Deborah Cureton Landscape Design

We have had nothing but problems with this landscape designer. She did not listen well to our needs and planted a garden that is not what we desired. When asked to change things and FINISH things before we completed payment, she refused and threatened to bring us to court.
We gave Ms. Cureton a budget and when she came in far over it, we were told we received a «bargain.» She drew drainage on her plans that she later told us were suggestions, not something that she does. Although she verbally promised to mulch, she never did. She left our front garden looking terribly unfinished.
Ms. Cureton’s contract contains a warranty. One of the plants that she planted is clearly dying. It is one of four of the same type and the other three are doing fine. Instead of adhering to her warranty, this is the letter we received. We were not given a watering and/​or feeding schedule and were not told that we would need to supply all of this information in order for the warranty to be upheld. We would never recommend this person.
Proper maintenance is required for plant warranty to be honored. Please complete the following by September 17, 2011 (refusal to comply voids all warranties):
Send to me, via certified mail, a dated and signed (by both of you) statement that details explicit steps that you took to maintain all plants within the
planting beds and adjacent newly planted lawn areas.
List what plants you relocated, when these were relocated and what was used for soil implements.
List watering schedule, watering techniques, watering times, feeding schedule and growing implements added to grass and beds.
List age of soaker hoses.
List when mulch went down, what type and place purchased.
List any other techniques you used to protect the investment of your plants.
List names and phone number (s) of person (s) responsible for pant and lawn maintenance while you were away or at any other time.
List details of when problem started with Rhododendron and steps you took to prevent further damage occurring.
Plant monitoring including photos is ongoing.
