I passed by at around 6pm yesterday and ordered some Taco’s only to be told 5min later the card machine just broke. This isn’t the first time this happens to me at a Mexican Restaurant but I have been noticing that they attend their own quickly and respectfully but any other race they don’t give a shit about you or your money.

Delicious, home made food. Reasonably priced. Gets one star reduced because the juke box blasts so loud you can hardly hear yourself think. Also, cash only, which if you don’t know ahead of time can be annoying. But, truly delicious food that tastes made from scratch. Maybe a little more meat and a little less rice and beans next time because I got three pieces of meat in my dish.

This place use to be so good. Idk what happened. The food is HORRIBLE. WHAT the chicken looks and taste like turkey meat. I couldn’t even finish 1 of the floutas. The dip taste like water and cilantro. The lemonade water with a slice of lime. The waitress was not attentive. I would never eat here again or recommend it to anyone!

Had a nicely portioned Chicken Tinga quesadilla, it was late(After 9pm), it was quickly prepared, and it tasted great! Will go back for the Nachos con cecina.

The staff is annoyingg. I ordered for pick up, 2 tacos, when I got there 10 minutes later the girl had forgot to put the order in. She was busy gossiping w the other coworker. Didn’t know not even 1 ounce of english. a man came to deliver some beers and asked What’s her name. She looked like she was breaking her head thinking. so I translated in Spanish. I mean ppl should at least know basic English –_– The tacos were greatt though.

Ordered take out it was dropped off at the front desk of building. I called an hr later asking for my food ready to cancel and they said«we left it downstairs». Clearly my food was cold since it was in the lobby for who knows how long. The delivery person enters as I grab my bad saying«the lady upstairs is mad» and I just look at him and get on the elevator. Staff claimed they paid for my meal since they ordered too and I corrected saying I paid with my card so if you paid for this and it wasn’t yours why pay for it. It left a bad taste in my mouth wont order again and the«quesadilla» looks like a gordita I asked for guacamole on the side«it doesn’t come with guacamole» WHAT? Byeeeeeee Feliciaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Ordered a gordita(3 gordidas) wasn’t charged the menu price and was missing a gordida. I called back and was told they come separate(look at the pictures it shows a gordida platter served with 3) I asked to speak to the manager and this kid(English speaking) tells me there is no manager… long story short. Out of the many times I ordered from this place, I am utterly f**king disappointed. FYI If the person you’re talking to doesn’t speak a lick of English and has a heavy Mexican accent your in the money! UPDATE: the gordidas were ordered after 20 minutes, I paid the difference and was given the other 4 gordidas. Even though it was a hassle, the food here is amazing

Great food, to be blunt. I’ll elaborate, though. After a visit to the Bontanical Gardens, we craved a bit of Mexican after the lackluster«South of the Border» experiences as of late. When you dig far enough, you sometimes find a gem. We did this time, that’s for sure. While the ambiance was clearly lacking any warmth or coziness, that’s not why we were there. We were friggin’ hungry! So, let’s get to the food: They were accommodating in making our order vegetarian, which was appreciated. First, the flautas. Served with rice, three flour tortilla rolls stuffed with back beans and a mild cheese, and black beans on the side. The crispy, flaky tubes were topped with lettuce, chopped tomato, and a bit of crumbled Chihuahua cheese. Served hot and having a super crunch, these were more than enough to satisfy my partner, and he can be a tough nut. I had the gorditas. Obviously made moments before sending it out to our table, they were like arepas… only crispy kinda like a fried knish. I can’t describe it otherwise except it was golden in color, perfectly fried, steaming hot, and stuffed to the max with black beans, cojita cheese, lettuce, tomato, and cilantro… drizzled(as if it needed it) with sour cream. I can’t say enough that these were some of the best items I’ve ever eaten in a Mexican themed restaurant/cart/whatever. Filling and perfect, three were served in an order. If you go, and in urge you to do so, ask for the red and green hot sauce. The red one is spicy, but not over the top, while the green sauce is mild. Either one was a great compliment to the great, home-style cooking. I’m not done with the food yet, though, as I’m leaving the best for last. What is it? The guacamole. In all of my years of working in the food business, eating out, and considering the amount of guacamole I’ve ingested… trust me when I tell you that this was the best I’ve ever had. Yes, ever. Creamy, perfectly seasoned, chunky, with just the right amount of cilantro and lime… it was very rich and screamed«FRESH». Guac-heads, please take note. It wasn’t made at our table, wasn’t called something different, not made with organic this or that… it was simply fantastic. If you don’t go for anything else, go for a plate of this green goodness. Service was polite and thorough. Prices were inexpensive. Atmosphere is utterly abysmal… but again, we weren’t here for that. If your in this region and like good Mexican nummies… hit this joint.

