Came here for a week night birthday gathering. I like the half indoor-half outdoor atmosphere. Not too busy at all, no overbearingly loud music… very chill. And with $ 20 Tecate buckets, you can’t go wrong. No customer service issues to report as per some of these other reviews below mine… bartender was great and even slipped us a couple birthday shots. Now the food: I feel that the flavors and spice profiles this establishment is using are on point! Everything’s got a little kick to it and I love that. The wings left my nose nice and stuffy just the way they should. My critique would be for everything to be cooked a bit more well done… if there wings were a little less wet with chunky Jerk seasoning and the jerk fries were a little crunchier instead of droopy, I think it would be a home run. Overall, a fun time for me.

This is the most garbage spot, customer service wise I have ever been too. From the dude with the high top fade bus boy, who when my fiends asked if there was a «designated smoking section» he said yes, outside… but I prefer you go home… Or when he rudely came over without ever offering one but of customer service the entire evening(mind you every drink and piece of food we ordered, we got up and went to the bar to order and get it ourselves the whole night) and told us to leave the bday table we had reserved and spent a lot of money at over the course of 3+ hours and shoved us into a 6 person max booth…(Also note the table we left no party ever came to sit down at for almost and hour)… Then pointed at me(at the new table) without saying a word… To a «reserved» sign he would like me to hand him — but never said anything just pointed his finger and arm over and over across our table, like I worked there… Instead of politely asking me to hand it to him… to the wack ass wanna be ID taker(I won’t even give you the title of «bouncer» because you’re 5 ft nothing ass ain’t worth it) at the front door. I stepped 3 feet(not even down the stairs) and he’s harassing me, chasing me, hostilely, back into the restaurant, for my ID. I didn’t think I needed to show him my ID as I literally hadn’t even left the restaurant yet… He just wanted to exert some sort of control to ask me for my ID when I literally had the receipt in my hands for over $ 100+ dollars I spent and had just paid for at the bar… Disgusting service and staff… Like who does that? And for what point was it to literally RUN around me, and block me from coming in a restaurant I had never left, … as I was walking back in, as if I had snuck in or done something bad or wrong? We all went to celebrate a dear friends bday and for hours we spend a lot of money here … And when I tell you every single human minus the bar tender with the long pony tail and other blonde bartender, were horrible… They were some of the worst customer service /waiters/bus boys I have ever had… I wouldn’t piss on these people if they were on fire. The owner of this spot should actually fire the aforementioned staff members because never in my life have we, as a group, not just me… received such horrible, disrespectful, tacky, ill mannered service. Garbage. Peh…(Sound of me spitting on this place)… Will never return and you should never go.

So cute. I went here with my BF of over 3 yrs now … We are total introverts and aren’t the bar/club type but I looooooved this place… It’s really nice on a weekend night especially the outdoor setting to stay outside, have a drink, smoke a cigarette, and just talk. The food was ok. Pretty cheap. I probably though would eat prior to coming here next time.

The bartender whose face can’t move and is expressionless tried to rip me off by not closing my tab because I hadn’t reached the minimum. When I got cash out and asked another bartender to close my tab, I had already exceeded the minimum. So Ken Doll was just being an asshole.

The bar is less interesting than just about any other bar within walking distance. The food is an afterthought. Union Pool, Over The Eight, and Sugarburg are within a few blocks and have much more interesting bars and better food.

I was in the neighborhood and came across a nice bright arrow beckoning me and my Husband to come on inside! It was relatively empty at 4pm on a Friday and they had a good selection of craft beers — décor seemed very Florida-Miami-Esque in the 70s 80s — tiki bar style. I had the jerk dusted fries and the fish tacos and the tofu wrap — good vegetarian selection — a little spicy though but love the overall taste and amount of sauce in the wrap and taco — they also have DJs every sat and sun until 4am! You have to stop by when u get a chance!

I Love coming here for brunch! I always get the biscuits and gravy and a frozen dark and stormy, both delicious. I think you can eat outside in the summer too. I really love the décor, its like kind of this quasi industrial style mixed with bright pops of color with a Caribbean undertone. The wait staff is super friendly, informative a quick. I would recommend this place 100%!

