Would never order a tres leches from them. Sucked & I found multiple egg shells in them. Beware.

I grew up eating here and have seen the change of owners affect the flavors of the food. The service is always pleasant. The flavors of the food have gone from great to «ok.» I stopped eating there because there was a broken glass in my meat… not a few shards, a full broken glass, where no piece had been removed. How do you plate when there is a full broken glass on the plate? When I brought it up to the waiter, he didn’t offer a manager and didn’t comp the visit. So, mediocre food with the chance of glass in my meal, is enough for me to generally avoid the place. Occasionally, I give in and get food from there because all other neighborhood Dominican restaurants are a major FAIL, but I don’t trust them and scan my food carefully.

As soon as I walked in there was no one to greet us, we sat ourselves. that should’ve been my que to turn around and leave. But we stayed and boy do I regret it. I ordered a avocado salad and when it arrived there was nothing in my plate except 3 halves of avocado, no lettuce, tomatoe etc. My mom ordered the pork chops with rice and beans and plantains. They bought out the pork chops and she waited 15 mins. for the rice, beans and plantains to arrive. Besides the long wait and feeling completely ignored the food was just so so. Would not go back.

I came to this restaurant sometime ago for Brunch. What they fail to say was there was only 40 minutes for brunch. We figured this out when we went up for seconds and there was no food left. When I asked the manager, he said there was nothing he can do. I asked him” how come you did not tell me it was ending?”. I probably would have ordered from the regular menu. He was rude and totally unprofessional. He made no effort to compensate for what had just happened. Finally he offered us drinks and when we got the bill, he had charged us for them and said he told us he would. It was a huge argument. I haven’t been back. I really had never been treated like that at a restaurant. He was so immature. They need a real manager who will go out for his customers.

The food is delicious and the staff is friendly, sometimes I’ll order something specific and they give me something else, but in general they’re awesome and deliver fast.

I wish Unilocal had a zero star option to rate this restaurant but Obviously, I’m forced to give them at least one star. I’ve placed a delivery order from this restaurant a few times hoping for the best. Unfortunately, I’ve been disappointed every time and I’ve finally decided to give up. A couple months ago, I placed a delivery order. First of all, the driver took over a century to arrive with the food. By the time the driver had arrived, my boyfriend and I died from starvation. We literally turned into skeletons. But that’s not all! They forgot a portion of the order which was the Morir Soñando. My boyfriend was so devastated. It became his favorite Dominican drink. He actually shredded a tear or two. After making that dreadful phone call to notify the cashier about our missing drinks, we had to patiently wait over 45 minutes for it to arrive. Meanwhile, we had no choice but to drink saliva to ease the food down our throats. It was very depressing but we had no choice since we already paid for it. Now let’s talk about today. At around 630pm I placed a delivery order. After realizing that I had no cash to pay for the food, I immediately called them back to pay with my card. Unfortunately it wasn’t as simple. The cashier gave me a hard time and said it was too late and suggested for me to go to an ATM! I kept my cool, but it seemed like she forgot to put me on hold and I heard the entire conversation between her and the servers complaining about me. I told her that I heard everything and ended the call because I felt it was disrespectful. She called back and finally accepted the payment via card. By the time I received my food order it was 745pm. Never again will I order from here because the head ache is just not worth it.

The Presidente beer was nice and cold, and the mofongo was tasty; but the service could use some training. One young lady was somewhat attentive, but the others not so much. The young man who seemed to be direct from the Republica Dominicana was the best of the group. Someone might want to invest in him, cause someday he could be running the place. Other than that, the food is regular Caridad menu. I would go back as long as that busboy continues his great service.

Gotta say best garlic sauce for the plantains and chicken I ever had. I got the steak and onions. It’s ok. A bit dry tho. Same for the chicken. The rice is good tho, w a hint of flavor and the beans are ok. But nothing wrong w having a nice modelo negro w it!

