Dallas BBQ

This is my go to spot for drinks when I’m in New York spending time with friends.
The food is ok, I usually order wings or fried shrimp. But the drinks are delicious! Texas size with an extra shot makes them even better. My favorite locations are the one in Fordham and the one in Chelsea.

Lunch in the Bronx workplace calls for takeout order. While scanning Dallas BBQ’s website food menu, I opt for:
crispy shrimp (12 pcs) — with tartar sauce, corn bread and butter, yellow rice, cole slaw and Ginger Ale soda + one red, white, blue mini cupcake because it is Memorial Day holiday weekend totals $ 14.14
Shrimp were rather small amid being fried and battered. I prefer steam shrimp and large size. The yellow rice was good– thankfully not salty. The mini cupcake was good. We decided to pickup our multi orders rather wait for delivery due to the length of time. Portion size for shrimp and rice are abundant.

I was hungry, and since I was in the Bronx, I decided to order food. Not that many GOOD options, unfortunately! LOL. HOWEVER, I knew Dallas BBQ delievered long distances since they deliver by car :). I ordered chicken tenders with fries, and a bacon cheeseburger with fries; everything was really good!
What I do want to mention is that my order came with a huge soft, fresh, yummy piece of cornbread and two fresh yummy cupcakes! :D I’ve ordered Dallas BBQ, about more times than I can count, when in Manhattan, and they never gave me any desserts for FREE! HAHAHA.
Also, the gentleman who took my order was really helpful and professional. Thumbs up from me!
Now I know this IS THE SPOT when ordering food in the Bronx; this makes me so happy! :D

I’ve been to every Dallas BBQ in New York and this is by far the best one. I don’t care what the stars say — the Bronx BBQs is the BBQs that makes you feel the true experience of eating at a BBQs. A mix of different minorities, all of us in one place that’s kind of remained an in-​the-​know kind of experience even though it’s so popular. Idk, hard to explain, but I have really good memories associated with this place.
I really don’t care for the barbecue food here, but that’s alright because we all know there’s only one reason to come — HENNY COLADAS. I don’t even enjoy drinking that much and I will body 2 Henny coladas straight on my cheat days. They’re all I think about when I know I’m going to splurge. Paired with Henny wings, I feel so insanely guilty the next day I want to cry, but it’s always worth it because they’re so bomb. This BBQs makes them WAY stronger than any of the others, too. Keep that in mind. *winks*

The atmosphere was nice and chill. Drinks are always on point and the extra shot is always great. I always order the sticky wings but this time I tried the Hennessey wings, and without any surprise they were good.

I’ve never written a review on Unilocal,but this place made it absolutely necessary for me to write one. Trust me, you’ll want to read this before going here. Let’s start at the beginning:
I went here on a Friday evening after work with co-​workers for alcohol and greasy food after a long week. The place wasn’t terribly busy, yet it took our server a while to get to our table. Skipping ahead in the story, the drinks were extremely strong, which I didn’t mind at this particular moment. After eating, one of my Co-​workers and I pay the bill using credit cards. The server takes our cards, comes back with the cards and our receipts about 10 minutes later, and we leave.
Here’s the climax of this story:
About 3 days later, my credit card company contacts me regarding some suspicious activity on my account. Low and behold, it appears that someone tried to use my credit card number at 3 different places in the Bronx. It sure as hell wasn’t me in case you don’t realize yet where this story is going. Who could be using my CC number, you ask? Well, the last time I used my card was at this Dallas BBQ location. Also, that coworker of mine that also used a credit card at this restaurant? A certain someone also tried to fraudulently use that card’s number a few days after our visit to this restaurant. I think it’s obvious at this point in the story as to who is fraudulently using other people’s credit card numbers.
Conclusion:
I tried calling the restaurant just to let them know they have a thief working there. I was on hold for nearly half an hour before realizing that they probably don’t really care, because it is apparent that they’ll hire anyone who walks through the door.
TL;DR: If you want to eat/​drink here, sure, whatever. Do you. But don’t pay with a card, because your server is probably gonna try to buy sneakers and liquor with your card info.

The delivery service was fast and the food was great. I did not know that this restaurant deliver until I used my Unilocal app.

Best service today thanks to Tia P. She checked in regularly mad our orders at the table at a certain time and even the drinks were perfect. As many times as I’ve came to bbqs I’ve never had such a great server as the one I had today thank you so much for everything you did for us today. The next time we come back we will be sure to ask for your service

Friday night here is like a club. Music is too loud. Place is so crowded, voices are louder. Beer is cold but so is the food. More like Animal House, than a restaurant. Unless you want to party, stay home and get delivery. At least there you can choose your table.

