Stan’s is a notch above the other bars in this area for serving Bronx Pale Ale AND Not Your Father’s Root Beer, whereas the other place a couple blocks away had a pretty crappy beer lineup. Prices are not outrageous. There’a also food, but we were waiting for overpriced concessions at the NYCFC game. Interestingly, the bar starts to look like a Murray Hill Dive closer to game time(maybe it was the soccer crowd). Lots of Midwestern-looking bros vs. the muscled apes I was expecting to find here. Also deserving note, the dude at the door was kind of a d – k. He thought he was being funny, messing with us in his own«genial» way, but mostly came off like a jerk. I guess he has to deal with a lot of bros with the bro-homie that serves them well.

The go-to Yankees bar! Great atmosphere to catch a drink before or after the game. The bartenders are fun and the fans are part of the fun!

As you would expect. A loud, crowded sports bar and fills up after the Yankee games. I enjoy that there is more than one bar area so you’re not waiting forever. They serve food but I didn’t see anyone partaking. Anyone leaving a Yankee game already got shaken down. They’re not gonna pay $ 13 for a turkey sandwich, but if you’re inebriated it might help you.

I’ve been here either before or after Yankee games but never on a day I wasn’t going to be attending a game Until last week. I had the day to myself and did not know what to do. So I took the train first to Manhattan then changed my mind before exiting the subway station and took the train towards Yankee Stadium. After walking around the neighborhood I stopped in here. I had a few beers. The place wasn’t packed but there were still people there so I didn’t feel so bad. Service was good not surprising since it was rather empty.

Amazing place with quick service and nice employees. Exactly the type of bar you want to go to before and after the game being surrounded by fans and history.

Great bartenders, great environment, most definitely a Yankees fans haven, but welcomes all. Have been coming for years and plan to continue the pregame and postgame tradition!!!

Interesting. This seems like a dive beach bar, without the beach. Great proximity to Yankee stadium, but not great as a Redsox fan. It’s very loud and getting a beer is a chore. It’s jam packed on game days.

Absolute best place to go before and after a game. An institution. Service is always great, can get pretty packed but it is part of the experience

Are you kidding me? My ears were practically bleeding in this place. The music was too loud from across the street! Why do people put up with this?!

Good place to have a beer before the game. Loud & crowded, the way God intended a pre-game sports bar to be.

The place gets packed before games, but DEFNITELY rather grab a drink here than at Billy’s next door. Music is ridiculously loud. The playlist was from my High School Prom, same DJ perhaps?!, but I was totally into it. I’m thinking about finally asking Stephanie out on a date, I just gotta figure out how to not get beat up by the jocks when I steal the Captain of the football teams girl… You know why you go here? Because the bartenders are lazer on point. The dude will just keep pointing at people till he locks in on the next thirsty patron. I loved watching his lighting speed service. The other reason you go here is because they offer 24 oz tall boy classic Coors for $ 8. Let the«Banquet» begin.

THE spot across the street from Yankees Stadium. It’s part of the experience to come here for a drink before the game. The crowd is as mixed here as it will be at the stadium. It’s crowded, but the bartenders at the multiple bars keep things flowing.

Stabs is like stopping by your buddy man cave for a beer before heading to a party, Every party. In this case you stop by for a few pops before the Yankees games, Every Yankee game. It’s tradition and it’s New York Yankees all day long.

Great place to pregame your money situation before a game since the prices are bogus. NY is Red

If you consider yourself a real Yankee fan and haven’t been to Stan’s, reevaluate your statement. Usually catch the subway in for the games seeing that I don’t want to pay an arm and leg for parking, so this is the pregame place of choice. Obviously it’s always packed but the atmosphere of the place is exactly why you go. Yes, beers are a little pricey but what do you expect, the place is right across from Yankee Stadium but they’re cheaper than once you get inside so drink up. Can’t wait to get back here this season!

Great place to go before a Yankees game for Yankee fans to get pump. It is a crowded bar and the bartenders and waiters are extremely busy but are definitely attentive and get the job done. I have been here a couple of times and I have never been disappointed. Great finger food too

If you’re there for the game, of the bars in the area, this is one you want to go to. Looks local and not like a dance club. Beer and food are priced well(good price on hot dogs and fries). Service is good, and it’s a short walk to the stadium too. It does get crowded, but if you show up earlier enough you can snag a hightop or a seat.

Opening Day at THE Stadium. If this ambiance was in any other bar, I’d probably never go, but the fact that this IS across from the original site of Yankee Stadium and the place is always full of Yankee fans of all ages, makes it a «must do» every time i go to a game. In fact, all my Met fan friends wish there was a place like this near Citifield. Considering the crowds, service(provided you can get to one of the many bars) is excellent. The food is decent, but I’m trying to limit the amount of fried foods I eat, so it was only 1 very hot and crispy chicken finger for me. I would never go to a pace this crowded at home, but Stan’s is the place to be for a Yankee game.

As far as Yankee Stadium pre and post game dive bars are concerned, Stan’s is the only place to go. If you are a Yankee fan(I’m not) then Stan’s is probably already part of your stadium vocabulary. Complete dive bar … but well worth the trip.
