Me and my wife were looking for an affordable hotel for a short vacation in NYC. We read good reviews about super 8 and were expecting a reasonable service. The hotel itself seems to be new, the rooms appear new as well. There is small fridge and coffee machine in the room. The main reason to give two stars is because even though we were in a non smoker room it had a strong cigarette smell coming from the bathroom. The odor was so strong that we had to keep the bathroom door shut at all times and it was actually disgusting when using it. I actually told the frontdesk about it but I was told that it was«due to the ventilation duct», it gave the impression they were helpless about it. The other issue was that the sheets were not changed when we requested to do it. The location itself seems very unsafe specially at night, obviously we did not expect better for the area(you should use simpson station when conmuting to NYC, appears safer). Breakfast is ok, not the best nor the worst(no eggs), there is plenty which is good. If your budget is tight this maybe good option but be ready to expect some«inconveniences» similar to those experienced by us.

It’s OK. It’s safe, but do not have high expectations. Doesn’t seem like there is much around here but there is u just have to be willing to walk a block or two, or three. If you forgot anything on your trip there are some market stores that have just about everything you could imagine.

I was COMPLETELY against a hotel in the Bronx. But I lost my keys on a Friday night & my landlord wouldnt be available till the next day so I looked up Super 8. Heard the hotel was only 1 year old & I saw reviews on Unilocal so I went to give it a shot. I was pleasantly suprised on how beautiful the room was. All cable channels, fridge in the room. Had complimentary breakfast in a nice Breakfast Lounge. I felt like I was on vacation. Was nice. Probably the only hotel in the Bronx I would go to bc its new. Recommend to other guests

THEHOUSEKEEPERSSTOLEMYCOSTUMEJEWELRYANDACTEDLIKETHEYDIDNTOFCOURSE. The hotel in itself is nice… beautiful place… decent enough area. Close to train. But the housekeepers stole my jewelry. Then the front desk called my black ass about some visitors when this white broad across from me had noooon stop traffic… plus her company was loud and was threatening to shoot people in the hallway! She played loud music and she was there before me… so all of a sudden I get there… and I’m not there all day mind u… I’m in and out goin to work… they’re callin my room about company. The breakfast was basic. No meat. Buncha bagels cereal and oatmeal. Like. I liked the place and then it just turned for the worse for no reason

Overall good experience, rooms are very clean there’s a security guard at night. Near subways, easy access to Yankee stadium. Only thing I dislike was the breakfast selection, lack of fruit or eggs, but the deli across the street can compensate for that.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this hotel and the location. We needed to stay somewhere close to his parents house, but close to the subway. You can hear the trains roll by, but I was able to ignore it. It’s really not that bad. There is a complementary breakfast every morning, which helped with keeping our travel costs low, but nothing fancy. Bagels, cereal, oatmeal, and fruit. The only thing that bothered me at the hotel was that there was this random call in the middle of the night(2:00AM) and once again about 30 minutes later. It rang twice with a strange automatic message informing me to hang up the phone and that it was a test? I don’t know, but VERYSTRANGE. I would come back and stay, but they have got to figure out that random ghost caller.

The woman at the front desk that was great charge my phone for me thank forgot her name but she looked out. While i head to my right down the block to go get me a $ 5 charger. It around the summer time so i had a great night. Lots of fun for my stay but like I said it was only 3 weeks of it being open. I hope it still friendly and nice and beautiful like it was.

Me & hubby wanted to take a quick & cheap trip to NY for my birthday and to the Apollo Theater! After looking and finding rooms with shared bathrooms and a lot of other nonsense we found this! It was my first time in NY so as soon as I got on the street I was like Meh! However the hotel it self is clean, the front office was helpful and nice & the rooms are modern, with nice size restrooms(I’ll add pictures later). I will suggest using subway in day and cab at night(like we did)! The subway is only a block away also! For the price I give them 4, we from the city so nothing new! I wanted to give 5 but the neighbor could be iffy to some! Great for a quick stay! :)
