Cute atmosphere, good music, and the most delicious kolaches. The berry and cheese one is my favorite. Their coffee and chai are good as well. Service is great and it’s never super crowded. The back room is spacious but can get busy with a lot of people working on their laptops. There is basically always space in the front though. They also have a cute little patio in the back!

This was my first time having a kolache(pronounced«colah-chee») and they were better than I expected. I love discovering new and different ethnic foods so I did a quick wiki search and found out they originated from Czech as a sweet fruit pastry and are well known in Texas where there’s a large population of Czech immigrants. Anyhow, back to the food — they look like unassuming bread rolls but once you take a bite, the bread is a light pillowly texture that you didn’t expect at all and better yet they come with different choices of meat to actually fill you up. They come in both sweet and savory choices but we got there late in the day around 3:30PM on a Saturday and most of the kolaches were gone. Luckily they still had their popular jalapeño and sausage kolache which was good, not too much sausage and a nice little kick from the jalapeño. We also tried their chili dog kolache which was just chili and sausage and was twice the size of their regular kolache. Prices are about $ 3.50 to $ 4.00 depending on which kolache you get but definitely good bang for your buck for the meat kolaches since they actually fill you up. There were plenty of seats for us when we got there and a big back area where there were a bunch of people with their laptops. Seems like a great neighborhood shop to grab a bite and spend a few hours surfing the net or reading.

Kolache’s are delicious atmosphere is great. the smell is amazing in the store. That being said. Coffee is terrible! Absolutely horrible. It’s bright, almost citrusy but then falls flat. No acidity or body to speak of. The teas are great. Service is great also.

Kolache is fairly tasty, it has the taste of a dinner roll so I recommend a savory one. The cashier was polite and warm. The mood set is pretty standard Bed-Stuy Hipster.

Sausage and jalapeño kolache will blow your socks off! They also have really great variety of coffee.

Two-part space and a friendly counter staff dished up the Sweet cheese & cherry and David’s pastrami Reuben special kolaches for a well-spent $ 8. Certainly a nice change from your usual bagel or pastry for a morning treat. Congrats, you earned your first star! Earn 9 more stars and get: 10% off your next purchase(up to $ 10) (Seems prices skyrocketed since opening, and in the past they refused to accept LevelUp)

I spent a good three hours chilling here the other day enjoying Kolache. The Kolache is good – they make the dough fresh every day. I tried the jalapeño and cheese kolache and a chai tea with. The chai tea wasn’t great, I’ve definitely had better, especially in Brooklyn. I liked the Kolache, but didn’t think it was anything to write home about and not something worth returning for. The environment was ok. The chairs weren’t very comfortable, especially for a coffee-esq shop. Again, a good place to try, I just wouldn’t put it on my list of places to return to.

Only had a carpaccio but the kitty coffee that they roast is legitimate. Checked in with Unilocal and used the free high five the barista. But all I got was a high five from the cashier. I did get a heart in my coffee though. I’ll be impressed when she can write her number with milk. All in all great coffee. Didn’t try their meat and cheese filled breads but they looked and smelled amazing.

Came here at the suggestion of my Airbnb host and I am glad I listened to him! I was pleasantly surprised at how good my latte was. They had a variety of sweet and savory kolaches-which were both pretty good(I had the Pumpkin Cheese & Sausage & Cheese). I can see myself coming here every day for my morning latte if I lived in the neighborhood. There is a Dunkin Donuts nearby… I don’t know why people would choose to go there instead. I’d much rather give my money to a local business than a cardboard cutout coffee/donut shop.

I love studying here every chance I get. The entire barista staff is extremely friendly, and more often than not, you will find the owner, who is quite passionate about the kolaches that are made fresh each and every day, stopping by to check in on all of the scrumptious goodies. Also, there have been some fantastic changes that have taken place at BKC over the course of the past few months. Amazing renovations have been made to the back room to make it a friendlier environment conducive to getting work done or meeting other BKC regulars. I just wish it could be amazing weather year ’round because there is nothing better than having one of BKC’s specialty kolaches: the love dip, the hometown bbq, the chorizo/egg/cheese, the pumpkin and sweet cheese, etc — in the back garden. I simply cannot get enough of this place! I highly recommend Brooklyn Kolache Co. for anyone who is looking for amazing coffee and/or delicious delights who happens to live in the area, is within walking distance of the area, is within a short subway or bus ride from the area, or if you just happen to be visiting Brooklyn for a few days.

The fact that Brooklyn Kolache company is 3 blocks from my apartment was a deciding factor in my decision to move in. I’m from Texas. They served kolaches in my high school cafeteria. I’ve eaten a lot of kolaches in my lifetime. Brooklyn Kolache continues to make me smile. If you’re a Texan living in Brooklyn, get thee to BKC stat! They do the classics well and 9 times out of 10 I get a sausage, jalapeño and cheese. But, they also impress me with their more creative flavors too. The Love Dip is awesome, as is the spinach and feta. I tend toward savory kolaches, but the few sweet ones I’ve had have also been killer. The way I describe a kolache to the uninitiated: Fluffy, yeasty, not-too-sweet dinner rolls with stuff inside. I’m sure there’s more to it than that but … The crew here is sweet and always smiling, even during the the Saturday morning rush. The backyard is a chill place to eat when it’s nice out.

just like texas! Kolaches are chez but Texas has to do things their own way so they added meat. The owner is from Austin and knows the greats like Chez Stop in West, Texas. The cities name is west… not a location. Go to both!

