Love, love love the sandwiches! Use to work a couple of blocks from their location and would stop in once a week. I live on the other end of Brooklyn and when I can travel 40 minutes thru excruciating traffic to get a sandwich. I haven’t try the breakfast menu but the sandwiches are to die for!

Used to be favorite spot… went down in cleanliness though. Had a bout of food poisoning.

The bagels are light and soft and perfect for a B. A. E. C. L. T. !(Which I made up, but it was awesome.)

Awful, dry, flour-heavy french toast bagel… AND weak service.

Hm so I wasn’t sure whether what I ate was a bagel or actually a roll. I was not a fan. The bread was not chewy like a bagel and it was burnt on the edges. I didn’t ask for it to be toasted. There was no line at half past 11 and the service was fast.

I love this place and I think their sandwiches are excellent, very different to your run of the mill food you get around the neighbourhood. Their bread is quality but they need to sort the service out. It takes way too long and is quite unfriendly. Sort it out brooklyn bread, manners cost nothing. Try the grilled chicken and broccoli rabe or any of the beef sandwiches.

What kind of bagel is this??? Weird. It’s bread in a round shape. For bread it is fine, but I wanted a real NY bagel. I feel duped.

I was with someone who needed to take a dump and we stopped in this café for that purpose. I ordered the«s» shaped sesame cookies(two for $ 1.50) and they were so good I ended up ordering one more. The person who took a dump also ended up ordering three of the same cookies since they had just made some room for more food.

Worst bagel I ever had. Also, many of their baked goods come from mass market bakeries. Have heard the bagette is good, but haven’t tried. If you want a bagel, go to a bagel shop…

Really great breakfast sandwiches! The sausage egg and cheese was awesome. The bagels are thinner than I anticipated but still well worth the trip! And the black and white cookie was delish!

The best bagels I’ve ever had. THEIRBAGELSARENOTTHESAMEASEVERYONEELSE’S. They use a different dough and cook them differently. They are noticeably different from every other bagel and they are delicious. They also have very good tofu cream cheese. Try the cinnamon-toast bagel and, of course, get it toasted(preferably with tofu cream cheese)… Holy crap…

I recently moved to Carroll Gardens and have been testing out all the local coffee shops. Brooklyn Bread is by far my favorite — the prices, atmosphere, location and staff are all ideal. Compared to the overpriced and rather pretentious Carroll Street Grocers and unfriendly but affordable D’amico, I like Brooklyn Bread best. Their muffins are delicious and only $ 2.50, and they serve D’amico Coffee, which is way better than Brooklyn Brew coffee, IMO. The staff are all helpful and Spanish-speaking, which is nice. Their bathroom is also good. The only downside I would say, is that there aren’t any outlets so it’s not that equipped for long-time studying. But it’s quieter than some of the other coffee shops on off-hours if you’re hoping to get some work done. Love Brooklyn Bread!

I love all their bread and bagels. This is sooo my go to spot for bread. All types. I always drop by whenever I’m in BK. Tip — when you order flavored cream cheese over regular cream cheese, you save 50 cents. Not sure why flavored would be cheaper but I say it’s just as good so go for it!

5 stars for the bagels, 3 stars for the service = 4 star review. Service is inconsistent but the bagels are amazing! Brick oven bagels are so light and a delicious alternative to the heavy, doughy traditional boiled bagels. Whenever we have company in town we bring them here, and whenever we go out of town we grab a dozen bagels or so to bring with us: everyone raves about the bagels. A staple weekend morning spot, we even get extra bagels to make sandwiches on for lunch.

I love the frittata sandwiches at Brooklyn bread, just $ 5 and you’re full for hours. I also love their whole wheat bagels and their whole wheat everything bagels. I’ve only got the bacon egg frittata and it’s always been delicious. Service is always fast, correct and friendly.

The bagels here are by far the best in Brooklyn. If you are looking loafs of bread that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside than this is the place you should get your bread from. Very satisfied with the price and service.

The staff here is so-so…sometimes i have to tell them what i want three times before they get it correct and i usually only order a hot black coffee. the place also has some riggity raggity hours… sometimes it is open in the morning around 6am… other times it is pitch black when i walk by on my way to the subway. the ventilation is lacking as well…but let me stop with the complaints. the bagels are delicious… not dense like other NY styles, they are airy… almost not a true bagel, but better. i usually get lox with tomato and onion and it never disappoints. i am so glad this place is right in my neighborhood… it literally makes the whole block smell like heaven as they bake right on location. thumbs up!

The wait at lunchtime for a sandwich was almost unbearably long. I was on a deadline(i.e. lunch break) and had no idea I would be waiting 10 minutes, anxiously checking my email. It was also very confusing about where to stand, when to pay, etc. It got crowded with high school kids and I had to keep dodging them while I waited. That said, the prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich was DELICIOUS! I was a little nervous about paying $ 8.50 for a sandwich but it was definitely worth it — yummy prosciutto and a great balsamic sauce. I was gonna save half for later buuuuuut… I just couldn’t help myself!

This place confuses me, and overall, I can’t really figure out what’s wrong. I do enjoy the different style of «bread» in bagel form, it’s unique, but it’s not a bagel. Coffee has always been good, hot or iced. Service varies, and often I’m given a wrong order, either it’s translated wrong to the guy making it, or it’s written down wrong. Don’t really care, as the bagels all taste the same, but it’s worth noting.

I took one look at BBC’s enormous bagels and pretty much wrote them off immediately. I’m a purist: I like my bagels boiled and these are not. I was fearing the worst: a glorified roll with a hole in the middle. Wrong!!! I don’t know how they do it, but the whole grain everything(my «usual») had all the good aspects of a bagel(get it toasted. I love lots of everything on my bagel and there was just the right amount of everything on this one) and none of the bad(somehow I managed to eat the entire thing without feeling like I just dropped a carb bomb in my gut). They have all kinds of cream cheeses and tofu cream cheeses(I like olive). Service was really nice, despite the fact that there was a line out the door. Coffee could have been better, but that’s my only gripe and I’m notoriously hard to please in that regard. I usually give up all hope if it’s not a top notch coffeehouse anyway. The bagels(and tempting breads/muffins) are all you need concentrate on anyway.
