Stopped by for breakfast and it was pretty good. It’s what you would expect from a diner.

If you’re looking for a cheep dinner on Arthur Ave., this is your place. Nothing fancy and the food is alright but nothing to write home about. It fills a nice void since Pete’s closed and there are two locations within blocks, so of one is too crowded you can go to the other. Basically I would go because it’s there, but not because I’m in the mood.

Outstanding greasy spoon breakfast! Sunnyside, bacon, potatoes with wheat toast — never had better. And the price could not be any lower — definitely beats cooking weekend breakfast in every way. What makes it so good? The fried eggs have the crispy edge, the potatoes have the well done onions and peppers that you can see in between the burnt bits. Coffee is very hot and taste diner fresh.

Fast service, tons of locals and you know a diner is good when they’ve got delivery service!

Love this place. I moved into the area to attend grad school at Fordham and this has become my go-to diner. Service is fast, friendly, and the food is extremely affordable and very good. There are few(if any) places in New York City where you can get endless coffee, a plate of french toast, and a glass of orange juice for five bucks, and M&G is one of them. I also get their veggie burger often if I stop in at lunch, which is very good and unlike any I’ve had before– it seems homemade, though I could be wrong. There are two locations, both on Arthur Ave. One is just south of 187th, and the other is just north of 188th. The southern location seems to be busier in my experience, and the northern location(«M&G II») is mostly populated with younger Fordham students from the off-campus housing which is right there. I usually go to this one just because it’s less crowded, though if you go on a weekend morning to either location, it doesn’t even matter(super busy). Definitely the best diner in Belmont.

M&G is the best diner in the Belmont area, waayyyyyy better than Pete’s. There are two locations on Arthur Ave — one next to Mugzs at 189th and one near the intersection with 187th. The newer location by 189th is marketed more towards Fordham students, but the quality of the food is consistent with the old location. I pretty much go here exclusively for breakfast, and everything I’ve had has been amazingly good and cheap. I’ve also had a couple of different sandwiches(grilled cheese, blt) and those have been tasty too. The staff is friendly and accommodating, even when the place is packed on the weekends. Go here!!! Hint: the chocolate chip pancakes contain an INSANE amount of chocolate. YUM

Good for a stop-in diner experience. Not the prettiest place, but food was decent. Had an egg sandwich with coffee.

It’s always a pleasure coming to this diner for breakfast. It’s always crowded. The food is very good, not excellent. The service is very friendly and fast oh and the food comes out fast too, it’s nice that as you enter you can see who cooks on the right. These guys do a great job. I gave them a 5 star because there’s no 10 stars. I’ll be coming here forever and always

Good little diner(very hard to get seating on Sundays, get there early) on Arthur Ave. I always got the He-Man, french toast with ham, bacon, sausage, & two eggs. The megameal that always left me satisfied.

Horrible! I was tired after a long day of work down in the city, I didn’t want to make dinenr, so I thought I’d stop by M&G for a cheap burger and head home. The defrosted disk of «meat» on squishy sesame seed bun tasted fine, but alas something horrid must have been in there. I spent the next 36 hours of my life expelling hot fiery browned liquid from my anus and then thrusting my head into the garbage can dryheaving what else was to be banished from my body. Never again. Never never never again will I go here. If you want to risk getting violently ill, M&G is your place. A roommate of mine had a similar experience.

Please save your money for this restaurant DONOTORDERANYFOODFROMHERE. this is my second time ordering delivery from this restaurant. and Its sad but is just another Terrible food Bronx restaurant … I just move to the bronx little italy area, and I have to say the food is TERRIBLE around here. now M AND G, FOODISTHEWORSE … I just order breadfast, I orders pancakes… please stay away from those pancakes, just one world that can be useful as a headline, TERRIBLETERRIBLE, the pancakes were dry, but very dry super dry… LOL like they cook the pancakes in WATER instead of butter or oil. just like that, I also order steak and eggs, another terrible choice, the steak the quality of the meat was not bad, it was terrible. very bad cook, and basically NOTFLAVORWHATSOVER, pouche eggs, they dont know how to make them, terrible, the home frieds were also so bad that not even my dog will eat them. in one word a piece of S… 23.OODOLLARSTOTHEGARBAGE… because that was what I did, i trough the whole order to the garbage, imagine how terrible the food was. I dont know how come people write good reviews about this place, I guess they dont know what good food taste about it. or maybe is becuse I just move from Europe… the food ovethere is so good, but that is not the reason, because in downtown NY you find great places and choices for dinner and brunch. I think is a thing of the Bronx, unfortunately the restaurants in the bronx area, are so bad, the food is so terrible… I just dont know where this restaurants hire their kitchen staff, but its a waste of money. In my case I dont care is the food is expensive as long as the food is good, but in the bronx is just the opposite. bad food terrible style of cooking, and expensive. its so sad…

A Mexican diner in the middle of Little Italy? Orale! M&G, not sure what that stands for(maybe More &Goodness? Mexican & Granola?) is slammin! It’s an old school diner/coffee shop that serves some greasy ass food(no complaints here.) Oh, I love me some greasy ass goodness. The bacon was crisp. The eggs were scrambled right. The homefries were tasty. Even the damn water tasted good. I found a new lunch spot when I’m in the area. Shhhh, don’t tell anyone.

So, you wanna know a secret to the best Diner Breakfast? Well you turn down Arthur Ave and walk past all of the bakeries, and turn right into the smallest diner you will probably ever see. Even though you’ll more than likely have to wait for a table(forever and a day if its the weekend), the food is excellent, and booger free everytime I visited(which was every weekend for the past 2 years).

This place has replaced Pete’s for me. The waiters are efficient, the place is clean and the food is good. I highly recommend french toast and potatoes. It’s kind of a nice place to go after a hard night of whatever and you just want food fast. The atmosphere is mostly locals, but as Fordham students are discovering it(myself included), it’s starting to turn more friendly.

An easily missed dining option on Arthur Ave, M&G serves up tasty diner-style treats in an area known for its Italian specialty shops and restaurants, and its mysterious Albanian cafes. It is tiny and narrow, but they have a counter and several tables for diners. They always have a soup of the day, and I’ve been very happy with the sandwiches I’ve gotten both times I’ve eaten here. If you want a burger, tuna melt, club sandwich or the like, it’s a much better option than the overpriced Pete’s Café, which I have never forgiven for the American cheese-Philly Steak debacle of 2006.
