Was a great getaway close to home with my family. I care for my elderly parents beside two young kids. It was all good till Roberta that fixed breakfast in the atrium got real rude with us. Following and focusing on harassing my kids which were completely under control and well behaved. We were with them at all times. She was still a real b$&@@. We wrote corporate and asked for at the very least an apology. Some apology. «I’m sorry that’s just the way I am and I’ve been in the service business my whole life» Really! You stink at it! She made us uncomfortable. The whole time all four of us were swimming she was being like a Sargent eyeballing and watching every move. If they don’t fire her they will lose business. They’ve lost ours!

The Midway has been around for eons. I was told they had a hard time getting rid of the disco ball :) Parts of it are tired and other parts are new, like the new Ground Round Restaurant .I was glad to see a new owner that focused on the food place his roots at this location. I attend this spot twice a month for a business networking group. We meet in one of the banquet rooms and the service is always good. The food is pretty decent, no complaints.

I haven’t even stayed here yet and I’m already aggravated! I’ve spoken to 2 different people in reservations and neither of them know anything about the rooms.(i.e. size, how many bathrooms… you don’t know how many bathrooms there are??) Both were short, bordering on rude, as if I was interrupting their lunch hour or something. The first girl answered«I don’t know» so many times, I don’t even think she worked there. BASICCUSTOMERSERVICE! TRAINYOURSTAFF, PEOPLE!!!

I was very unhappy with this hotel. They advertised family dining but refused to give us a seat in their family dining area, they insisted that we would be okay crowded around two bistro tables in the bar. Being exhausted after a hard day’s work we accepted. As soon as our food came out the brought in a karaōke DJ and cranked up the volume way too loud, we had kids with us and this was a downtown pub atmosphere. We asked to be reseated in the dining area and they said that area was closed. We ended up having to carry our own plates to our rooms. I struggled with the 59 – 63 degree temperatures in the room and called multiple times(it was 72 or warmer outside) about getting some heat to work or getting the air turned off. after the third day they finally sent a maintenance guy who explained they didn’t have any fuses and someone must have borrowed the fuse for our heater for another room. He seemed to think that was a reasonable way to resolve it. Not blaming the maintenance guy — I’m blaming the under funded or miss-managed hotel. There were always 0 or 1 people behind the desk but the hotel volume should have easily justified 2+ front desk operators. They should change the name from«Midway Hotel and Suites» to «Midway Motel». Guys some helpful advice: If you’re experiencing budget problems, you’re cutting the wrong expenses. From the looks on Unilocal I’m not the only one to feel this way.

I came here from California and was dreading the cold weather of Wisconsin! I was so relived to see the atrium and whirlpool! My family loved the fact we didn’t need to wear our sweaters all day. We also loved the ping pong table and air hockey machine. The breakfast buffet was an awesome way to start the day! All you can eat eggs, BACON, sausage, fresh waffles and lots of great goodies! The 2 only bad things were that the beds were way too stiff for my back and during the weekend the atrium was rented our for birthday parties and my family had to wait for the parties to leave to go into the pool which gave us roughly about 45 – 30 :(. Another thing! It looks really outdated, and I get a little paranoid with paranormal. So I did capture some pictures of orbs in my room. Not sure if it’s haunted at all, just old. + I saw a waterbug in my room.:( But it’s very family oriented !

All around decent place. Front desk staff was friendly and quick to send someone to bring a microwave to our room — mixed feelings about that because ‘every room has a microwave’ was in the little brochure they hand with the key cards… meh, we got one brought so no big deal. The room itself was clean and had a big 70’s vibe going on — ever see ‘Lovelace’? kinda like that but, with updates electronics. There were some electrical safety issues I saw such as multiple power strips in the same outlet(under the desk by the tv) which was a bit off putting since we had the munchkin with us… We really liked the indoor pool area, it was clean and the water was warm, whirlpool was cool too. There were plenty of towels by the pool and and used towels left around were quickly picked up by the attendant(s) on duty. There was also a mid sized seating area by the pool was island or maybe jungle maybe? It had some arcade games, ping pong and air hockey too. We did not get the standard complimentary breakfast since we were there on Easter, but they did have a small breakfast buffet in one of the conference rooms. Kinda felt a bit ripped by not having breakfast in their onsite restaurant but, it was an Adequate Substitute — read — ‘something to eat in the morning’. Even though this place is still in the midst of renovations and probably not at its best right now, they provided us with good customer service and a clean comfortable room for the night. I’d love to go and see them for next years trip providing they’re finished with construction.

The front desk was very friendly, and helpful when I needed a bottle warmed. They offered to bring a microwave to the room. The overall experience was a little lackluster. The complementary breakfast did offer more than the typical continental breakfast, but it was nothing to write home about. I would have preferred getting something from a local restaurant instead. The wait staff could have known a little more about the surroundings(where they keep kids high chairs…). Checking out was easy enough. The pool seemed fine, and there was a hot tub to use as well. Both looked handicap accessible with lifts — which is not something you typically see. The most distressing was the lack of cleanliness and access to the cleaning area. Near the pool there was a ‘theater’ room which had some food carts with food that appeared to be sitting there for at least a day(still there when we checked out). I would search a little more before landing on this place.

My in-laws have stayed here on two separate occasions, and have had a pleasant experience both times. We joined them during the day several times for swimming, food at the hotel restaurant, and the bar, so I got a pretty good feel for the place. First, there is a nice, medium to small sized indoor pool, hot tub, and video game area in the center of the hotel atrium, designed for groups to mingle. It is not the newest hotel around, and they ended up running out of towels and shampoo, but as soon as they notified the cleaning crew about it, they got super stocked with coffee, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, etc. The hotel also included breakfast and drink tickets with their stay, for the hotel restaurant and bar. At the bar, they always had happy hour snacks, and the food was decent. The bar was all about music– They have live performers and weekly karaōke and open mic nights, so I could see people potentially going there from around town, just for fun, even if they aren’t actually staying at the hotel.

A pretty good hotel-Even though the weekend desk clerk was a real antisocial crab, Being young-Is quite unusual, Unless she hates her job. The restaurant/lounge is very hospitable. Practically all the other staffers were REAL cordial. The room was nice. The drivers to special events were tops.

Best Western Midway Hotel in Brookfield is located South of Interstate 94. This hotel was great when my girl and I moved here from Kansas City. We had a moving truck, car and two cats and knew NOTHING about Milwaukee. We didn’t even have housing found yet. Best Western has an attached bar/pizza/jazz lounge/parlor restaurant that’s worth staying and not venturing to the chain restaurants down the street. There’s an awesome a 12,000-square-foot tropical domed atrium with swimming pool, arcade games and table tennis. The rooms are very nice for a Best Western and the hotel is really quiet. Reasonable priced as well. I paid $ 89 for a single king sized bed. Pet friendly. 100% smoke free hotel. Friendly front desk staff.
