Soooo yummy. I’ve only had food delivered from this spot and it was insanely good. The owner is a doll, and the food is to-die-for. I have only one more thing to say: Go!

I had good experiences dining in but my takeout order this past time was annoying. I noticed as they were bagging my food up there wasn’t any sauce with the meatballs, which is how it comes when you eat in. He gave me a Togo sauce. When I got home I dumped it on the meatballs and then realized they are all completely and totally raw inside. I called for a refund and they said they would deliver them to me, ok that’s great! 20 minutes later meatballs show up without any sauce! Pitas and stick Greek food delivery is consistent so I guess I’ll just be ordering from them for take out from now on.

Really strong service that has the capability to shift your attention away from the small sized dishes.

One of the best Greek restaurants I’ve been to. Had the haloumi platter, veggie mousaka, lentils and the most amazing lemon potatoes. On top of that, the staff is incredibly gracious. We were one of those awful tables waiting for over an hour for the other half of our party and they never made us feel unwelcome. In fact they even brought us complimentary tzaziki and pita. This place rocks.

Have been twice and meals were absolutely delicious both times. Quick and friendly service. Fairly priced. We recently moved to the neighborhood and I have a feeling that Avlee will be our go-to for grub!

A truly greek experience, family owned and family run. Delicious food, go for the fig rolls as a starter and then celebrate with everything else, including the greek fries! We always leave happier than when we arrived, and we never leave hungry! By far, our favorite place in the hood. This where we get our comfort food.

Fried smelt and octopus appetizer were the hands-down winners at our dinner tonight. Really excellent. Very good service, clean, appealing space. We’ll be back.

I’ve always wanted to try them out and I happened to stop by for lunch recently. Really nice atmosphere and I had the lamb gyro which was pretty tasty. Not too full yet just enough. The sauce and lamb were a great blend on the pita bread and the veggies were a nice touch. I’d head back for something else on the menu soon. Their chicken soup is amazing. Gotta say I love this place for its small bouts of treats. Keep it up guys:)

the prices are really good for the portion, i have had take out and eaten in the restaurant and both times it was a great and fantastic experience. The Lamb is so juicy and tasty, the spinach and rice side is amazing. The guy waiter is so nice and gives great advice on the food choices. Cant wait to come back and try more yummy things.

I was notified by the restaurant that they would be comping my meal and were very apologetic. That goes a long way with me and I’ll give them another try if the opportunity arises. We all have off days

Recently we return from a physically and spiritually revitalizing, dream vacation to The Greek Islands and the first week back is just as you’d imagine: deeply depressing. To remedy the sadness we felt, on day three we head to Avlee to find our bliss. Naturally we’re craving the«authentic» Greek food we had everyday in Crete, Naxos and Paros. Chicken Souvlaki and Gyro, though tasty and respectable options, were just not going to cut it! We needing some heavy-hitting, spirit restoring food. So we splurged and ordered the Grilled Whole Mediterranean Sea Bass, the glorious Half Roasted Chicken, Fava appitizer, Eggplant spread, and their amazing fries with lemon and mustard sauce — to die for! The fish is an absolute winner! Delicate, beautifully seasoned with lemon and fresh herbs, so much better than you thought possible(We’re in NY after all not Santorini or Italy) We are so so so happy! The chicken is crispy skinned and falling off-the-bone tender inside. The fries are a dream. The Assyrtiko wine is just perfect with the fish, clean, crisp, with just the right minerallity. All the sides are tasty and I strongly recommend the Fava spread if you haven’t tried it before. If you are health conscious or a vegetarian, this will be your new go-to guilt free indulgence. Lastly the hospitality and warmth of the owners makes this place so much more special than the dozens of trendy, easy to forget places on Smith and Court. This is a real gem!

The food is very very good(not amazing) but very good. What I do love though is how they seem to make every dish flavorful and every dish seems so fresh and I guess cared-for in a way. It’s relaxed service and they bring the food out as it comes. The menu is so enormous there’s a ton of different things to try. Most of it feels like it’s on the healthier liter side too. But you can select pricier fish entrée options or just do something simple and more affordable like a souvlaki/gyro kinda thing. I can’t emphasis enough how insanely large this menu is for the size of the restaurant and in this case that its vastness isn’t detrimental to the execution of the food. Hard to find Greek food in general and one of the better places in Carroll Gardens.

