I was married in June and took my wife here as a litte celebration for our 7 months of marriage. Just conveniently, they had a restaurant week menu. My wife had the stuffed mushrooms and i had the fresh mozz and tomato. I was really blown away by the way the mozz and tomato was made. Not the tradition sliced; instead, they had mozz knots and tomato with peppers roasted and olives. Really nice display. The mushrooms were fantastic. For dinner, we each had the eggplant parm and the waitress was kind enough to substitute the potatoes for pasta. The sauce, I have to say, was great! I am used to the sauce passed down in my Italian family, and I can tell they treat this recipe the same. Made the eggplant the best in the neighborhood, in my opinion. Dessert was delicious. Tiramisu and NY cheesecake. Fresh, which was great. The only issue i would recommend them solving is dealing with service. The busboy was on his phone the entire time and the staff sat around in the middle table a lot. I get it, i worked in restaurants for years, but i just didnt want to have to ask for bread or water refills. Waitress had to clean our tables when a busboy was right there on the phone. Bartender was great. Thanks for the drinks! Altogether, definitely going to make it here more frequently.

I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl and I love it now as much as I did when I was little. The service is good, sometimes a little slow but not to the point where I would consider it rude or poor customer service. They are always polite and attentive. The prices are reasonable and the portions are huge. I’ve had many different things on the menu and I couldn’t pick my favorite. A Throgs Neck landmark that is worth it

Just went there a couple of nights ago because my family and I were at a wake across the street. .the first complaint I have is that the woman that was there serving tables who I was told is one of the owners has a big time puss face attitude. .how do you have a business like that with such a terrible attitude a smile doesn’t cost a cent… and second of all 2 people ordered spaghetti and clams… and the clams were from the can not fresh… that’s a no. no…

I was 9 years old the last time I scarfed down a bowl of spaghetti from here. Motivated by nostalgia, I wasn’t expecting much when I decided to stop by 30 years later. After all, palettes can’t be fully trusted at 9 years old, right? WRONG! Apparently my tastebuds as a shorty told no tall tales! Chicken marsala was as savory today as it was when Ed Koch was the mayor. Tomato sauce was so good, I pissed myself off every time I saw sauce land on my napkin or shirt instead of in my mouth. Bread was warm, crusty and plentiful. My sole complaint(which will never threaten my 5-star rating) is the salad dressing. Salad itself was excellent, however their french dressing sadly isn’t the same bright, cheesy yellowish orange… clearly they’re using store-bought Kraft dressing. Oh well, not everything from my childhood is forever. Next time I’ll just order the salad with a safe bet, balsamic vinegar. The owner and waitstaff are as welcoming as their food and topping it off, their best sauces are for sale. I happily picked up 2 sauces for my very own jars of memory lane. I can only hope Louis or anyone else in his family never ever holds a restaurant retirement party. Not after this 9-year old repeated this delicious history 30 years later. Reason # 1,000,000 why my borough is better than your borough, city, state, country, continent, planet or universe…

Decent Italian food and great mixed drinks. The service was slow, very slow. As for the food, it was good but the sause was missing a pop. I added fresh basil and that made it. The staff is very nice and accommodating. I enjoyed my visit.

Good, old school, big portion, Italian food. Consistent for over 50 yrs. everything was good, from the hot bread when we sat down, to the excellent espresso at the end.

Stopped in last night with a friend. As soon as we walked in, all employees were sitting a the table in the center of the entrance. Looked like they were having a meeting but it was just slow for a Tuesday night. Seated right away, I got the impression that our waitress was the owner as well. She could definitely work on her customer service skills cause this dropped my star rating. A few times I almost asked her if we came to the restaurant at a wrong time. The food here is okay, not the best and not the worst either. My whole reason for coming and trying this place is because of the movie the Godfather but after my experience and reading that some others have had the same experience. I wont be back as well. I can give another shot for the food, but not the service.