I just moved in the neighborhood and had to do a couple errands in the area. It was rainy and all I wanted was to get somewhere inside, dry out a bit and have a good coffee. I stumbled upon this lovely little place(the great reviews on Unilocal didn’t hurt) and I was surprised to discover these delicious kolaches! I just came back from Austria and was craving for poppy seeds(something you commonly find in Austrian, German, Hungarian, Russian baked goods and pastries), I just couldn’t resist when I saw their poppy seeds kolaches! They have so many different options, I will have come back to taste them as well. Definitely worth trying, the cappuccino was great too, I think I’ll come back regularly, I also want to try their cold brew.(Walk afterwards though… gotta burn those fluffy pastries at some point!)

Love this place!!! Good cold brew and the kolaches are amazing. I could eat 3 strawberry sweet cheese kolaches in one sitting no problem. Their savory ones are good too, I like the chorizo and one with cream cheese spiced nicely. But I have a sweet tooth, so I prefer the sweet kolaches! Atmosphere is nice, I’ve been able to get some work done here many times. Good to note their wifi hours however, it isn’t always turned on.

Sorry guys, I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately it didn’t work out. I stopped there the other day on the way to school and got a sweet cheese and a sausage jalapeño and cheese kolache. Unfortunately, the sausage jalapeño and cheese did not contain any visible traces of said ingredients. I could maybe taste a hint of jalapeño aroma accompanied by what may have been a slight essence of cheesyness, but there really wasn’t any sausage at all. So sad. $ 4 for a plain bread roll is a bit steep for me. Two stars because the sweet cheese kolache was pretty good, as were the mustard and hot sauces for my plain bread.

This place is great. I went for the first time this morning. I got the bacon egg and cheese kolache and it was delicious. The coffee is really good too. The staff is super nice and I will likely be back if I’m in the area. It’s kind of awesome. I want to try the sweet ones.

KOLACHEKOLACHEKOLACHE. I grew up eating these. I have a lot of family in Texas and have been flying back and forth since I was little. Smuggling BBQ on the plane isn’t something that’s really done so instead I was always the person that had half their suitcase stuffed with kolaches. The kolaches here deliver. I had the sausage, jalapeño, and cheese along with the poppyseed. The poppyseed was good but I’m not a big fan of the sweet kolaches compared to the savory ones. The sausage, jalapeño, and cheese delivered. It was wonderful and spicy(along with the help of their hot sauce and mustard). It was dough was fluffy, the ingredients complimented each other, and it was just delicious. I was actually surprised by how good it was. If you haven’t had a kolache, BKC is a good place to start(ahem native New Yorkers). It takes you back the heart of Texas. I will definitely be back smuggling a purseful back to Manhattan.

Surprisingly I haven’t had a kolache yet and I’ve been to Prague, I chatted with the barista(who was super sweet and helpful by the way, wish I got her name so I could give her a shoutout on Unilocal) who informed me that kolaches were invented by czech americans, or specifically czech texans. I got a texas beef kolache and blueberry sweet cheese. I could see why kolaches are such a hit after my first bite. The bread was so soft it just blends in your mouth and it wasn’t because it was buttery, it’s because the dough’s fluffy. The main star of the pastry was actually the carb not the fillings surprisingly. Savory kolaches are served with complimentary mustard and hot sauce, there’s also free water in the back for you to enjoy your pastries. This place is quite the hidden gem in Clinton Hill, the interior layout reminds me so much of the Bun Shop in Baltimore, similar concept in food/café as well. Don’t forget to check in for your free high five from the barista!

Never underestimate the power of a managerial response! I’d made it clear that I was on the fence about returning, but a reply on Unilocal(before I went all Elite, so big respect there) brought me back for a second try, albeit some time later. This time I came by around 9AM, and true to their word, the display case had an impressive array. Today I tried their bacon egg and cheese($ 3.75) and apple($ 3.00). I think that coming earlier in the day made all the difference. The bacon egg and cheese was delicious — the eggs and dough were soft, the bacon was crispy, and the cheese was melty goodness. My only gripe is that one bite contained an unfortunate mouthful of a spice or seasoning I couldn’t quite name. Still, because it seemed to be all in a clump, that particular bite was overwhelmed. I suppose it was a freak mixing accident, but I would be remiss not to mention it. Now the apple pastry was phenomenal, so much so that I think the prices should have been swapped in respect to its quality. The emphasis is on the dough, but the filling was absolutely delicious. It’s still a bit pricey for me, but now I see why. Four stars now.
