I really should have written this review a long time ago as I come back here every time my children need new shoes. A hoe Grows in Brooklyn is genuinely the best shoe store that I have come across for my kids. My parents always paid a lot of attention to the quality of our footwear and I guess that has rubbed off on me too. It is the one part of my kids’ wardrobe that I will always spend that little bit extra on. A Shoe Grows in Brooklyn always has a fantastic selection of quality shoes in a variety of styles and sizes. There is everything from a fancy mary jane to a typical run around in the playground sneaker. I love that whenever I go in, I can always find something that suits the seasons, the preferences of myself and the tastes of my children. Kelly, the store owner really is the star of the show when it comes to our experiences here. She is genuine, warm and absolutely fantastic with the kids. She remembers us by name and greets us all with such pleasure. She is also a mum herself who understands the numerous parental requests and the children’s often displeasure at having to try on numerous pairs of shoes! Each year her selection gets better and I know that she spends a lot of time at shoe fairs getting to know the newer brands and their philosophies. I feel that whatever we buy from her is reasonably priced for the quality and never feel pressured into buying something that may not be right for us. In the three years we’ve been buying here, we had one problem with a seam coming undone on a shoe and Kelly saw that it was replaced at no cost to us and without hesitation. We had another instance where the shoe we bought for our daughter just didn’t fit her correctly and again, Kelly found a solution for us and dealt with it so well. There is a fantastic little play area to entertain the kids whilst you browse or you’re waiting to be served. On the weekend it can be busy, but during the week we’re always seen quickly. The children are also often given and sticker and/or a balloon when we leave. It’s the little things that have been so well thought out here. Oh, they also have a restroom for customers to use… amazing! I have recommended this store to so many of my friends and will continue to do so. It really is hard to find a shoe store that cares well for little feet and takes time to consider what is appropriate for their age, their personal tastes etc. So, in a nutshell. Go here! You’ll love it.

Kelly helped me out with a pair of shoes that fell apart in less than year. She contacted the manufacturer and got me a store credit so that I could exchange the defective shoes. I really appreciate the help and the customer service!

If customer service was better I would have actually bought a few pairs of shoes. Loose the attitude

What a relief to find a shoe store in park slope that doesn’t destroy my wallet!!! They have a great selection for everyone in my family. Beautiful store spacious and airy. they even have this cute area for toddlers to hang out, i wish they were around when my kids were that young. I’m definitely a repeat customer and every time i come in i leave happy!

We came in here to get my 19 month old sized and Alex who helped us was so patient as we tried on more than a couple of pairs of sneakers and nicely answered my 3 yr old as he pestered her with random questions. They were really helpful in making sure that we found the right pair for my younger child since he is pretty much the same size as his older brother! There is a nice little play area for the kids to keep them entertained, great selection of kids shoes across a lot of brands, See Kai Run, Pedipeds, Tsukihoshi, etc. They also have adult shoes but I didn’t get a chance to see the selection. This was such a difference from Area Kicks Cuts on 5th that I would rather make the trek out here and get such a much better shopping experience with Alex & Lashawn; as well as supporting your local neighborhood store. Thanks ladies for making a normally painful shoe shopping experience actually enjoyable!

Super cute, local shoe shop in the Slope. They bring great shoes to their store — nothing disposable looking — at really reasonable prices. I hope to see A Shoe Grows in Brooklyn growing in the neighborhood for a long, long time.

Really helpful staff; they spent a ton of time with us to pick out baby’s first shoes and gave solid advice too. Left very happy.

Super cute and comfortable shoes, this great spot even has competitive pricing with the same shoes online(cheaper in some instances). Definitely worth checking out.

This is a cute new shoe store and kids clothing store(mostly rainy weather gear) in the slope. Its very organic looking with barrels full of flip flops and brown paper bags hanging in the windows. There’s a small selection of women’s shoes and children’s shoes here.