Such a great ambience to this spot. However, unfortunately the food did not live up to expectations. I had the jerk chicken main meal(2⁄5) and cup of corn chowder(3.5÷5). I will preface that with the fact that I do not like spicy food and did not realize that both would be pretty spicy, so you may have a better assessment if you do like spicy food. Despite that though, neither tasted especially good to me. My boyfriend who likes spicy food also felt pretty meh about his meal. However, I would absolutely go back specifically to have a few drinks there. I did not get a drink, but their menu looked good and they have a fantastic space. It’s large and festive looking with a lot of cool decorations. The waiters were also very friendly and the service was good. It may fit better as a drinks spot for me personally.

The mango mimosa’s are the best. Friendly staff and great music. I had the eggs any style breakfast with sweet potato hash. Perfection!

I’ve come to Battery Harris a handful of times, but this was only the second time I’ve eaten here. My friend and I had an 830pm reservation for a Friday night, we showed up on time and were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated right away. Once seated our server came over and brought some waters and took our drink orders. We were coming out to grab dinner and have a few drinks, for food we both got the pulled brisket and the jerk chicken tacos with the jerk fries to split. It’s a Caribbean inspired/style restaurant so most of the food has a spice to it. I don’t really like spicy so maybe ordering jerk anything for me wasn’t a good idea, but my friend loved everything, I also thought the food was good, but next time I’ll ask them to turn down the heat on mine LOL. We also kept ordering pitchers of coors light and our server was really attentive with coming back over to see if we wanted another. By about 10pm they don’t have waiter service anymore, so we had to close out our tab and open another one with the bar. It’s gets pretty busy in there and has a good late night crowd with a good DJ. Overall Battery Harris is a fun place to eat and a fun place to go out at night. I’ll 100% be back.

If only Battery Harris weren’t in Billyburg, I could totally see it being my go to spot for a fun night out… Cute kitschy island décor, great drinks, chill vibe, diverse crowd, decent number of bathrooms, and a dance floor with great energy! There were a few moments where I feel like the DJ lost the crowd but overall a nice mix of old school hip hop/pop. Pros: double-sided bar so you’re not stuck desperately staring at bartenders for what seems like hours even when it gets crowded, outdoor back space to take in some second hand smoke/get your nicotine fix/catch your breath from too much dancing

OK fine. I didn’t have any of their food. Only their dark & stormy frozies and a beer they had on tap. But I can say their frozies are strong and the vibe here is very chills. I like their layout– open space in the middle with booths on the outskirts and a bar(constructed out of a trailer I think?) on the opposite end. I’d go back with a group of friends. The music is low enough for you guys to hold a conversation and the light is dim so that it’s not awkwardly bright. The crowd def does not get rowdy

Went here for a quick bite when we were running out of choices — luckily we chose well. We pregamed with some patties, sweet potato fries and a jerk chicken sandwich — all delicious The drinks were also top notch — including my tequila based Ultimate Warrior. The vibe was great — cool décor and good music. And our server was awesome.

Solid dinner place if you’re a Jamaican food amateur like myself. The boyfriend and I came here for dinner tonight and we had a good time – he had the oxtail while I went for the jerk chicken sandwich. We shared a side of candied plantains and the jerk wings appetizers. Note: the jerk wings and the jerk chicken are the same. Thankfully my boyfriend are most of the wings while I was hooked on the plantains. The slight kick in the jerk rub paired nicely with the chicken and the fries. Our server was fast, friendly and checked in on us continually to make sure things were going well. The food was hot and delicious – the portion was a very good size and we cleared all of our plates. There are very cute booths to sit at, and the décor is irresistibly cute! There’s also an adorable patio area that some brave souls dared venture out into while we’re still reeling from this first blast of cold weather. Warning: the bathrooms are horrid and dirty. I’m not a germaphobe but I was sketched out. Another warning: you have to open a tab when having a drink while eating– not even when you’re just chilling at the bar. Is this becoming a thing now? Have I missed something? But at the end our awesome waiter forgot that we’d opened a tab – oh no)):