Stopped here for lunch recently with about 7 friends. The food was pretty good. I didn’t care for the lentil and escarole soup. Too much carrots and celery in large chunks and it wasn’t soupy. The waitress was not friendly at all. Someone mentioned that she was the owner whose husband also works there. Husbands was very nice. Be aware the on parties of 6 or more they add a percentage to the bill for a tip, without mentioning it to you so if you don’t realize it you may leave a tip twice. My feeling is once they know the tip is guaranteed, they are not out to make a customer happy! Also, the owner shouldn’t get tipped . I don’t think we’ll be back.

I have had Italian food all over the world, but hands down, this is the best and it’s a couple of blocks from me! The best Italian cuisine, seafood, steaks! Today we indulged in an awesome crunchy, cheesy, saucy Margherita pizza, amazing eggplant and chicken Parmignia with ziti, lentil and chicken soup that is better than moms, and lunch specials that are huge! Bravo to the best! — at Louis Seafood Restaurant.

Overpriced for what it is. Def not worth it! Staff is rude! This place is a few dollors to tens of dollars more than other places depending on what you order. Food was average at best. Learn how to speak to people when they bring concerns to you. dont dismiss them as if they were children. Goodbye, oh and learn how to spell Louie’s.Louis does not spell what you call your place!

A neighborhood restaurant that delivers good food, decent drinks and has a good wine list. Wait staff is friendly and the food is reflective of what your mother would make if an important guest was coming to eat. Love the steak and fish entrees and the veal is out of this world.

What can u say, this place has been an institution for years in the throggs neck area. Set in the same décor for years makes this place always feel like old times, like your back home. Of course there’s a dish I come for here and that’s the eggplant parmigiana, nobody does it better anywhere!!! thanks for being real and authentic!!!

Have not been here in 25 years. Place is exactly the way I remember it. Not much has changed since then. Food is decent for an old school neighborhood place. Not gourmet by any stretch just a good old Italian place. They even have an old school juke box which was an interesting conversation with my seven year old son. If your in the neighborhood I recommend a stop in

Good food. All of the meals and appetizers were delicious. Not crowded. Can almost always get a table as a walk in with no wait.

Louie’s seafood is a local landmark. It’s been here for many years serving delicious Italian food and a variety of seafood dishes. Prices are fair and child friendly.

Growing up in the neighborhood, Louie’s was the go to place for a lot of us to get a good quick meal., especially before or after seeing a movie at the Interboro, which used to be next door. I had not been to Louie’s in about 20 years and I have to say that not much has changed. The food was decent(it was never great), as were the prices. The only drawback here was the wait staff. Even though we had reservations it took almost 40 minutes to get our table. It then took about 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged that we were there. It took a while to get our food and when we did I got the wrong order. So while everyone else ate, I waited. About 5 minutes after my food arrived one of the busboys asked me if he could take my plate. When I told him that I wasn’t finished yet he made a face and walked away. We were a party of seven and their policy is to add the tip onto the bill for a party that size. They won’t tell you that so make sure you check your bill if you have 6 or more in your party. Louie’s is a nice place with good food but if they want to get repeat business they need to hire a more professional wait staff. While it was nice to go back, I think I’ve had enough of Louie’s. I’m done with them. Found out recently that Louie’s Seafood will be closing around September or October.

I had read the reviews and was really excited about the idea of a family dinner here. The first thing I noticed was that they had set the table(for 14) right in the middle of where you walk into the restaurant. It was an awkward arrangement from the beginning. I had heard that it was old-style Italian food and I love old style Italian. This food was only okay. I am not Italian and can cook Italian food that is better than what I got. I ordered chicken parm, which is not something that is hard to make. The breading was soft. The sauce lacked any real flavor. The cheese was not that fresh home-made cheese that is typical of old school. The servers were meh. My pocketbook was hanging off my chair and it was constantly getting bumped into it, which sent it into my side. I would not return.

They got an old-fashioned toilet. You know, the box and the chain thing.
