I work in Brookline and Virginia’s is by far my favorite lunch spot! The staff is always friendly and welcoming, the service is quick, and everything on the menu is delicious! I would highly recommend Virginia’s to anyone!

Great welcome when I came through the door and very enjoyable breakfast! Went for the #2 bacon, eggs, cheese and toast — very tasty and enjoyable. Only downside was the butter was only a «whipped butter» rather than the real stuff — but it wasn’t a major issue. I’d definitely come back here in the future.

This is by far my favorite sandwich place in Brookline and beyond. The sandwiches are always freshly made, generous, and varied enough to keep me coming back(although I seem to veer towards the #6 and #9 pretty regularly). It’s cozy and quiet, and Arda — the one-woman act who owns and runs this little nook — is fabulous; always so welcoming, remembers her local customers, and makes the most delicious sandwiches and other goodies. This is the kind of place that I feel good supporting — independently owned and run by a hard-working woman who doesn’t compromise on ingredients or service. Yum! Don’t succumb to the Cutty’s hype. Virginia’s is SO much better.

Delicious sandwiches. Bread and ingredients are all fresh. Tried all of their vegetarian options and loved all except one. Love their soups as well. Half and half is a great lunch option. Highly recommend!

This place is perfect. Not only is the food fantastic but the owner is a kind and caring woman. She makes a point of getting to know her customers and greet everyone with a smile. The tuna sandwich is one of the best! I have been going there for years now and have never had a bad meal. It is a great atmosphere for eating in or grabbing food to go. I cannot say enough great things about the food or service. You won’t regret getting your lunch there.

I have been going to Virginia’s for years now and will never get sick of it. From their breakfast, lunch, desserts, and catering everything is always fresh. There’s more than 15 sandwiches which you can choose from. My favorites are: the #9 and #13 and the #4 panini. Their bread isn’t the normal bread you’d see at a sandwich shop, they get it from Clear Flour, which makes the sandwich that much better. They also have daily fresh salads that are great. The mushroom and three mustard potato salads are the best. Great for sharing. Their Anzac cookie(a cookie with coconut and oatmeal and other yummy stuff) is the best. I always make sure to grab one after I eat there. Arda, the owner is very friendly and always provides the best services for her customers. I’ve also have ordered from their Thanksgiving menu and it is to die for! Arda really does a great job of providing some homemade dishes.

After 10 years working in Brookline Village I recently changed jobs and as a result I no longer get to make it into Virginia’s as often as I’d like. The food is fantastic(I especially love the #12 — grilled portabella mushrooms, horseradish spread, smoked Gouda cheese, lettuce & tomato… and I’m not even a vegetarian!), but the service is what really sets the place apart from the rest. Arda always has a huge smile on her face and instantly makes you feel like family.

I have been going to Virginia’s for years, and it never fails to please. It’s family run — the owner is extremely kind, always has a smile and makes the sandwiches herself. Sometimes her husband is there running the cash register — he is just as delightful. The sandwiches themselves are delicious, well priced and extremely high quality. For years the #3(on Clearflour baguette) was my favorite. Lately I’ve been enjoying the grilled chicken shawarma special — it’s a perfect flavor medley. It’s a small place, and I usually get take out. Cannot recommend highly enough. It’s one of Brookline’s gems.

I just love this place!!! I always know where to go when I want a fresh yummy sandwich and a warm cup of coffee. One of this things that always matter to me the most wherever I go is customer service. And I tell you there has never been a time when I walk in there been greeted with a warm smile and welcome. I highly recommend this yummy nook of yummy treats sandwiches, breakfast and more. You have to try it!

Crossed this place a few times and decided to try it. Nice friendly service, but extremely stale chicken in the chicken shawarmas. Just read another review on this thread and maybe they don’t have a fast enough turnover, so food is stale.

Little local sandwich place in Brookline Village that I’ve passed by a countless number of times and so I finally decided to try them out. Nice little store with sandwiches, salads, bakery goods, and etc. Disclaimer: I only tried their chicken Caesar salad so far and will probably go back to try their infamous sandwiches I’ve read so many reviews about: –The salad was pretty cheap, but the quality was average and the portion size was small. The homemade croutons were a bit stale so it didn’t really go well with the rest of the salad, but the zesty dressing was delicious! I probably won’t be ordering their salads again, but I will definitely be back to try one of their sandwiches so keep an eye out for an updated review in the near future! :)

The sandwich was really nice and with fresh ingredients. The place was excellent and quiet. However, it needed a few time to wait for your food.

This cozy sandwich shop provided a perfect break from doing laundry — and a perfect sandwich. The #8 is truly the most amazing BLT I’ve ever eaten! Fresh tomatoes and lettuce drizzled with basil-mayo over a bed of Apple-wood smoked bacon… Place is small — 4 small 2-tops — but sometimes the best presents come in small packages. Oh, and grab a latte while you’re there.

The sandwiches are hand made by the owner with special types of bread offerings that you can’t find somewhere else. Family owned business. Quite reasonably priced.

Love lunch from here. They almost always have a ½ sandwich and a soup special(I think it’s $ 6.50) that is the perfect amount of food and incredibly tasty. I try to always get the lentil soup, which is well-spiced, filling, and thick and the BLT with basil mayo on sourdough. I’ve noticed that they have a lot of vegetarian options. The bread is from Clear Flour which is a bonus and the woman who works(and owns?) here is just really friendly and sweet. This is a local café with high quality food.

Adorable little sandwich shop near my office. Owner is a lovely and very friendly woman who makes all of the sandwich spreads, soups, and sides herself. Bread is fresh from Clear Flour Bakery — great to see local businesses supporting other local businesses. On my most recent visit, I ordered the half-and-half combo: half of a #6 sandwich(roast turkey, sundried tomato and eggplant spread, cucumber, lettuce, and honey mustard) on 7 grain bread, with a cup of lentil soup. All for under $ 7 and so delicious. I might try the grilled portabella sandwich next time. Be advised: not much seating available. Be prepared to take your food to-go if you head in during the busy lunch hour.

I work at home in the Brookline Hills area so I have lunch in the area a lot. This is my most frequented place due to their delicious food, numerous vegetarian options, and super friendly staff. I’m a little addicted to the portobello mushroom sandwich. I have to go get this at least every week or 2.

Their spread is delicious. I had # 9 avocado with grilled chicken and mixed greens on 7-grains. I have been gone to Clear Flour Bakery at least once a week and glad to find local vendors support each other. Sandwich is good size and def would like yo go back to try other options and their sweets!

Virginias make fantastic sandwiches with spreads you may not have thought about. I had the number 6 which is turkey, tomato eggplant spread with cucumber lettuce and honey mustard. They also carry clear flour bread which is great! I had the 7 grain bread with my sandwich. The sandwich had a great combination of flavors and none overpowered another. They worked really well together to create quite the delicious sandwich! 4 stars because there are no public restrooms and they advertise a sandwich/soup special but there is no menu of what soups they may be carrying that day. As well as having different prices from online to the store. Overall, great place to stop and pick up some lunch
