I have had the fillet red snapper with assorted veggies a couple of times… Delicious! Food is always fresh and perfectly seasoned. Prices are worth it; dont really think it’s expensive here.

Looked like good food but the customer service stinks. Went in today and ordered a steamed fish and combination platter. For some reason they thought my husband said«crab» sticks instead of a combination platter. So they charged our credit card $ 14, even though we kept asking if this included the combo platter. The workers nodded yes but we still received the crab sticks. Again, we let them know that this was supposed to a combo platter they said it would be $ 5.50 more. They made the platter then gave it to my husband and he proceeded to put hot sauce and ketchup all over it. He then handed the cashier his credit card and this incompetent man said«you need a $ 10 minimum charge!» Um sir, we just paid you with our credit card for an order you fucked up. We don’t have cash, please just charge the card! But the cashier was not trying to hear it. So we left. With a refund. And no food. And that food probably went in the trash since it was saturated with ketchup and hot sauce. What a shame! Bad Business smh.

Love this place! Everytime i crave for seafood and im in the area, i always think DYERFISHMARKET! i really wish they had something like this in Northern NJ. I have ordered the Salmon fried and steamed BOTH really good! Make sure you add butter after they steam it. If you want it steamed, you can add packets of veggies for an extra cost(one packet is free). Ask for extra tartar sauce and put some lemon juice on ur stuff. Fries are crinkle cut just the way i like it! The best fish sammich ever! Yess i listened to you Unilocalers and finally decided to get the flounder on whole wheat. Man OHHHH man! Where have you been all my fish sammich eating life?! Put some tartar sauce on it and you’ll be in heaven!

Not a place to sit in but wont disappoint if youre carrying out! Their service leaves something to desire i would have given it five stars because as for the seasoning… just right!!! … Ratio of salt garlic and herbs was calculated just right veggies and fish are fresh steamed to order fish is self serve price is more than reasonable. Cant ask more from a local take out spot.

Yeah 5 stars! Thanks to Unilocal I found this gem, while I was hankering for some fried fish. They moved to a bigger location and sometimes that’s good, sometimes bad. This is good. First off the people are all smiles, the place smells like a fish market and a fry place, and the food was fookin spot on. The fries were your everyday crinkle fries but the flounder sandwich in whole wheat with tartar sauce was GOOOoooooodddd! Crunchy, flavorful, and a really great portion of it! This is the reason why I love Unilocal. It took me to a urban hood with a mix of beautiful people and I have a belly full of love. Come here! NOW!

So hot in here, and I don’t think they speak English. The wait took forever and I wasn’t very impressed with my meal.

I should really be giving this place one star but. No air-conditioning in 90+ degree weather. UNBEARABLE to stand inside and wait for your order to steam(camp out in Royal Caribbean across the street — only business on either side of the block with AC) Everything was on melting ice and no fried items being offered(guess it was due to the heat) All things aside, we still ordered and it was good! Salmon filet and two sides of veggies(cabbage mix/sliced sweet potatoes) and Jumbo shrimp w/rice and string beans. The shrimp were fantastic! Everything was well seasoned and the guys were extremely nice. Heat and all, I would definitely come again.

Woo! Wooooo!!! I am very pleased this is right near my train stop and they’re open late. Well, for the area at least. This is a great experience especially for a hole in wall spot. Do not let looks deceive. This place has a good option of fresh whole fish(blue fish, snapper, etc.), filets(catfish, porgie, whiting, salmon) and crab legs. They have other stuff as well like lobster tails, scallops and mussels but I would stick with the fish and crab. They steam or fry your food fresh and you choose everything yourself down to the seasoning. They have little bowls and you use tongs to pick the fish you want and all the veggies are $ 1.75 per packet and options like potatoes, broccoli, onions, spinach, squash, cabbage and carrots. You then tell them what sides you want like french fries or yellow rice and then the seasonings. I always get everything and ask for it spicy. It’s cooked to order so expect about a 15 – 20 min wait but its very worth it. Piping hot fish and veggies come out the steamer and quickly packaged. The fried fish sandwiches and crab legs are great too. Get the catfish on wheat and sauce your food at home so the bread doesn’t get soggy. I feel they make their own tartar sauce because it tastes so fresh. Prepare to be in a tight space though since it is very popular and very small.

I love that this place allows you to choose your seasoning for the seafood of choice for the steam selections. I like that they offer rice whether the food is steamed or fried. Yes it does get crowed, so expect to wait awhile. I like to get my steamed shrimp and love the option to get melted butter on the food.

I love this fish market. It gets so packed with orders because their seafood is so fresh. Ideally, you would want to pre-order your food by phone for pick-up but sometimes their available seafood and sides differ, from day to day. They have all the regulars, fried shrimp, fish and crab sticks, along with steamed fish and shellfish. Their steamed seafood comes with a vegetable side and a side of rice but I usually forego the rice and just get two vegetable sides which they season and steam along with the seafood. Some choices of veggie sides include sliced white or sweet potatoes, okra, onions, broccoli, carrots, cabbage and spinach. They also make a fish soup that certainly hits the spot on those cold-weather days. Dyre Fish Market is a neighborhood staple and is constantly swamped with its regulars so when you stop by, have an idea of what you want and when it’s done steaming, ask for butter!
