Jake is honestly the real deal. I was very fortunate to have taken a few lessons from him while he was in SF and it was truly amazing. The man can play Classical, Jazz, Latin Jazz, Funk, RnB, Blue Grass, Swing and SALSA! Lets be honest, the man is a wizard on the BASS! LOL
I would definitely recommend him to anyone young and old. I was able to pick up a bass and play in a matter of wks! If thats not MAJOR improvement (seeing as I’m originally a drummer) LOL than I don’t what is. GET LESSONS FROM THS MAN NOW!
He is definitely worth every penny and he’s a SUPER nice dude too! :)

Jake Leckie is the full package. He is well educated in music and knows his stuff. He is experienced with all genres of music and respects them equally, so no matter what your interests he is qualified to help you. Jake makes the whole experience very fun but also takes the music very seriously, so you make progress very quickly while also having a blast. I took lessons with him during his time at Loyola University Maryland and was thoroughly impressed with how he balanced every aspect of the music. With his knowledge of classical music and theory, his passion for jazz and live performance, his experience with recording all genres of music, and his general awesomeness, he is guaranteed to be the right bass teacher for you. Not to mention he’s adorable. Go Jake Leckie!
