Nice place for dinner. The welcome and the food are good.

the calamari is pretty much straight off the generic grocery store freezer rack. though their take on marinara was interesting, it was almost like an Indian curry. the burgers we had, lamb & bijan, were fine. nothing to write home about. the service was very peculiar. it was somewhat busy [12−15 people] for a friday afternoon, and one man was tasked with being bartender, waiter, busy boy and host. so i would be in a mood as well. but then that falls on the ownership to employ more people. wouldn’t come back.

Decided to give this place another chance. Unfortunately I came during lunch time and I really wanted to try the Salmon. So I decided to go with the Spice Chicken Sandwich and Calamari as an appetizer. The calamari was nasty and the chicken was HARD. Why is it that the CHICKENISALWAYSSOHARD? It felt like eating a rock! This is my second complaint about the chicken being hard. The wait for the food is annoying. I also requested a seat by the Windows but the Polish waitress said supposedly it was reserved. I was in the restaurant for an hour and 30 minutes and the restaurant was DEAD. I DONOTRECOMMENDTHISPLACEATALL. This was my last time here. Goodbye & farewell.

Ever since the new year chimed in, I made a commitment to cook more at home and eat out less. Reasons for that are as follows: A) cost effectiveness B) for the health aspect of it C) I got fed up with a lot of mediocrities of food a lot of these restaurants are serving I am so happy I stumbled into Bijan. Usually I find fault in a lot of food and think to myself, «how could I possibly make this better?» «Could I replicate this at home?» I don’t think I could for any of the food at Bijan. Everything was flavored perfectly, cooked perfectly and most importantly — what I found most impressive had clean flavored. My cousin and I went on a Friday night and it was packed. We ordered the wings that had this sauce that was so complex and delicious. It was a combination of buffalo wing sauce and some sort of Asian sweet and sour taste that was just out of this world. Their eggplant and garlic mezze was delightful but alas myself being a garlic feen would’ve added more garlic. My cousin then ordered the lamb burger. It was reminiscent to me of Turkish kofte in terms of flavor. Delicious! It is served with sweet potato fries that are seasoned deliciously and with parsley. Sweet potato fries came mandatory with the burger. Restaurants take notes! Sweet potato fries over regular fries any day. An interesting star of our evening was the pickle-tini. A martini with your choice of either gin and vodka with cornichon pickles and pickle juice. It was so clean and deeeeelish. I ordered two. The prices at this joint are great as well. I can’t wait to try this place for brunch. It’s been awhile since I was impressed by restaurant food. Thanks Peter D for the recommendation!

I had dinner at Bijan’s last night, we made a reservation for 7pm, which we definitely didn’t need to since it was relatively empty, that being said, it was a cute place that had a fire burning in their fireplace, which added to the cozy atmosphere. For dinner we split the Persian spiced chicken wings as an Ap which were delicious and very crispy! I had the lime, sumac, rosemary chicken for my main which was as expected, but good, and the chicken was moist! The Haricots Verts were undercooked but the truffle mashed potatoes were delicious. My dinner companion had the veggie burger which was underwhelming, it was a potato patties served with french fries, so Potato on Potato overload!!! The service was low key and un-intrusive. Overall it was a pleasant experience, but I am not salivating to return.

Pretty solid spot tucked away in BK. Service is really friendly. Decent beer selection. The flatbreads were really good, as were the fries. Steak was not cooked right and the cocktails were meh. I’d recommend Bijan’s if you’re in the mood for a low key night.

ALERT!!!: We absolutely had to come back for brunch 2 weeks ago… And I have to say, it was fantastic once again! I can’t see how other people are posting about bad food?! It’s delicious! And the price is unbeatable! The servers are always attentive and super kind! We had a vegetarian in our group and they made every possible substitution! It was GREAT! I give Bijans a super duper A+! Thank you guys for doing such a great job! My father was most happy with his steak!!! And my mother in law with her Persian omelette! Ps: where else can you find such amazing food and cocktails for $ 15 frickin dollars!!! LOVEIT!