I’m not from the Caribbean but I know Caribbean food better than I know the back of my hand. With that said let me tell you why this place is NOT my preferred type of Caribbean food. The menu has limited options(in my opinion). When I think Caribbean I don’t automatically attach it to jerk EVERYTHING. That’s what this place should be classified as… jerk Caribbean(if that’s even an option). If you could have jerk prayer they’ll serve that up too. I had the jerk calamari, jerk wings, and jerk tofu sandwich. That much jerk you would think I’d need water and guess what… totally didn’t need it. I like fire! Heat so hot in your mouth even your saliva is irritating your sensitive tongue. This place didn’t deliver that type of jerk though. The food was mediocre more so food labeled in a way that ppl who are not familiar with Caribbean cuisine, would definitely believe that it is a flavorful American type style dish. Creative I must say but it just didn’t do anything for me. I enjoyed my drink a lot it was called the«Dee Liner» and it was so refreshing. The jerk salad was good as well. What gives this place a plus is the outside seating… it’s so chill and comfortable it’s like a cute little outing with beach chairs and your favorite friends. I’ll come here again for drinks but won’t be too quick to come back for a meal.

I can recommend Battery Harris for their brunch menu. They have a great pre fixe option which includes an entrée, juice, and coffee/tea for a price that beats out a lot of their entee only options. I really enjoyed their patio which has colorful décor and lots of seating. I went here for a repeat visit on a hot summer day, however, and chose to sit inside. Unfortunately, the air conditioning is awful and they only have fans in some sections of the restaurant. I’d go back for food and drinks but I’ll avoid a super hot day.

Caribbean Food in Williamsburg This place has a fun indoor /outdoor vibe that does making it seem like you are really in the Caribbean. I’ve been here a few times for brunch and usually go for the food, coffee, and beverage combo. The Jerk Chicken Sandwich here is stellar and very filling. The Oxtail Hash was a bit too fatty for my taste. Drinks are good and service is on point. Will be back

Restaurant names in NY are so interesting. Who would have thought that Battery Harris is a Caribbean inspired restaurant? Or maybe I’m just not culturally astute. Anywho, I really enjoyed the patio here. It’s cute, sort of eclectic. There’s a random bike thing in the corner, a few booths, a canopy, and lots of vibrant colors. I don’t feel like I’m sitting in the middle of a large city. I like it. I tried the habanero Caesar salad with jerk marinated tofu, a side of jerk dusted fries, and the elote. I was really excited about the salad, I wasn’t sure what to expect with the habanero. It was gooood! Not too spicy, you can taste the pepper, but it wasn’t overwhelming. The tofu was the star. It had a crispy skin, but soft and silky in the middle, and the jerk sauce was delicious. Fries were crispy as well, although I didn’t taste much of the jerk. However, they had a bottle of their jerk sauce on the table that I used to dip my fries in. I liked their sauce so much I bought a bottle for $ 11 at a meat market across the street. Elote was on point. Loved the green stuff they slathered on it, some herby stuff I think. I could have eaten two orders of the elote. I liked the beer selection, lots of options. The bill came with a postcard, I didn’t know those were still in existence. I sent it off to my boyfriend when I got back to my friends house. It’s such a cute idea. My only gripe was that the service was slow. She was super friendly, but there was only 2 other tables beside us, and it still took a bit of time on the drinks.

I had high expectations for Battery Harris but unfortunately I was let down. Where should we start? Upon entering, I noticed it was not pack at all for what’s suppose to be a Sunday brunch. A gentleman was kind enough to seat us but took about 5 – 7 minutes to hand over menus. I ordered the brunch pancakes with rum raisin and maple syrup. That was great! No complaints there. I also ordered a sweet potato and brisket patty. What a let down! No flavor! The brisket was also tough. If you took a bite the patty just fell apart. My friend ordered the jerk chicken entrée and the waitress came back with a jerk chicken sandwich! SMH she was nice about it and genuinely felt bad. I wasn’t a fan of when she left her shift without notifying us that we will be having a new server. Sadly I don’t think I’ll be back.
