablecloth on their table real fancy like). The only other people in the place seemed to be employees hanging out at and behind the bar. 3. Since the place is pretty much empty you would think me and my friend would be greeted warmly and looked after even better. NOTATALL 4. No one greets us or even utters a word to us We seat ourselves Wait for the server to come over and welcome us to the place and go through the usual server spiel(and maybe give us a fancy tablecloth like the other table, no such luck) SHECOMESOVERANDDOESNOTSAY A WORD!!! Instead stares at some guy who works there, giving him a blank stare which is obviously some inside thing me and my friend have no idea about what. All the while standing at our table not talking to us but literally just staring at the guy and having a moment with him. That obviously was so weird and lasted literally 1 minute. OKFINE ISSHEGOINGTOSPEAK A WORDTOUSYET? NO SHEDROPSWATER, LEAVES, RETURNSWITHCHIPSFORTHETABLE, LEAVESAGAIN(STILLUTTERSILENCE) STILLHASNOTUTTERED A SINGLEWORD FINALLYHERFIRSTWORDSTOUS: AREYOUREADY? 5. Me and my friend eat some chips get up and leave and go to a similar but much friendlier place across the street called BONAO FRANKLYTHE B**** WASRUDE

For this next of the woods this is four stars. Prices are on point and the food is delics. I usually get the salmon and green plantain. Support the neighborhood! Service is kinda slow, but hey it is a good look for this neighborhood.

Okay, first of all. I thought I was NOT going to like this place. boy was i wrong. Upon walking in it does look like just a bar so I wasn’t sure we were even in the right place. We were seated quickly and our server took our drink order quickly. I love everything about this place. the food the culture the drinks and the service. My waitress and I had some great conversation, cant remember her name! We got our food fairly quick and it was SOOOOOOOOOOOO good. i recommend the steak, grilled chicken and salmon. we all loved our dishes. We’ll definitely be back soon !

First of let me start of by saying, I REALLYWANTEDTOLIKETHISPLACE! I’ve heard good things about it and the pictures and all seem cool. But NO! I came on a Saturday night with my fiancé for dinner & drinks and it was just horrible!!! It was about 9pm and the place was completely empty with customers but you have about 4 girls behind the bar just talking and eating pizza right from the box. Than you have another 4 guys sitting around the bar doing the same exact thing.(I’m guessing they all work here!) So We started off by ordering drinks which took over 10minutes! WHY!!! When you have 4 people back there! But when they did come out they were actually pretty tasty, which is the ONLY reason why I’m giving them that 1 star! All I see is ratchet behavior and a whole lot of cursing! All that comes out the girls mouth is filthy curse words! This place has potential! But please it needs to start with getting rid of all employees who doesn’t know how to treat a customer and how to act when you do finally get a customer in your business! Its called PROFESSIONALISM! And the staff here doesn’t know the meaning of that! Another piece to add is that there is absolutely no heat in this establishment. It makes it very uncomfortable to have a meal and actually enjoy it! Which is part of the reason why our stay wasn’t long at all.(20 mins tops) I will be giving this place another chance sometime in the Future,(Benefit of the doubt) just hope it’ll be completely different than the first.

I’ve never been more humiliated in my life. I took my Fiancée to dine at this place for her birthday since she likes latin cuisine. Food was ok. After having dinner, we ordered a couple of drinks which took for ever to order(about 20 mts each time). Our waitress(which was really nice), apologized everytime saying there were only two waitresses since two other had been fired. No biggie. After 3 rounds of drinks we were asked to stand up and go to the bar at which there was no room to even stand by. Like really? After we had dinner and were still having drinks you are going to move us to the bar? Its not like we were just sitting there not drinking anything! So we got up with drinks in hand and our table of 2 was given to a group of 8. Incredible! This is how pathetic and money hungry the owner is. We asked for the bill immediately(the amount was just as much or more than purchasing a bottle). The waitress apologized repeatedly as we were walking out, saying her boss had ordered her to do that. And that’s how we spent my Fiancée’s birthday.

I went to have dinner at this establishment and I was extremely dissapoonted with my experience. I was asked to move to another table after a large party arrived when I was initially given the option to sit anywhere. Following this I finished my dinner of two and started ordering rounds of drinks. I was abruptly interrupted while I was dancing with my partner to be told I had to now move again to stand up at the bar because another group arrived and was going to order a bottle. I found it extremely disrespectful especially considering that the waitress apologized, explaining her boss had ordered her to remove us from the table. She added that this was the fourth time her boss had ordered her to do this. Clearly this reflects bad management because my guest and I had no understanding that considering all that we consumed we would be removed from our table and sent to the bar. To top it off we were actually going to continue ordering rounds of drinks but I think the lack of customer service and finesse demanded that we leave the establishment. I would never return to this establishment and highly recommend others to spare themselves the blatant disrespect towards customers.

Good drinks, I enjoyed the mojito. Many places make it to sour this place made it right. The atmosphere was appealing. Overall I would recommend.

I had a little bit higher expectations. I paid $ 9 for a burger. The bun was flat and soggy. The patty was bland and smaller than that of a cheeseburger from McDonalds. They didn’t put regular sliced tomatoes, instead they sliced 1 cherry tomato in half and stuck that on it. Being that the bun was soggy and the patty pretty much non-existent those suckers slid right off Not happy.