Wow, what an unexpectedly horrible experience. It started off quite nicely; warm décor, cool atmosphere, initially attentive server. She took a drink and food order and served the drinks in a timely fashion – and then the evening imploded. Two burgers were delivered to the table prior to the appetizers, and one of the burgers had the wrong type of cheese. When we alerted the server that the apps had not been served she made a non-sensical excuse and offered to take the burgers back! We elected to send one back for the correct cheese and kept the other. As it turned out, both of the burgers were cooked beyond well done when medium was requested. We sent them back to be prepared again but were told that they were out of burgers. My lamb burger was served and was properly cooked to temperature – 1 for 3 on burgers. The fourth entrée was not served and after a few minutes we inquired as to where it was. The look on her face gave it away – she completely forgot to order the kabobs even though she spent a great deal of time lobbying for them when my friend was debating about what to order. At this point the bartender walked back toward the kitchen and loudly yelled offensive expletives to his kitchen staff. We told the server that we no longer wanted the forgotten kabobs, nor did we want to reorder anything to replace the burgers. My friend suggested that we should not have to pay for the food. Minutes later the bartender marched up to the table and angrily confronted us as to why we thought we should not have to pay for our drinks. We, however, never made such a request. My friend got into a rather heated debate and stormed out. It was a complete breakdown. And what perhaps makes the situation even worse is that despite all of the mistakes, no trace amount of remorse or regret was displayed. A simple, «I am very sorry,» goes a long way.

Buyer Beware!!! I have never written a negative Unilocal review but there is a first for everything and Bijan worked hard to earn this one star rating! There were 4 in our party we ordered 2 apps, 3 med burgers, and a kabob. After a 20 minute wait 2 of the burgers arrived — we asked about the apps — the waitress offered to take the burgers back and go get the apps. We opted to keep our meal only to find the cheese was wrong on one burger and both were«very well» done. The 3rd burger showed up and was good — cooked to order. Meanwhile the apps showed up. We sent the burgers back only to find that they were out of patties. We declined ordering anything else. The fourth order(kabob) never showed! Out of four orders one customer received their meal correctly. After sharing our disgust with the management we landed up just paying for the drinks. Not a great compensation when you consider only one meal was eaten!!!

Was there last night(Saturday), it was such a charming, warm, and intimate bar without feeling cramped. I loved the Moroccan lanterns and the reclaimed wood tables! Perfect for a date… music not overly loud, dimly lit, and relaxed. Bartender was friendly and attentive, drinks were delicious. I’d definitely go back and try the food.

When a daytime BBQ leads to late night hunger and no reservations Bijan’s is the place. Heading out to get something to eat on a Saturday with perfect weather brings out the entire borough aka lines and waits everywhere. Somewhere in from a distance someone mentioned Bijan’s and at this point of the night I was not one to argue. The Good: Chill décor Decent cocktails aka borderline artisan Friendly staff Decent late night menu Decent burger Intimate, but not intimidating intimate The Okay: Pulled pork was basically slathered in sugar sauce. I wouldn’t recommend it. The presentation was decent. I will check Bijan’s again for brunch or after work drinks.

I came to this place for a meeting, I’m not from the area but I found it relatively easily. The décor is kinda trendy, which I’m not typically a fan of but it kinda works. The bar has quite a few seats for the size of the place and there is a large selection of signature cocktails. The staff’s personable and has no issues with giving suggestions. I came for a meeting and was stood up :/no Bueno but I decided to stay for a beer and some food since it was dinner time and I was pretty far from home(Harlem). I got the lagunitas pilsner which I’m a huge fan of and the wings from the enthusiastic suggestion of the bartender. The wings were so good. I’m hugely picky about my wings I don’t like a lot of them. They are like a whole other food group to me. These were delicious and a nice departure, spice-wise, from the traditional wings I usually eat. I would definitely«trek» here from work. I would maybe have to be going out in Brooklyn to make it here from home, but regardless I will be back and it’s probably unfortunate that the first things I tried here were the wings because I will likely never get anything else. Plus, great tunes!

I work around the corner so I come here pretty often. Either for their amazing happy hour or for dinner with friends. My favorite drink is the Gimme More with vodka, it’s strong and refreshing. The bartenders make great drinks and are very funny. We always have a few laughs together :) And the food! The prices are hard to beat for the quality and awesomeness of the food. I love the Beet salad with goat cheese and the Basil shrimp with spaghetti squash and they have the best Hanger steak frites. Delicious! I don’t even miss my ranch dressing when I eat there :) Check out their brunch as well. I had a big burger with fries, coffee and a ginger margarita for $ 15 there. It’s this cute neighborhood place with a lot of cool regulars, great service and awesome food. One of my favorites.