Went with a few friends and we just weren’t too pleased with the quality of the entrees. The service was acceptable however the taste of the food lacked quality. Usually Dominican spots such as these are known for cheap food served in large portions due to it being mostly starches like rice and plantains but even those items lacked great fresh taste. Everything tasted dry with too much salt sprinkled on top. Sorry there are much better and fresher Dominican spots are the Boroughs.

This is what happens when you read a lot of good reviews and get an ehh experience. I came for lunch. The restaurant was fairly empty and played very loud music. I parked in the lot around the corner so don’t worry about street parking. My waitress took a few more minutes than normal to greet and provide menus. Not sure why my table did not get a basket of bread like all the other patrons, but okay. The menu says, ask about the lunch menu but according to the waitress, that does not exist. Instead the waitress very quickly stated the options. Too quickly. The food was bleh. I ordered black bean rice with broiled chicken. Both were very dry. I also asked for avocado on the side. The waitress returned to say they ran out. Yet the table beside me got some on their plate less than 10 minutes later. After the waitress brought the bill, it took her quite some time to pick it up. Once she saw that I was approaching the cash register, she then paid mind. Odd experience and I probably won’t return. Tips: there’s a parking lot. yup, thats all i have to say… Happy dining!

I will never order from this place again. Called for a delivery and after waiting for an hour and a half called back just to be told that the system was down and they never took the order. Last time this place will waste my time.

I’ve been going to Caridad for over 5 years and the consistency is always the same Perfect flavor never over powered with condiments. The monfogo is always moist, nothing can ruin a meal like a dried up Monfogo.

I love Caridad in Kingsbridge, it’s such a welcoming atmosphere! I’ve had many different plates of food here including chicharon de pollo with white rice and red beans, as well as the bistec palomillo, fried pork chops, cheeseburger, banana split, maduros, tostones — their food is on point and so are their drinks. I’ve been a fan for years now and come here when I want good Spanish food.

Caridad in Kingsbridge never disappoints! Always delicious food and marvelous service. Tonight was Karaōke night but it seemed more like a real talent competition. Everyone that sang were very gifted. We were in the mood for our regular dishes; Camarafongo(Shrimp with a fried plantain dish) and pernil(roasted pork shoulder) with rice and beans. But before you even order, you’re greeted with a basket of hot, fresh garlic bread. We always ask fo a second basket for 2 simple reasons. The first is, it’s just simply delicious and the second being we’re simply pigs! Our Camarera Nisa, found a way to make us feel as if we were the only people in the restaurant. But on a Friday night, with every table filled, she proved to be a master. Caridad has a Puerto Rican — Dominican type of ambience. The culture of everyone here is to make you feel welcomed and at home. It’s just like the way our relatives treat us on the islands when we visit. As packed as it gets in Caridad, they never rush you to leave. On the contrary, the continue to ask if you’d like something else. If you’re not in the mood for an evening cocktail, then you just might like a coffee with desert. There are many Caridads, but the one is Kingsbridge has never let us down!

Really good place for food. They offer big delicious portions. An order of food will get two people full. My friends and I shared a shrimp penne a la vodka. Even though this isn’t an Italian place, the penne was pretty good. The shrimp made the penne pretty strong tasting. We also had the Chicken Mofongo. It was first time trying this dish and it was delicious. I would never have thought plantains would taste good with Chicken. However, I did not like the separate Chicken pieces that came with the Mofongo though. It was too salty for my taste. If you feel like splurging, get the Virgin Pina Colada. It tastes like heaven, but it will hurt your wallet. It’s $ 7, which is pretty expensive for a drink in my opinion.

This review is for their tres leche. I’ve been craving some for weeks now. Yesterday I went and go myself two pieces. Went home… dug in… and I died! I mean I died and then came back and died again! As I am typing this you can tell I am living. Anyway, it was delicious. I can’t give it 5 stars because… well it’s a CAKE! A little piece of heavenly… moist…succulent…cake… I think I’m going to walk back over there today.