To management: why blast music through a concert speaker via a DJ on a Saturday night instead of using the ceiling speakers already installed? The music was so loud I couldn’t even hear my family speaking at the table, nor the person right next to me. I get it, fun young night but I’m young and the music was too damn loud.
Don’t think I’m be back on a Saturday night.

Don’t understand why anyone would give this place 5 stars, the food was absolutely horrible. The steak I ordered was extremely fatty, the ribs had absolutely no meat on them. The bake potato was undercooked. The waitress’s I had was Alex she was very nice but you can tell she was given too many tables for any person to handle in a timely manner

Fordham’s Dallas BBQ and Crystal saved the day! I had to feed 20 people for my daughter’s bday after a local restaurant messed up my reservations royally. The food was amazing and they thought of everything. Better yet, it was ready in an hour! You need catering? This is the place.

i actually saw one of the servers spit in someones food so i asked for my bill and left,
i believe Natalie was her name. don’t let her be your server, one thing i wont do is go back there. I over heard her talking to someone about how ghetto and broke everyone is that comes in there because they dont tip her as much as she’d like. NOT OUR PROBLEM!
BEWARE!

came in on a sunday afternoon in a party of four with one child.
–we had to request a baby seat for the child
–place was nearly empty yet our order took about 45 minutes to come to our table
–waitress was very nice but looked overworked as if she had several more tables than she can handle
–when we finally received our food, my friends meals were cold as if they’ve been sitting out for over ten minutes
–when asked to speak to the manager he said he wouldn’t charge for the cold food and that he would replace it with warm meals right away
–the food was added on to our bill anyways. We didn’t end up paying
+nutcracker drink was on point
+sticky wings and fries were done correctly

Last day visiting in NY and the fan recommended this joint for delivery. Fast and efficient delivery service. Anyhow, whose here to read about delivery, lets talk about the food!
I ordered the Henney burger: delicious!!! Mouth watering delicious. Not the best burger I’ve ever had but it was good. They overcomes the meat but the BBQ sauce was amazing, and they give you plenty of sauce on the side.
I tried the Henney wings and they were pretty good. Huge, and I do mean HUGE wings! 5 were enough to fill up my man tank ;-)
Coleslaw was perfection, not too vinegary and not so much mayo.
Cornbread was southern deliciousness.
Fries were soggy but that’s expected with delivery, they were good. The side ranch sauce … I want to bathe in it!!!
The best part? The mini cupcake at the end.
I really can’t wait to come back to NYC and have a lazy day and order in :-)

BBQ’s is usually my boyfriend and I’s pit stop for a quick meal whenever we’re around. I’ve been to this specific location before and had no problems. I’m really not a fan of the food but my boyfriend likes it so I settle.
Well a few days ago I picked up my boyfriend from the airport and stopped at the Bronx location on our way back upstate and when we got there at 11 AM it was closed. There’s no hours posted on the doors or windows to let us know that. We saw servers running around inside so we knocked on the door to see if they could at least tell us when they were opening but no, we were ignored. We sat in the car for 30 minutes after calling and seeing that they open at 11:30 am.
Now onto our server…
Everything was okay at first. We were the first customers of the day, we quickly placed our order, my boyfriend ordered a drink (he was not ID’ed by the way), I just got water and a soda. Our «server» never asked us if we wanted a refill, she didn’t even bring us our food, someone from the kitchen did. I would understand if they were busy but there was only two other couples there, really? We quickly ate, tipped a few bucks in cash, and was on our way.
This morning my boyfriend checks his bank account and sees that this trashy server of ours STOLE $ 10 from him. She wrote $ 10 herself on the credit card slip as if it would go unnoticed? We are not cheap, I am an server myself so I understand and the service from this girl was horrible which is why she only got a few bucks and clearly she didn’t deserve anything more being that she stole from us.
My boyfriend immediately contacted the manager, Barry I believe his name was, and he was awesome in resolving this. He refunded the $ 10 and gave us a $ 25 gift card which wasn’t necessary but appreciated which is why I gave it 2 stars because really I just want to give it 1 but that wouldn’t be fair. I hope that shady chick got terminated.
The 42^nd street location is the best IMO, it’s always busy, but we’re always seated within 10 minutes when we arrive and we receive our food in a timely manner.

I prefer this location whenever I want to avoid the crazy crowds. I go not long after it opens. The food is super fresh (as expected) and the drinks never disappoint. The superman is my favorite drink! texas size with an extra shot, please :-)

Back again for some great wings, shrimp and corn on cob. But now prepare for the live dj on Sat night. Can not say this is good thing or not. I guess if the dj knew hip hop all night is not for everyone I might handle it better. But it can not spoil my meal.
I think the best thing for me. I’ve yet to have bad service here. The waiter was very attentive. And was always checking on us.

