I used to live nearby(17th Ave) and would buy my sausages, etc. from Bari. I am now in Santa Fe, NM, and whenever I am in NY visiting, or someone comes to visit me from NY, they have to stop at Bari to bring my a dozen sausages plus a Pizza Rustica, which is the best I ever had. My neighbors in Santa Fe cannot wait until I get my NY package as we all get together for dinner with the food from Bari. Wonderful.

I love the rice balls from Bari’s. I knew about this pork store from Avenue U in Brooklyn. I used them to cater in Staten Island years ago and was very happy with everything I ordered.

It’s always a pleasure going here! The place is very neat and clean. The food is always fresh and delicious! A true classic and gem of Bensonhurst!

Bari Pork Store is where I go to get Bensonhurst’s best Italian sausage: both sweet links(no fennel!) and skinny pinwheels(with cheese & parsley!), and also dried sausage for antipasto(but I pick out a soft one). Also, they make the best fresh mozzarella and fresh ricotta in Brooklyn, if you ask me. Get cold cuts here too: mortadella, capicola, prosciutto, sopressata, et al., and sundry specialty groceries. 18th Ave &64th St, Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Unfortunately, Bensonhurst has been slowly losing the old-fashioned Italian meat stores. I hope this place stays around. I come here for sausages, cured meats, and generally most Italian goods for cooking. They have a diverse import product selection: pastas, sauces, canned goods, seasonings, beverages, dried goods. Also have many antipasti available. I think the prices are reasonable(not very cheap, not very expensive), service is competent and friendly.

this is my source for star porcini bouillon cubes from italy that are, unaccountably, difficult to find here. this was b.i.: or before internet [or should it be ‘before web’?] i used to have to order them from whomever was going to italy next. darlingly, the word ‘cube’ in italian is ‘dadi’. great salami here too, not surprisingly, & friendly owners.
