Very good!!! The squid/calamari is actually one of the best I have ever had. I like that it was not heavy with oil. General zhos Chicken was good as well.

No complaints. Food was good enough, if not spectacular. Would eat there again.

Ordered from here, and this is what I remember … noodles were involved? It wasn’t terrible so I won’t complain too much about it, but when you are looking for that spot that serves up delicious, delicious noodles, this ain’t it.

I went here late on a Thursday night, and we were basically the only people in the place. Our server was very nice and acommodating(and they had awesome music — Alicia Keys Pandora, if you’re interested :) The apps were delicious(Califlower/Eggplant wontos, sesame peanut noodles). I was less pleased with my entrée(tofu and chinese broccoli.) Very soggy, a lot of sauce. My friends got chicken/broccoli and pork and seemed to like it. Overall its decent priced and a perfect fine atmosphere.

Good service. Good food. Good delivery. I’ve had food from here twice now, once at the restaurant and once through delivery. Food: General Tso’s chicken is tasty, as usual. The scallion pancakes are also very yummy and, while they are fried, they aren’t heavy or super oily at all. Their pork bun was also delicious. Nice and meaty with some good sauce. Crab rangoon is great, too, although it is a little pricey for the 5 small wontons you get. Service/delivery: Our waitress at the restaurant was nice and had a nice sense of humor. Our waters also never went empty, always a good sign in my book. Delivery came within half an hour around peak dinner time. It was packaged nicely and tasted just as good as it did at the restaurant. Overall: Good go-to restaurant for either delivery or eat-in. Not super heavy or greasy like some other places.

Went here on Sunday night, the place was empty but there was a fair amount of people coming in to pickup orders. The waitress took my girlfriend’s order of a spicy dumplings soup and my order of pastrami dumplings and two pork buns. The food was delivered all at different times so I was done eating by the time the soup came out for my g/f. It’s not that I was being rude my not waiting, it’s that the wait was so long. The dumplings were delicious, I could eat a lot of those. Sadly, the pork buns didn’t follow suit, they were not good. I absolutely love pork buns but the buns were stale and the pork over cooked. I also had to ask for the hot sauce that should have come with them. The soup, when it eventually arrived, was also delicious. A perfect amount of heat and very hearty. So there are consistency issues and perhaps training issues. It wasn’t terrible but I don’t see a reason to return given that there are so many options for this type of food.

Some of my friends live in Williamsburg so I sometimes end up spending the night(on a couch). We woke up one day and thought about getting some Chinese food so stopped by here. I’m not quite sure what this food is. It looks like Chinese food, but there’s something not right about it. It’s not bad, but it eats like the kind of Chinese that was most likely made by non Chinese hipsters. I ordered hanger steak with chinese broccoli, assuming it’d be something like a classic beef with broccoli. My beef was cooked like the kind of grilled beef you’d get at a Mexican restaurant(think fajita steak) alongside a garnish of broccoli. There is a sauce, but I wouldn’t immediately think of it as one from any Chinese food I’m used to. This place is really more a fusion style place using Asian ingredients with a more western preparation. Not bad, but calling it Wok Shop is a bit misleading.

I’m in it solely for the crispy salmon and crab rangoon. Could eat that 5 times a week. Wish there was a little more salmon, but it’s always cooked perfectly and comes on a big bed of Chinese broccoli(I’m not much for broccoli, but this stuff is great) and plenty of brown or white rice. The pork dumplings are good, too. My girlfriend is more adventurous. She’s ordered half the menu probably and never was disappointed. Definitely on the healthy side when it comes to Chinese; void of all the oil & grease of its counterparts.

You NEED to go here!!! Not sure why more people aren’t going here. The food is amazing. My husband first had the food at the 5 boroughs craft beer festival and he wouldn’t stop talking about the pastrami dumplings. While apartment shopping in Williamsburg we stumbled upon this place and tried a variety of the fresh dim sum. Everything we had was so good, and I can’t wait to go back! Here’s what we had and I will put it in order from my favorite to least favorite. Pastrami dumplings Duck confit dumplings Chicken buns Cold sesame noodles(only complaint is that maybe these were a little too peanut-buttery) Our check was so cheap and the beer was only $ 3 a glass!!! And that was for delicious Brooklyn brewery sorachi! GOEATTHERE!!!

After an afternoon stroll around Williamsburg, my boyfriend Alex and I decided to stop for dinner. We took a turn off the main stretch of Bedford Avenue onto a quieter street and discovered an awesome little joint called Brooklyn Wok Shop. This 15 table restaurant serves delicious dim sum, house-made noodle soups and classic Chinese entrees with a spin. Daily News says they’ve got the best General Tso’s Chicken in New York and I’d have to agree! This is a great spot to get a kick-ass dinner without the hassle of waiting a hour for a table and then waiting again for the food. It’s table service and the staff is super friendly. The prices are very reasonable and the average entrée runs about $ 12, so take your favorite girl here and treat her to something delicious! Brooklyn Wok Shop is located at 182 North 10th Street, Brooklyn, NY11211. Don’t forget to tell them who sent you– Hungry White Girl!

4 stars for the crab rangoon and fired pork wanton… seriously they were awesome I am not sure if I can blame them for not liking the eggplant and cauliflower one… I mean i never eat cauliflower so it is not their fault… however the texture was really something to get use to. These wantons were just delicious, and I loved the way they seasoned them!