Disappointed. I came here about two months ago for dinner and although my partner wasn’t amused(drinks aren’t great and the fried calamari is very tender and thin) I did like the chicken and I decided to order it for pick up. I was told it would be about 15 minutes on the phone and although I was patient, it actually took a little over half hour. The thing is the website lists the chicken breast as $ 14 and they charged me $ 18 plus tax. I wasn’t going to say anything, but there were much more lows here than highs so I asked and the bartender asked if I got it off another site. I said no, the Bijans site, but she said they couldn’t do anything about. I honestly just wanted to go, but you cannot charge a higher price than what you quote.

Hoyt Street by Atlantic Avenue is one of my favorite little strips in Boerum Hill and a huge breath of fresh air from the overwhelming Fulton Mall. I use to work in the area and would stop by Bijan’s for lunch. I love the array of Persian lanterns hanging over the bar and the multi colored bar stools are adorable. The place has a variety of seating from a little high up cozy window spot to family style sitting or a romantic table for two by the baby fire place. My favorite spot to sit at would definitely be at the bar and away from the window. Now you know so if I come in you better move out of my seat. The super sweet tattooed mixologist William kills it in the cocktail department. All you have to do is name your poison, mine is always gin and he will mix you a cocktail for your specific taste buds. I love to come here for brunch, get a simple two eggs over medium with potatoes and toast. My brother and I brunch a lot and toast and jam are not just a side they are the cherry on top. The great thing about Bijan is that there is no jam… it’s .drum roll please.compote. I know nerdy Unilocaly needs! The compote is perfectly sweetened fruit mixture and is the perfect ending to breakfast. I still have to come back and try the pancakes. They always look spectacular. I also judge a brunch spot by my water and coffee refills. William took care of both on top of my boozy brunch needs. And it doesn’t hurt that he’s absolutely hilarious and always in a good mood. I can’t stand it when I pay for an experience and someone is grumpy. I definitely recommend coming here weekends with a group, date night or just by yourself.

ALERT: Prepare for major embarrassment if you bring an out-of-town guest here for brunch. Total Fail. I truly question the palate of Unilocal reviewers who gave Bijan’s 3 or more stars for Brunch. It was awful. We went with the pre-fix brunch menu and asked the server for recommendations. We ordered the two dishes that we were told were«amazing»: The Saffron-Semolina Pancakes and the Breakfast Pizza with Eggs Sunny Side Up. I also ordered the Bijan Mary. 1) Bijan-Mary: It tasted like Campbell’s tomato juice mixed with a little vodka. Completely uneventful. 2) Saffron-Semolina Pancakes: They were not bad, they were disgusting. Imagine the smell of yeast and pancake batter with a hint of saffron. They *smelled* and tasted like that. Plus they were very dry, did I mention tasteless? I do not like wasting food, so I *tried* I really did. I got 3 – 4 bites in. In the end, we could not stomach them. 3) Flatbread Breakfast Pizza: It was like one of those flatbread pizzas, wtih cheap ingredients that you find around Times Square. Palatable, nothing new or special. The bread was not fresh … it reminded me of one of those frozen flatbread pizzas from Totino’s that you may have had(unfortunately) in Middle School. Also, after asking for a glass of water 2 times, I finally received it within the last 5 minutes of the meal… But my brunch guest did not receive hers. Never again.

Me and a fellow fashion law girlfriend came here to chat about… fashion and law(lol)… around happy hour. –The drinks are STRONG. I actually didn’t really drink much of mine because I had somewhere to be after(#lightweight4lyfe), but they were good. –Mixed drinks are BOGO free. Some wines are 50% off during happy hour.(until 7pm) –The place was PACKED. Even though we were taking up a table of 2 and only ordered drinks, the waitress was still very friendly and kept her«wtf man» to a minimum without ever hurrying us out the door. For this, I tipped her $ 6 on a $ 10ish tab. Thank you, waitress in plaid shirt! –The atmosphere is a mix of pretentious-tribeca and hipster-williamsburg. It sort of reminded me of a co-working space for techies except with better-dressed people and better lighting décor. Plus… fireplace! This review probably makes me sound like a snob or a Unilocal elite-wannabe. I’m not, I promise! I WILL be back to Bijan’s though.

We were able to schedule a party of 10 on a Saturday night. The waitress and the manager(maybe owner?) offered good service even though it was a busy night. The Persian spiced chicken wings were very good. The best way to describe them is tangy curry wings. My friend’s salmon was pretty darn good. Very moist. My Bijan burger was good. Nothing fantastic but satisfying. The lamb burger was delicious. My only complaint about the burgers is the inconsistency. The medium lamb was cooked more than my medium well Bijan burger. Overall, I had a good experience.
