My husband was extremely reluctant to wear hearing aids. We started this journey in 2006 when an audiologist at UCLA strongly recommended hearing aids. Mr. Stubborn declined. He had seen too many friends purchase hearing aids and not wear them. In the intervening years he gave a few places a glimpse or attendance at a seminar, but no more. In 2012 we were nearly killed by a freight train he didn’t hear approaching. By 2015, I was desperate and made an appointment at Boston Hearing Services in Brookline. Somehow, Mr. Stubborn went and met Dr. Jill R. He fell in love, and was I thrilled! He now has two tiny babies that nestle in his ears. We call them«our tiny miracles.» He wears them from the time he steps out of the shower in the morning until he turns in at night. My marriage(and sanity) are on a far better path — and he can hear a whole lot better. Even the expression on his face has changed from blank or quizzical to normal and relaxed. He laughs at jokes again. Ahhh, life is good.

I have yet to come across a more competent, pleasant, courteous and thorough professional as Jill Rosenberg. She has superb command on her subject and tables the best solution for her patient. Considering my loss and keeping in mind that i was going through my MBA @ MIT, i was advised to consider more powerful and technologically advanced device. Since i had to pay for it myself and it was a big number, i spent countless hours doing online research on the best solution and price. Jill’s solution consistently emerged as the best. BHS is also excellent when it comes to after sales service. They follow up religiously once they equip you with a device. Besides Jill, all other staff at BHS is also very professional and understanding. Even though i moved to Canada recently, however, Jill and BHS continue to advise me over phone and email as and when i need them.

After a terrible, pushy, rude experience at Mass Eye and Ear, I was looking for audiology services that a) were competent, b) were polite and understanding, and c) didn’t just try to push one brand of hearing aid. I found Boston Hearing Services on Unilocal, and from the moment I booked the appointment, I found everything about this place to be wonderful. From the front desk to Charlene Carroll the audiologist, I was just thrilled at the courtesy, compassion, friendliness and real expertise. As a result of the amazing work Charlene did with my mother, I ended up getting my own hearing tested, and we discovered that I had significant hearing loss. Charlene helped me understand how it might have happened, discussed all my options in great detail, tireless answered questions, tried going to bat for me with my insurance company(didn’t work, but they were willing to try on my behalf, which is huge), and has been there every step of the way. My mother has been treated with the utmost respect and kindness, and Charlene treats hearing loss with great dignity. There is no talking down. There is just unending help. I went back for my first set of adjustments, and I mentioned that I workout in a climbing gym where the sound can be almost painful in a big, echoing warehouse. She called the hearing aid company to speak with an audiologist there to discuss what kind of specific settings she could use to create a «rock-climbing gym» profile for my hearing aids. That’s the kind of detail and attention that makes ALL the difference in the world. I highly recommend Boston Hearing Services in Brookline, and especially Charlene Carroll(I’m sure the others are great, but she is the one we have worked with). Thank you so much for everything!
