Don’t let the name fool you. «Made in Puerto Rico» right away if you look at the outside of this place beautiful sign and front you would think hey finally a Purerto Rician Resturant in the community that you can patronize, get a great meal and cocktails. Well I was wrong I wish I had checked with Unilocal before waisting my time of going here. Total disappointment. I always drove by this place and made it a point to take my wife and family here. How can I explain without being bad… It’s an upscale Ghetto bar, an after work, singles joint or place to pick up people. The outside of this place does not compliment the inside. The inside of this place looks like they painted it with cheap white paint, as soon as you come in the bar is right on top of you. The dinning room is off to the side not very appealing. The décor of this place has nothing to do with Puerto Rico. Didn’t get a chance to dine here because the guy who met us at the door totally turned me off. We waited for a while because there was no seats available. Not because there was a lot of people there on a Wednesday night, but there is not enough tables and chairs available. The guy was so ghetto looking like fat Albert from the cartoons. Nothing against being heavy, because I’m heavy too, but his mannerism was as if though he was from the hood, waited for a while to be seated then I noticed that he was letting his friends skip the waiting line for a table. While waiting I did notice that the food portions are small for being a Latin place. We end up being discouraged and leaving. Who ever owns or manage this place missed a great opportunity to take this place to another level. There is no attention to detail here. Who ever decorates this place needs hooked on phonics. Using the name Made in Puerto Rico is a slap in the face to Puerto Ricans. Your staff dress attire should look like they are in Puerto Rico not like they are in the ghetto. Big disappointment here. Diffidently not a family /Bring your kids here. Reading some of positive reviews of this place on Unilocal, very few, I couldn’t see how they would rate this place 5 stars, could it be that they work there???

AMAZING experience. We came here for brunch/bday. Party of 12. Our server was Elsa… That women is on point. Very attentive Nd very observant and she took great care of the group. The table had Sangrias and Bellinis. For food we had mangu(tres golpes) amazing seasoning. The rest had the fried chuletas and the carne con huevos… On POINT! Anyways… AMAZING and cheap place to spend with your friends. The décor is also very subtle, great ambiance. Highly recommended. Come and check this place out!

I will start by saying i have no review of the food or service here, since we never got to actually sit down and try it. I have to say, we did not have reservations. That being said… We arrived at the restaurant at 9:30 pm for a nice dinner and drinks with my brother and his wife. I have lived in the Bronx for most of my youth and I have dined at some of the best Puerto Rican — Spanish restaurants in the local area. I should have known by the time we arrived that there were seating issues. A few people at the door but not crowded. I waited for the maitre de for 15 minutes before he showered up to put my name on the waiting list, which he did not. he told me that we should wait at the bar and something would be available in about 30 minutes. it was well over 2 hours when he came over and told us there was no way he would be able to seat us due to all the reservations showing up on time. Wow. The whole time we were at the bar, I watched as patron after patron came in and was immediately seated. parties of 2 and 4. I can’t believe that a new restaurant could not accommodate walk ins. I am not blaming the staff, but, really? Would it have killed you to reserve one or 2 tables for walk ins? Most restaurant owners know that repeat business is key to success, but new business is crucial. Bad management will be the death of any restaurant if they cannot accommodate their clients. So… scratch this one off my list. Ill stick to Don Coqui. Good luck to you guys. By the look of your 2 star reviews, its only a matter of time.(2 hours of my time).

We came here on a Saturday night to chill at the bar and had an easy going night. I don’t really like the inside décor but it doesn’t matter once they dim the lights for the late night hours. There’s too much white and it’s just doesn’t have that expensive appearance like other venues in the area. The music is about the same as other venues in the area but mostly play Latin genres with some Hip Hop. Staff were not bad considering this is a fairly new restaurant. The bartenders did their best to check up on everyone sitting at the bar but the drinks were horrible. The fishbowl and giant patron bottle drinks only look cool but they are as weak as a drink on Ocean Drive, Miami. Very expensive, all sugary liquids and hardly any alcohol. Overall, a decent place but I hope to see more considering there are so many Latin themed places in the area offering better experiences.

Not sure where to begin. We came in on a Tuesday night and it was fairly empty. Happy hour was still going on with $ 5 drink and appetizer specials(you could only get the appetizer specials if you sat at the bar). Overall the ambiance was nice and the food was decent. The bad… our waitress started out on us like white on rice! It felt like she was asking us how we were doing every 2 minutes. It was seriously annoying but as the place filled up she was literally nowhere to be found. We had to flag some poor guy down for everything… our bill, a napkin, a container for our leftovers. When we got our check we saw our party of 4 was automatically charged an almost 20% tip… for horrible service. I was then charged $ 10 extra on my bank account by them. The waitress shrugged it off and denied it! Worst part the manager was on the phone the entire time, knew we were annoyed, came over and listened to me explain that I was overcharged and said/did NOTHING. Read my other reviews, I rarely complain. 2 words, never again.

My first impression of this restaurant– Disorganize. Not to mentioned standing by the bar is frustrating. You are constantly having to move, so others can get to the bartender and the workers can navigate there way around. The waiter appeared to be rushing and showed lack of training. I was given a time window of two hours to consume my food, before I had to give up the table. Certainly not a restaurant I would recommended.
