Great food, great price. Simply as that. I just wouldn’t recommend the shrimp tacos, it’s a bit plain and you don’t get full off of that. The nachos and Burrito are very good though. I def recommend this place. Look forward to coming here again!

I’ve been coming here regularly for about a year and never had a bad experience. I love this place. The people who work here are always friendly. The food is fresh, tasty and really affordable. My husband and I split an El Grande with extra meat and are both super full at the end for about $ 10. It even comes with guac. If you like spicy food I highly recommend using their house made hot sauces on whatever you order. Their grilled meats are all great and I’m also a fan of their super vegetarian burrito. Their tacos are also delicious and they are big enough that two tacos will fill you up.

I have been coming here since the late 90’s, and it is amazingly consistent. Everything fresh and made to order. My go-to is the fish tacos, which are made in the authentic, Rosarita/Baja style: soft corn tortillas, beer-batter flakey white fish, chipotle mayo, chopped tomatoes and cabbage. Outstanding.

Their chicken tacos are an absolute must. Chicken is grilled and charred to perfection and each bite is a fresh, hot, tangy taste of heaven. I also enjoy their tostadas with shrimp/beef. Note, though — their guacamole is all avocado. It was kind of strange not having any tomatoes in it. Nevertheless, huge portions and very inexpensive.

This place has great burritos. They’re stuffed full of ingredients, all of which are balanced in portion. The food is hot, fresh, and filling. Also, the guys making the burritos actually know how to roll them, so that’s a plus. Like many have stated, it does get hot in restaurant, especially by the counter. That’s only a problem in the summer; in the fall and winter things are comfortable.

It has been years since I have been here, but nothing has change and they did not disappoint. Use to visit often when I lived in Brooklyn and have been dying to come back and check out the food. Since it was later than I like to eat I passed on the burrito as they are still in HUGE portions. Their burritos can serve for two meals. They definitely pack in the ingredients. I actually had the flank steak with black beans & rice. It was really good. The price point is more than reasonable for the amount of food the provide. Anyone who likes Mexican food I would highly recommend this spot.

Ok, so I read all the reviews before coming to this place and none of them do it justice. YES, ITISHOTINHERE. Nelly would be thrilled. There are fans spinning but no AC and during a NY heat wave that’s kind of a bummer, but honestly, it doesn’t take away from the amazingness of the steak burrito I just consumed. I watched the man behind the counter cook up my perfectly marinated steak. It’s piping hot and juicy as hell. I ordered the Buddy’s Gourmet Burrito with steak(8.44 including tax) which comes with medium spicy steak, guacamole, cheese, and salsa. There were huge tomatoes and chunks of onions in the burrito, it tasted fresh and delicious. So please give this place a shot. Seriously, do it for the steak.

For 3.50 I get two corn tortillas piled high with black beans, lettuce, cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole, and cilantro. And it all tastes fresh. And they’re open late when you need carbs to soak up the booze.

Went there today for the first time… Hot, no ac… but the food was delicious, affordable and plentiful. I travel a lot for work but this will be my go to in this neighborhood!

Gourmet burrito with seasoned grilled chicken, cheese, avocado, salsa Verdi and no rice. It has more flavor than chipotle. The small businesses usually taste better but are overlooked

I got a chicken Brooklyn burrito– it’s basically just Mexican rice, chicken and the perfect amount of cheese. The chicken is super flavorful, and my boyfriend got the steak– also super delicious. Kind of wish there were more veggies but that’s a personal preference… It was delicious, I’ll definitely go back– but maybe ask for more veggies in the burrito?

I came here last Sunday in order to eat something and kill some time while waiting to pick up my pet. My Fiancé and I sat and ordered. From the outside, I expected a larger interior, but it was smaller than I expected. We sat down in the rear, which was actually cold. I ordered the steak platter with black beans and rice and my fiancé had the chicken burrito. I have been to a lot of Mexican Restaurants, so FLAVOR is a big thing for me. I read all of these review prior to coming here so I expected to be wow’d to some extent. But I wasn’t. I ate my steak platter which was actually ok, the black beans lacked something for me, they didn’t have the seasoning that some places have, but it was OK. The steak was lightly seasoned which was good because it doesn’t over power your palate. The rice was actually my favorite thing on the plate, it had some nice spice to it. The pico de gallo didnt live up to my expectations though, too light on the taste buds for my taste. Barely any lime or cilantro could be tasted. The chicken burrito is where the failure was found. The chicken was EXTREMELY bland, no flavor whatsoever, the only reason you knew you were eating chicken was because of its texture, if not for that, you really didn’t know if you were chewing just a big bean or something else lol. The burrito wasn’t tightly packed and so everything spilled on to the plate. The chicken looked actually pale, if that is even believable. You could tell by the lack of color on the chicken pieces that it was not seasoned, hence the reason for the bland taste. Sadly, my Fiancé could not finish even half of the burrito because the taste was not there. I am sure that every one here has a different experience, and some will disagree with me, and that’s ok. I definitely prefer LOBO or even Calexico over this place. Also, this isnt so much of a restaurant, its more like a taco shop to say the least because they didnt reallty have many mexican platters.

My favorite Mexican joint in New York. Steak quesadilla and steak taco make everything alright in the world. Comes with sour cream and guac. Don’t forget the green sauce! The perfect no fuss cantina spot(plastic chairs and stuff). Would choose this over any upscale place.

Super vegetarian burrito. Made in a hurry. Fair price. Flavorful, light but filling, and fresh! The burrito was stuffed. Delectable taste hit the spot [on my taste buds and in my belly]!!! Best burrito in a long while. The only thing missing were a toss in of a few chips. Chips extra $ 2. I will surely return. Pleasant staff. Cash or credit. Open late.

Buddy’s is a reliable and decent option if you’re craving cheap and tasty Mexican food that is as least kind of close to what you might find in Tucson. It’s a shame that the beans are not refried, and there is more emphasis on fillings instead of just the divine bean and cheese, but it’s all fresh and authentically treated. If you’re on your way to Chipotle down the street, eat here instead.

So yeah, we were so hungry that we went next door to grab something to eat… either it’s the best burrito I’ve ever had or we were so freakin’ hungry that everything tasted phenomenal! Carne al Vapor burrito was amazing! There was delicious tender meat, and amazing guacamole just doused in salsa and wrapped in the lightest tortilla. Ironically we didn’t get any tacos… I’m not really much of a taco person anyway. But I’m sure I might change my mind if I had one of theirs!(Gives me a reason to go back again on the next trip.) The location is great, open atmosphere and easy to get to from the street. You can dine in or get it to-go. Unilocaling admission: Forgive me, but I was so hungry I didn’t even care to take a photos! But it’s massive! GINORMOUS! Hoking huge! — I still finished it though — yeah that’s right, I devoured it. :P

I dig this place. The burrito I had was so big I couldnt eat the whole thing! Thats a big-ass burrito… They have plenty of options and everything I have had there has been very tasty. No frills. Sorta a dirty chipotle. Be weary of the hot sauce. That stuff will smack your ass and call your susie. Dont say I didnt warn you.