The sticky wings were sooooooo good!!! I had those, the baked beans, and their bulldog drink but with wine… its amazing. I love that there are options other than beer because I do not drink beer.
My waitress was really nice and the place is decorated nice as well. I enjoyed my time here and although I went the day before valentines day with my friend, her and I were seated rather quickly.
I would go back if I was in the mood for that type of food or good drinks.

On s’y était pris tôt pour pouvoir y manger mais ça vaut le coup serveuse chaleureuse et charmante^, faites attention au portions on c’est fait un peu avoir c’est qu’après le service qu’on a compris les gros yeux de la serveuse ^

nach dem steakhaus wolfgangs war das dallas bbq das essenshighlight unserer nyc reise. der burgerschuppen überhaupt. unscheinbar von aussen, da unten nur eine kleine bar ist. im ersten stock ist dann das restaurant. riesengroß, über 2 etagen. wir konnten aus dem oberen teil schön über den rest des schuppens bis nach draussen gucken. zu sechst haben wir uns die zwiebelringe geteilt. war genug für alle. die spare ribs und die burger waren der hammer. genauso der krautsalat. auf jedenfall lohnenswert. preise sind sogar günstiger als bei applebees, hardrock usw.

Die Burger sind OK nichts umwerfendes, aber essbar. Die Bedienungen sind i.O. aber machen einen permanent gestressten Eindruck. Kann man mal hingehen um was schnelles zwischen die Zähne zu bekommen, man verpasst aber auch nichts, wenn man einfach dran vorbei geht.

Der Laden ist gross und die Bedienungen sind freundlich und schnell. Ich habe auch nirgendwo so schnell mein Essen bekommen wie in diesem Lokal. Es wurde etwas Steakähnliches gereicht, was mit Garantie tiefgefroren und drei mal wieder aufgewärmt wurde. Kulinarisch war diese Küche ein absoluter Fehlgriff.

Dallas BBQ ist ein riesiger Laden über zwei Etagen am Times Square. Es sind irre viele Tische eng nebeneinander, aber das ist hier nun mal so und auch nicht schlimm.
Als wir ankamen, tranken alle Margheritas oder Coladas aus schönen, aber riesigen Gläsern. Später stellte sich heraus, dass diese Gläser «Texas Style» waren. Die Margheritas schmeckten super.
Wir wählten als Essen Hähnchen und Rippchen mit Pommes und Maisbrot (Combo)
Das Hähnchen war super saftig, die Barbecuesauce der Hit. Die Pommes sind mit Schale frittiert und auch sehr gut.
Die Rippchen waren ganz saftig, weich, und das Fleisch schön zu lösen.
Fazit: Für einen romantischen Abend vielleicht etwas zu groß, für ein amerikanisches Barbeque-​Erlebnis genau richtig.

Das Dallas BBQ heißt jetzt Virgil’s BBQ. Immer noch eine super Adresse. Nette, umsorgte Bedienung, Preis — Leistung völlig OK, vor allem wenn man bedenkt, dass man unmittelbar am Times Square ist. Von mir eine Empfehlung.

zum Abschluss meines New York Aufenthaltes habe war ich in diesem Lokal.
Ich wurde nicht entäuscht.
Die Spare Ribs (Baby Ribs) sind wirklich umwerfend. Das hervorragend gewürzte Fleisch fällt sehr schön vom Knochen ab.
Die Preise sind moderat.
Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert. ICh würde wieder dort hin gehen.

Einer der besten BBQ Laeden in Manhattan. Die Ribs sind umwerfend gut.
Der Service ist sehr freundlich und man fuehlt sich einfach rundum wohl.

Eins meiner absoluten Lieblings BBQ-​Restaurants in ganz New York City. Hier stimmt meiner Meinung nach einfach alles.
Man bekommt egal wie voll es ist ohne Wartezeit einen Tisch. Das Essen wird schnell gebracht und schmeckt superlecker!
Besonders zu empfehlen sind die Southern Fried Chicken Tenders in Honigsoße als Vorspeise für 7 Dollar und als Hauptgang die Shrimps Platte mit Pommes, Maisbrot und Salat für 10 Dollar.
Das Maisbrot dort ist wirklich das leckerste das ich je gegessen habe, unbedingt extra bestellen und mit Butter essen ;)
Man wird auf jeden Fall satt, die Portionen sind ziemlich groß.
Ich fand auch die Getränkepreise immer super, ein Texas-​Glas Cola, circa 0.5l, kostet schlappe 2 Dollar, da kann man nicht meckern.
Wenn man am Times Square ist empfehle ich auf jeden Fall hinzugehen, die Atmosphäre ist super und es macht eine Menge Spaß!