En varias beses he probado su rica comida solamente les aconsejo que la comida le ponga menos sal porque yo he comido el caldo de res y ha estado pasado de sal por regular ordeno en los domingos, y últimamente la comida tiene bastante sal gracias por su comprensión

OMG — the food is amazingly tasty!!! I ordered a Grilled Chicken Salad and it blew my mind. It came with avocado, grilled onions, a chicken to die for and some warm tortillas. My boyfriend ordered Chuletas en Salsa Verde and he didn’t even come up for air. The staff is super friendly. You have to pass by soon; I loved it and becoming a regular.

I feel magnanimous. I’m givin them an A for effort. I never believed this little non-descript lookin place could pleasantly surprise me each time. this is in my neighbourhood(one of the rare places i actually go to in my neighbourhood, instead of jumping on the train and heading down to manhattan.), and guaranteed to give me good food for a really cheap price. think $ 2.50 for a taco. maybe manhattan has spoiled me, but I thought this price reallyyy cheap. aside from the price, this place also taught me the difference between American and Mexican tacos/quesadilla/everything. so when I go now, I specifically ask for everything to be only Mexican :) that means, instead of flour tortillas, I get cornmeal tortillas, and those are not only tastier, but oh so very heavy and filling! and they are certainly more robust, and hold everything together well. I’ve never had a less messy experience with Mexican food. i have this down to ah tee, so now when I go with my partner in crime(and we usually have little money), we always get 3 quesadillas(and I love that I can order 1 chicken, 1 pork, 1 goat), along with 2 tacos. again, 1 beef and 1 goat :) I dare you both to not be satisfactorily stuffed with 1.5 quesadillas and 1 taco each :). after having a free bowl of homemade tortillas and salsa. and all for $ 14 on the side, you may also be interested by the lil quaint jukebox player thingy, and the latina girls in their short sexy dresses on weekends. but i’m a hardcore food lover, so the rest is just icing on de cake.

This was such a wonderful gem to find! I work nearby at Lehman College and decided to step inside since, of course, I love Mexican food. This place has THE best quesadillas I’ve ever had. Made to order, everything is fresh. I opted for a vegetarian quesadilla, made with sauteed mushrooms, jalapenos, cheese, crema, and a side of(optional) rice and beans. I skipped the rice and swapped it for some salad, but it’s all about the quesadillas. They are made with corn, not flour, tortillas. If you go and aren’t so keen on quesadillas, I still however recommend you give their side sauces(red and green, respectively) a chance(if you like spicy). Definitely worth a visit and then some.

Service is slow. Like a snail. Climbing a hill. With hurricane like winds pushing against it. However, the food is pretty solid, nothing special though. The music is so loud it hurts, and if yo go in with a female, good luck getting service, The waitstaff definitely caters to their male customers much better!

Dropped by for lunch between meetings at Lehman College. Authentic Mexican food, colossal portions, great prices, and a really friendly staff make this a great alternative to eating on campus. We had burrito, tacos and chilaquiles. The salt-cured beef(cecina) was a winner. Definitely will return, but may split a course between two people. Seriously, one main dish could feed a small army.