For customers who used to go to Macorix to eat be warned, this place changed from great to bad. I returned a while back and it’s no longer the same dining restaurant. Most of the dining area was replaced with a counter to rest a drink while standing. Atmosphere unpleasant. Attitude in the place– bad. Real good restaurant-gone. Low level something-or-other bar instead.

Good music & drinks. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Hookah there is also really good. Haven’t tried their food yet but I’ll be visiting again soon to try it out. They’ve recently renovated and now there’s a lot more room to dance.

Worst place ever. The service is terrible. They are really slow and prices are ridiculous for what it is. I don’t mind paying for food but better food and service. First we got there at 6 and started eating by 8pm. My husband ordered Churrasco and it was burned. On top of that they charged me 17.00 $ for grilled chicken with sweet potatoes(thats a rip off). Never again

Wish we could give this place a non-star. The service was horrible. Cons: When we first arrived no one offered us a table. We sat ourselves and the tables and cups were dusty. The waitress stated that everything on the menu was delicious but they were missing half of the menu items. There were no yucca fries and no yellow plantains. We also asked if they had strawberry mojitos/margaritas but they did not have strawberry only mango/passion fruit/pomegranate/coconut. We ordered three chicharron mofongos and chicken wings. The chicharron mofongo was lacking chicharron and had only small pieces. There was no ranch sauce for the chicken wings. We ordered three fishbowl and it took 30 minutes for the 1st drink to come out. We had to wait 15 – 20 minutes for the other two fishbowls to come out because there was no ice. A man sitting at the bar had to be sent to buy the ice and it took him 15 minutes even though there is a grocery store across the street. This place only had 1 waitress and 1 bartender. It’s name says its a bistro but it looks like a nice bar. What kind of bar runs out of ice. When the two fishbowls came out they were watered down. The waitress was accommodating and added more alcohol. There was customers who were walking in and out of the kitchen/back area. The DJ kept playing the same song over and over again. Pros: Our waitress was really nice and accommodating. There was a nice breeze. The bathroom was nice. The mint hookah was good.

Let’s just say that before they changed it from Macorix to Caoba it WAS great but now it’s HORRIBLE! We waited an hour and twenty five minutes and our food hadn’t come out we ended up taking it to go, I guess this is the vibe they want, it’s extremely ghetto! And honesty the food is okay mediocre at best but for sh*tyy service I would take my money somewhere else!

Okay, I must admit, I did not expect to find this category of cuisine on this side of Brooklyn, but to my delight, discovered! The food is the highest echelon of what’s to be expected here — GOOD. Very. I have enough reason to believe the vision of the restaurant as it relates to desired patron is culture-specific, which I don’t fully deem a bad thing. But it may not benefit the unenvisioned patron. If you were me upon initial entrance, you would understand what it felt like walking into a dining space and bar with all eyes on me. This included the cordial owner and his visibly uncordial friends/guests staring me down. This is just my experience, you should consider. Moreover, the quality of food, and drinks; SUPERB. The bartenders and waitresses turned out to be very warm. Try this place. It’s worth it.

Easiest the finest Dominican/Latin American restaurant in the East New York/Cypress Hills/Bushwick Brooklyn area. The owner recently renovated the place and it looks amazing. My favorite drink is the Fishbowl and the food is amazing. The food is delicious!!! The Owner is very friendly and so are the staff. I highly recommend.

I bought a Groupon for this spot because it was in the neighborhood. I was told it was«their policy» not to honor Groupon vouchers on Saturday. I kindly informed the server that the Groupon did not specify any time or day restrictions. Good customer service would have been to honor my Groupon. Since it is up to the business to specify any restrictions in the offer. I will not honor them by spending my money here.

Not much to say about the place. It looks like a bar when entering, not a Resturaunt. When seated, the food take forever(longer than usual) The waitresses have horrible memory and forgot something as simple as a refill of water and a coffee. I ordered the Pollo a la parilla and it was not seasoned like usual dominican Resturaunts are. The piña colada is the only thing i liked about the place. The bartenders are obviously not licensed and trained poorly. I wouldnt recommend.

My dear friend & I came here last night for dinner & drinks. Surprised that Macorix was no longer in that location, but up for a new discovery we forged on. We were so glad we did! Our waitress was lovely, our appetizers were good, but the food & the drinks(mojitos & margaritas) were scrumptious!!. It wasnt busy, the music was mixed from Romeo Santos to Bredda Bob. We left there feeling nice & sexy after 2 servings of Tiramisu. We comin back! Da place nice! Bonding mission roaring success! Yaaaaaass!

This was my 3rd time coming here, and this last experience was horrible. We waited over 30 minutes for our waitress to take our drink orders. When we all asked for a drink menu, we’re told. There are none. We see a man sitting at the bar with a red tall drink, some people with yummy looking fishbowls, and a few glasses of sangria. So we pointed at someone’s drink and said we will have that. After waiting another 20 minutes for our food order to be taken, we had to ask the waitress to please bring us our bread basket. We had to have some type of carbs in our stomach for the booze considering our appetizers weren’t out yet. Calamari arrived and it tasted as if it was sitting out for a while. The food was good, although the waitress never asked me how I wanted my steak so I was praying it wouldn’t be bloody on arrival. Overall the drinks are amazing but the staff and food could use some serious work. Was really looking forward to seeing a cool spot open up in my old hood. Sangria’s and Fishbowl are amazing So is the Quisqueya drink
