Went there for my b-fast which u CAN’T mess up unless you are blatantly complacent like they’re chefs are. On 2 separate occasions i found both hair on my hash and what seemed to be a piece of plastic or something unnatural stuck to my bacon. These guys might of been around for a while in the Bronx, but if a Starbucks replaces them tomorrow, the kingsbridge community would not notice. They are just too behind the times and honestly I can easily compare them to a watered down waffle house from the south(and waffle houses are bad as it is). And no they dont have the best coffee in the bronx like their menus say, Garden gourmet market does.

As soon as I opened the box, I knew I was in for a terrible trip. I had a what the **** is this?! Moment upon seeing the«coleslaw» in a coffee filter peeking out from under my soggy burger and fries. Soggy is actually and understatement as the bottom bun was soaked and falling apart which is extremely unappetizing(just gross) to say the the least. The patty was questionable and flavorless, the american cheese was on the coffee filter and doing nothing for the burger, and the lettuce, thick pickle slice and slice of tomato were throw in the box as an after thought. I understand it’s a diner burger but its below average even for what it is. The milkshake arrive warm and was extremely sweet. Unfortunately I have nothing positive to say about this restaurant. It was FAR below average in quality and certainly a lot more expensive than it should have been especially considering the garbage I received. I suspect they should have stuck to selling breakfast items and not offer delivery because it’s truly not worth it.

Love Love lovvvveeee ! I was just introduced to Perista at the beginning of the year and i can’t stop eating here, there always on time and tasty. The french vanilla cappuccinos are TOODIEFOR(Which also started my addiction). on Tuesday i ordered through grub hub & they were at my door before the expected delivery time. Have yet to have an issue with them.

Not even an «I’m Sorry», REALLY??? Ordered through seamless but was concerned when an hour and 20 mins passed and I didn’t receive my order(they said it would take 45 – 60) When I called to find out what happened the rude woman answering the phone said«We didn’t start the the order but they’ll start it now and after they finished it will take an additional 15 mins to deliver.» WHAT??? when i explained how long we were waiting she said she was backed up(which would have been understandable and forgiven IF i received a courtesy call or an apology. When i explained how long it was since we ordered she just said«so you want to cancel it or no» –WOW I refuse give my money to any business who is not at least apologetic for the delay.

I was really disappointed with the service from this place. This was the first time I ordered from here. The food was edible to say the least. I had them deliver it to my job on a college campus. They called me to let me know that the delivery guy wasn’t allowed on campus and he couldn’t come to the office where I am. A) That is impossible as deliveries are allowed on campus all day, and B)“He can’t go up stairs” is not a valid reason for not completing a delivery. So I walked over to the front entrance to the campus, spoke to security and they told me that they let him on campus. Halfway back to my office, I bump into the guy. He tried to explain to me his reasoning for not making it but I couldn’t understand him. I spent all of my lunch hour looking for him so I called the restaurant to complain about the service and to speak with the manager. The manager offers me 20% off my next order… So basically… my time is worth $ 3.40 to him… Not like I’m ever going to order from them again anyway… Bad business.

What can I say? It’s diner food. Hot, quick and cheap. I have frequented this place mostly for breakfast. Few can mess up, eggs, homefries and toast. Don’t expect much and eat quickly before your meal gets closed. Service is never lacking. All in all, a nice place. 3 stars because diners don’t thrill me.

This place is great. Breakfast is the best. Pancakes and their special bread french toast are so good. I order here all the time. I also like going and eating there. The owners are wonderful and just so nice. They make you feel like family. If you grave anything they are good at making it up for you. They do the food how you ask which for me is appreciated. Come here or order from you will love it if you love diner food.

A few blocks from my house I either eat here or at Applebee’s. Their breakfast is one of the best in the neighborhood.

This is a great restaurant, but the workers are killing it slowly. They don’t even answer the calls for delivery. All they do is pick up the phone and leave it off the hook. I even walked to the place called and couldn’t believe what I was seeing, there are plenty of people that need a decent job, I mean the ones you have look like they’re taking advantage. It seems like the owner lost control of his own place.

Been a customer for over 10 years plus more years… with that said the staff has always remained pleasant and accommodating when there is that odd chance of an incorrect order. the owner and his family who have run this business since forever are very approachable and likeable. The food is always stellar even when it is wrong lol. I recommend the home fries, corn beef hash and beef sausages always. And their Bronx deluxe burgers are the best.

Award winning coffee, delicious entrees and a huge selection of healthy salads to choose from. One of my favorite dining places in all of the Bronx! Great value for the dollar. Plus one the owners is always present, appreciate the commitment on their part. Sunday mornings are super busy, almost for sure a bit of a wait then. The volume of their takeout is a testament to Perista’s popularity!

So like every other reviewer on this board, I have been a longtime customer of this constantly bustling diner for eight years. When I was a young lad in catholic school, I would always order a cream cheese bagel to fill in my stomach and that nice, white haired owner would just say, «smeal!» Yeah, yeah, yeah. He would call the cream cheese bagel a «smeal.» To this day, I have absolutely no clue where that funky word came from. On workdays, this diner is always jammed with commuters. Some of them are blazing cigarettes outside while they are simultaneously waiting for their food and their bus. A bunch are retirees sitting in the booths, leisurely eating away at their deluxe breakfasts(which range under 10 $). All the others are dressed up in a range from business suits to hardhats. There’s donuts and bagels to-go. They aren’t the best, but they are sweet enough to make you care. Aside from those tiny breakfast niblets, Perista can make you coffee in thirty seconds flat out of a pot that has been simmering for more-time-than-you-would-like. It’s cheap as far as my student wallet is concerned. A fair cost in exchange for quality, as you all should know. If you have ample time to sit down, which would likely fall on a weekend, the restaurant is relatively uncrowded with a majority of the seats open for you rump. A smiling waiter/waitress will come by speedily and take your order. Now, this is just simple American food. Everything from sandwiches to burgers to pancakes to eggs are ready to order. It’s mostly cheap, even for the«deluxe» orders, which are these fat man platters stocked with greasy chow. If you’re sitting in at the right time, you might happen to have some oddballs stumble in and swear at the top of their lungs. Oh, good times at Perista. There’s a miniature bathroom for FREE in the corner.

Love this dinner the food is always cooked well. The only problem is that the space is small so you have to wait when it gets busy.

Inexpensive, convenient and close to my office– over the years I must have spent thousands ordering take out from Perista since it is the closest a local sit down diner to my workplace. The food is fair to middling; they often toss in a few donuts when we place a large order for delivery from our department. The owner has his heart in the right place.

The staff at my workplace and myself have been ordering from Perista Diner for going on 5yrs now. The food has occasionally been hit or miss but nothing so untoward that we stopped ordering from them… until recently. Having found a hair in my slightly undercooked omelet I called the diner just to make them aware, I did not wish a refund or replacement meal as my appetite was no longer with me after the hair. The older owner was put on the phone and he was automatically defensive and demanded proof of the hair and wanted me to go to them and show them… I mean really, did he seriously think I was going to grab the container out of the garbage and leave work for that? I called just to inform them so that they would be more careful and that’s the stance taken? Needless to say on my lunch break I headed over to speak with him in person and his attitude continued to be defensive, rude and uncaring. So we will no longer be ordering from them in the future, but he didn’t seem very concerned over this because when I had stated as much he just shrugged and said«OK». Someone obviously skipped Customer Service 101.

This place was good; once upon a time. Now everything tastes like old oil. Don’t eat here if you don’t want to fuck up your immune system or, in my case, kinda make it stronger to terrible food.
