The Studio

There is no doubt that this boutique has uniquely fabulous clothes. The owners and sales people obviously love fashion and have a hip sense of style. IF YOU ARE A «regular» or a «selected shopper,» you will benefit from their expertise. I have been there more than a half a dozen times and every time I have felt like a ghost. On my most recent visit, one of the sales people saw me gathering clothes, put them in a dressing room with my name and that was it. She didn’t ask me if I was «looking for something special»; she never came back to check on me. When I needed a different size shirt, I had to go find her. And all around me, the other «personal shoppers» were being super attentive by helping put together outfits, bringing out new possibilities and watching the clients try on the clothes. I almost always buy some thing, but I leave frustrated. I wasn’t going to write this, but then I mentioned it to a friend and she had had the same disappointing experience.

I have been a Studio customer for a very long time. And I have looked «put together» for a very long time, thanks to the Studio. I literally don’t shop anywhere else for clothing. Sandy, Marcie and Ilene are the owners, and they are amazing. They have created a store which makes you feel good just walking in. They «get it» — they have a magical touch in putting outfits together. If you just want to browse — that’s OK too. I am grateful to the Studio every morning when I get dressed. I never worry about looking good, because everything I own looks good on me, fits my body and it all looks good together. And the warm and supportive atmosphere is the icing on the cake. People think I have this amazing fashion taste — it’s really the Studio. I can’t thank them enough.

This is the most amazing store you will ever find; I have been shopping here since I was a young and single woman, and now at age 57 still find fabulous clothing that is chic yet age appropriate. Two things make this place special, the personal shoppers and clothing you won’t find in the dept stores and chains. There are a range of prices, although this is not a bargain basement. Do find out when their sales are and hit them early, as you will find amazing deals. I get so many compliments when I wear outfits from the Studio, and always feel great in them. Clothes for all ages here, both casual and dressy. I should add that they have sizes 2 – 12.

This place is phenomenal! I’ve just gone there for the first time this weekend and they totally wowed me. I’m skinny and often hard-​pressed to find clothes that fit and flatter me. But Eileen found so many incredible pieces I had to leave before I could try everything on. They carry everything from very casual to very elegant, and they have some amazing jewelry, as well, all at reasonable prices. In addition to all that, the experience of buying clothes at The Studio is uplifting and made me feel amazing. Definitely check them out!

The Studio is on the second floor of a brick building on Harvard Street — you have to be looking for it to find it. It is worth a visit, however. All of the staff are helpful and my normal avoidance of sales help melts away because it is such a comfortable atmosphere (and I end up parting with quite a few dollars each visit!). The owners love clothes, and are always looking for interesting, fun items that will fit a number of different body types. They find great clothes that can be worn by all ages. It is a fun place to shop with different clothes than you will find elsewhere.
