Best Cleaners & Tailors

I appreciate that the folks running this business are hardworking individuals who work Saturdays. The prices are somewhat high for the area (discovered by a quick check online), but I tend not to be too fussy for family-​run operations as long as the work quality is good. However, I should note that of the items I left for dry-​cleaning and laundering —
1) 5 out of 7 pristine-​looking (if somewhat smelly), cashmere and merino sweaters left for dry cleaning (ranging from 0 to 4 prior cleanings) returned with extensive, visible pilling. At least two of these are severe enough so that unless pill shaving works wonders, they will have to go. I would probably try handwashing or dryel-​ing next time I want to clean my nicer sweaters.
2) The same happened, to a somewhat less dramatic but still extensive degree, to a couple of cotton-​blend dresses.
2) A nice lambswool sweater left for dry cleaning returned shrunken to about ½ the original size and stiff to the touch. Will have to see if my toddler nieces like it.
3) A dry-​cleaned wool coat returned covered in lint. The coat will have to spend some quality time with my lint remover.
4) General stains remained on several dry-​cleaned shirts. Yellowing remained on some white shirt collars.
5) Several laundered t-​shirts were somehow returned badly wrinkled.
6) Two dresses have been damaged (one shoulder strap came off, a fabric «belt» integrated into the shirt tore off). I was able to repair these, but it took awhile.
7) I developed rather impressive contact dermatitis rash with one of the laundered pairs of jeans, which I had previously worn without issue. Possibly a detergent issue.
tl;dr: Wool sweaters fared poorly, shirts stayed yucky, dresses damaged, rash flared.

If you read nothing else, know that they hit the mark on all three priorities to me. The three questions that matter most when I bring clothes to the cleaners are 1) has the stain been lifted and is my garment legitimately clean? 2) is the pricing reasonable? and 3) is the turn around timely? In short: yes, yes and yes.
I’ve brought men’s shirts, some of my wife’s clothes, sweaters and cashmere and I’ve gotten nothing but fabulous results. If I have a stain, it always come back lifted and gone. Check 1.
I want my clothes cleaned and pressed that I can’t do on my own or too difficult to do myself. You gotta pay for what you want and for me, every time the results are top notch. I’ve never had to ask for a garment to be recleaned like at other cleaners. The best is never the cheapest, but it does ensure peace of mind and that you won’t have to waste your time coming back pissed. Check 2.
Based on my conversations with the friendly staff, they handle all of their clothes in-​house. That’s not true for every cleaner. Some cleaners outsource their work to larger facilities. Everything is ready to be picked up in just a few short days. The quality of their work shines through in the time they promise. Check 3.
Bottom line: 3 checks on 3 priorities. If you want the investment you’ve put into your wardrobe to last you, bring your clothes here. You can’t go wrong.

The pricing is honest and the service is pretty quick. They work Saturdays. I use them regularly for a few loads of laundry and shirts and suit drycleaning (about once a month). I am impressed with the drycleaning — they do a good job with shirts and suits. Clothes come back nicely folded. Sometimes I can’t pick up my laundry by the time/​day I tell them and they store it for me free of charge. Overall: good quality for the price. They DO take credit cards.

So, firstly, to clear up any lingering confusion: they take credit cards.
I went on a Monday morning to drop off a skirt, a dress, and three pairs of pants (one of them was silk) to be dry cleaned and picked them up on a Wednesday morning. The clothes came back smelling like the glorious fragrance of laundry, and were clean to boot. Granted, the pants and the skirt were only dry cleaned because I bought them at Goodwill recently and had to get rid of that distinctively Goodwill odor (a disarming combination of smoke, old people, and staleness), but the dress did have a little stain on it that was removed by Best Cleaners.
The prices were roughly: skirt ($ 6 – 7), dress ($ 11-​$ 12), pants (3 @ $ 19ish). I’ve only ever been to one other dry cleaner in my hometown, so I’m not sure how these prices stack up.
Another plus is that when I asked for an additional bag to put my dry cleaned clothes in (as it was pouring outside), the man working there helped my put my clothes into a trash bag to protect them from the rain. Definite plus! I would recommend this place to anyone in the area for sure!

Yeah, what Emily & GothMom said. Neutral smelling clothes, replaced buttons, cheery smiles. The only ding is that their alterations are sketchy. I’ve had them hem pants and the stitches have come unraveled in only a couple of days or weeks.

They don’t take credit cards, but the clothes come back clean and with a smile. Next or two day service is available but only if you ask. It’s right around the corner from my house so I haven’t bothered to try any other dry cleaners in Brookline Village. If you live close by and carry cash or checks try it out!