I rarely reviews about food but I am completely addicted to their Homestyle organic roasted chicken soup with bok choy. Completely fresh and delicious especially with there proprietary chili oil! In a sea of «new» Williamsburg attitude, the friendly staff and delivery people remind me that there are parts of the neighborhood that still feel homegrown and special.

I had their General Tso’s, which is declared the bestest in some article that they’ve framed and displayed outside. It’s pretty good, and ample. The grilled broccoli is a nice touch. If I had to nit-pick, I’d say the sauce could be a little spicier(or provide the condiments so that I can make it so), and some portions of the chicken were a bit dry, because I suspect it was breast meat. When it comes to something as inherently unhealthy as General Tso’s, I don’t see any reason to veer from 100% thigh meat. It just tastes better. Overall though, this was a good first impression, and I’ll give them another try.

I had three of their special dumplings and the results were a little mixed. The mushroom dumpling and duck confit dumpling were ok. Clever ideas but not super well executed. The pastrami dumpling though was great. Well thought out sauce and garnishes.

Shocked that this place isn’t always busy. I go to dance class right around this area and always walk by, and wanted to try it. Came here with my room mate, we both had the same spicy soup and added shrimp & pork shumai YUM. The broth was really flavorful, not too spicy(thank god because I can’t handle too much spice). I had the hand pulled egg noodles in mine, they were the perfect amount of chewiness and you can tell they were really fresh. Perfect for a chilly afternoon, the place is beautiful inside and the server was super friendly. Everything seems really clean and organized. Definitely want to try more of the dim sum like the duck confit dumplings. Also happy hour is 4 – 6, not usually a huge sake fan but tried the hot apple cider one and thought it was pretty good!

My husband and I decided to order from here on seamless last night, regardless of the bad reviews we read there and here. We figured it was worth a try, but I wouldn’t order it again. I’m doubtful that it’s much better eating at the restaurant. First off, the food took about 90 minutes for delivery. At least it was hot enough to eat out of the bag(kind of). Secondly, we were disappointed with the portion size. It’s probably more cost effective to eat at the restaurant since the soups come in those large bowls. When you get it delivered, it’s just in one of those large Chinese take-out containers, which I think is a quart. When I order similar soups from other Asian establishments, they usually add a pint contain to the order so you get the full soup. Considering these soups are mostly liquid with some green vegetables and a small amount of either meat or dumplings, you’re not going to be overly full. We ordered the Spicy Curry Wonton Soup, which was«eh» at best. It was spicy, but it had a strange powdery texture, like the curry flavor wasn’t truly melted into the soup. I didn’t like the consistency at all. The veggies were fine and the 4 wontons were rather tasty. Perhaps you get more at the restaurant but 4 just wasn’t enough for me. I was expecting about 6 of them. The Short Rib Noodle Soup was a little better. The broth was much tastier and I liked the baby bok choy. There were only 3 small pieces of short ribs, so it was definitely lacking. For nearly $ 14, I was expecting a lot more. Although the soups were okay to eat, it was just way too expensive for what you get. Asian food is supposed to be affordable and plentiful… this place doesn’t make any sense to me. I actually think the udon noodle soups at my local Japanese restaurants make better soups and far cheaper. Oh well, at least we tried it.

I’ve had dinner here with friends and family several times and the service and food has always been great! The pork buns, crab fried ragoons(REALCRAB!) and scallion pancakes are some of the best I’ve tasted. The hand pulled noodle soups are also excellent and they have great beer on tap! The restaurant is really spacious and clean, with a nice friendly vibe. I was happy to see that they are serving dim sum all day now, bc it’s hard to hit up spots only for brunch these days. Not sure about some of the negative reviews below, bc if your looking for cheap Chinese food you should just head to Chinatown or flushing. And really that review about Asian clientele? Wth is with that. Not all food is created equal and what they do here brings me back every time. The proprietors are using high quality meat, no msg, low sodium ingredients and the owner has experience working at the best restaurants in NYC. Being in the industry you have to respect your peers that are working hard to put out creative and respectable food. If you want greasy, old, and don’t care that your food has probably come from scraps of animals go ahead and call your local corner Chinese restaurant for their $ 5 buck combo with orange tang juice. But if you want reinvented Chinese food with great ingredients, clean and chill environment that you won’t feel awkward at, this is a nice spot in Williamsburg.

It’s hipster Chinese food. It’s obvious that they are not serving for the Asian clientele. It’s as if a white person tried Asian food for the very first time and tried to replicate it without a recipe kinda bad. I think the big issue is that it really resembles Chinese food, but the taste is completely off. If you have any preconceived notion of what Chinese food is, then leave that at the front door. I can’t even call it «fusion» because it looks straight up Chinese. I get that it’s Williamsburg and not Flushing, Elmhurst or Chinatown but this was an embarrassment. As an Asian, I was actually shocked they even tried to pawn this off as Chinese. To make it worse, the people who run this place are Asian. I came on a Sunday when they do «Dim Sum.» The food: Roast Pork bun– I have found my very first roast pork bun I hated. The bun is pretty standard but the roast pork was bad. Bad like overcooked burnt pork bad. It was waiting for the TV crew to pop up and tell me I just got Punk’d bad, too bad no one showed up. And the sauce was so overbearing Crêpe with Shrimp– The dough was off and it was way too thick. It’s supposed to be thin, so you could taste the shrimp and sauce. It felt like they used Chow Fun noodles. Lotus Leaf Sticky Buns– I thought this dish was too gloppy, too much rice and not enough stuff inside. Spicy Curry Wonton Soup– This dish was the one I liked most. The broth was nice, the noodles were good and the wontons were flavorful.