Had lunch at Avlee Greek Kitchen with the family yesterday… it’s more of a 3.5 star place to be honest. Here are my thoughts: Ambiance is great. The place is clean and the décor is nice. Service is friendly and fast. Food is good for the most part– – Chicken Souvlaki looked good but both the husband and daughter deemed it very dry. – Accompany okra and fries were excellent. – Greek salad was fresh and delicious. – Artichoke /Lentils weren’t the best. It was just a giant bowl of mush. – Lemon potatoes were mushy and terrible. The kitchen was nice enough to take this back. Overall we enjoyed our lunch but as we’ve definitely had better Greek food in Manhattan it’s unlikely we’ll return.

Came here because the wait at The Buttermilk Channel was obnoxious as per usual. Did not have high expectations but was very pleasantly surprised. It made me feel like I was inside the home of a wonderful Greek family who ensured that I was fed and fed well. Ordered the Greek salad and chicken souvlaki platter with a side of the most delicious Greek fries with feta cheese and truffle oil. I think this place is underrated and needs to be explored more.

Probably the best Greek food I’ve ever had. The meats are cooked to perfection. The service was amazing too, some of the best I’ve seen for NY. The server(Diana) was super helpful and a joy to work with. Will be back for sure!!!

Avlee is beautiful & delicious — I am Greek and grew up with a lot of these foods so take it from me. The food are all Greek style dishes and are cooked beautifully. I happen to know that Avlee is a family business and I love knowing that I’m getting a traditionally Greek experience every time I go there. The taramasalata & tzatziki sauces are to die for. You can get the pita chips either grilled or fried(get them fried –OMG). The gyro is the real thing, just like you would get in Greece. Slouvakia are pork, chicken, or lamb — the lamb is great. The salads are all super fresh & organic. The oven-cooked food is delicious! FYI — as winter approaches, ask for the Avgolemono soup!!!

The restaurant next door was too busy so we decided to try this one… It was serendipity! Delicious, fresh, fast, lovely. We will definitely be coming back. We loved the crab cakes, squid salad, lamb souvlaki, egg lemon chicken soup. The pita is hot and nice too. I would drive here from Bed Stuy for some great Greek food like this.

What a lovely evening! I dined here recently and we enjoyed our experience. The food was good and the service was even better. I will say that the service and servers were amazing. They were super attentive and checked to make sure that our meal experience was a satisfactory one. We started with the meatballs which were seasoned well. And went on to the lamb and beef gyros. The meal ended with the rice pudding which while tasty was a little undercooked. All in all, a wonderful way to end the evening and I will definitely be back!

Oh, Avlee. I’m so glad I found you. It was a late afternoon and my dad and I were tired, dehydrated, and seriously craving gyros. Like, ferociously craving. Hangry. So we ordered three mezze(fava mani– which is essentially hummus but grittier, melitzanosalata– aka babaganoush, and tzatziki), followed by lamb gyro sandwiches. My mouth was so happy. Everything was so fresh and delicious. I just don’t know what else to say. The gyro totally killed it! I can’t wait to come back and try more menu items. Avlee is definitely not what I’d call a romantic antic date spot, but it’s got a refreshing family-run atmosphere. And the service is very doting. Basically, it’s everything acute little Brooklyn restaurant should be(think water served in mason jars) minus the pretentiousness. If you want good Greek food, go.

BESTGREEKFOODHANDSDOWN! And yes the caps were necessary. I randomly stumbled into this place one day while strolling down Smith street. I was super hungry but wanted a semi healthy option. Avlee, with its cute table window, lured me in based on décor alone. White tables with a single flower center piece and clean modern light fixture make this place super cute. There was a lamb roasting halal style behind the counter. That along with the décor kept me there. I order a chicken slovaki platter which comes with two sides. I choose grilled veggies and greek fries. The veggies were mainly peppers and zucchini. Yum yum yum. And the best part of the meal was the Greek Fries. Feta cheese and truffle oil on top of crispy potatoes. Sooo good. The platter is more than enough for one person. You could probably split it between two and be full, but being that I’m greedy I stuffed myself and ate the entire thing. Overall this spot is awesome. Quick service, well seasoned dishes, and a good selection of classic Greek dishes. Tables are small so not good for large groups.
