For a diner it was pretty average. Their coffee is decent and their homefries are good. Was a bit perturbed at the apparent lack of corned beef hash to go with eggs(did not see mention of it on the menu… boo) but otherwise, my eggs, bacon, toast & coffee hit the spot!!!

Food is delicious, cozy atmosphere. The best coffee in miles and get refills. My favorite place on a weekend.

Freshly made food. Large portions. They bake their own rolls and make a delicious apple crumb cake that can be served warm. The owner, Chris, greets and talks to all of his customers. Sincere dedication to their customers and fresh food.

The only thing I eat there is their breakfast which is usually eggs and bacon which are done perfectly. Everything else is mediocre and overpriced. Wait staff is friendly but not attentive. Sometimes hard to get refills on coffee or to get waited on right away. Hostesses are family members that are usually on a personal phone call when you go to pay the bill and are not friendly. Not the cleanest place as I recently saw a large roach walking across the back counter.

crappy diner food. i had the eggs benedict. the hollandaise sauce was bright yellow and runny, it tasted like they took a bunch of egg yolks and dumped a ton of salt in it. yuck! i ate it because i was drunk and tired, bad move. i’ve had an upset stomach all day and i know its not from all the drinks i had last night(i’m a pro drinker). i have lived in the neighborhood for over 30 years and had not been here in at least 10 years and i wish i kept the streak alive! What can I say, I am a big fan of diners and Blue Bay is a great example. My favorite thing about Diners is that you can get breakfast all day long. Blue Bay has an extensive menu and the food quality is consistent.

their breakfast was pretty good but I also ordered spaghetti for later and it lacked sauce and the meat tasted like dog food. the delivery wait wasn’t bad.

Decent diner, but sometimes they’re alittle lazy when it comes to listening to instructions on how their customers want their food cooked. When done right, the food is great though. I don’t appreciate the fact that they charge you the same price for a platter without home fries for the same price as a platter WITH home fries. They could also add alittle more seasoning to their home fries as they’re just a little bland. But other then that, it’s a decent diner and I’ve seen a lot worst.

It’s a shame. The food is barely adequate, At best so/so, but the service is so lousy! I have a disability I am on a wheelchair, yet a couple of times they’ve kept me waiting and served other people who came in waaaaay after me. I also found the waiting time 25 minutes to almost an hour. I call a waiter, they tell me «in a minute» The waiting staff were surly and rude too.. They seem to be much more caring to a more«kosher» and able bodied clientele as opposed to me. I talked to the manager and owners, but they just nod their heads and brush me off as if I don’t matter. It’s just the same I’ll never go to that greasy spoon dive again!

This place is fine. Everything is mediocre, though, and pricier than better diners in the area. There is literally nothing outstanding about this place — nothing bad, either, but I’ve definitely had food here and subsequently kind of regretted not staying home and making it myself. They’re the biggest game in town though and the only diner serving the Johnson Ave area.

A restaurant with poor quality food. Staff can be rude and disrespectful. They want you out before your last bite.

This has become a weekly spot for me. I enjoy the California Omelette with Rye Toast. Today there was no home fries so I had the baked sweet potato which was an excellent alternative. I absolutely love the tap water. They have the best water in the area. AND they have an infinite amount! Portion size is comparable to costs. I’m a big fan of this local spot and I’m writing this in hopes to get my next meal comped.

This place has excellent food, however if you are going to get a delivery or takeout, order from grub hub, do not call. The woman who answers the phone can’t get a single order correct. My Grandma often orders food from this place, if I’m not around I can’t do the order online for her. Every single time the woman gets something wrong. Its not just with my Grandma, prior to the online ordering being available for Blue Bay, the woman couldn’t even get your address correct. I think she must be related to someone who owns the place or at least screwing them because I’ve mentioned it to the manager at least 3 times, and he recognizes the issue says something will be done, yet they still keep her employed there. Other than that, the food is really good. Great breakfast on weekends.

The food is great, but if you don’t ask you don’t get. I order $ 50 worth of food for delivery, no silverware napkins, so i called. This is what I was told«We don’t put in silverware or napkins unless you asked» Totally ridiculous! Never heard anything like this in my whole life. I asked what kind of potatoes you have to go with the dinners I ordered and was told«We have sweet potatoes, mashed, baked and french fries. I was thrilled to hear they have sweet potatoes. So I ordered 2 sweet potatoes and 1 baked. I said sour cream for the baked and high and dry for the sweet potatoes, no butter nothing just 2 sweet potatoes as there are! Well, when the ordered came I got all that I ordered, but was very very very disappointed. The Sweet Potatoes turned out to be CANDIEDYAMS, SOAKEDINHONEYORMAPLESYRUPANDORSOMETHINGYUCKY So in the garbage. My point is you have to ask and they ask again and try it one more time to make sure your getting what you ordered. Needless to say, the food is really good, the service in and delivery is good, but you have to make sure what your ordering! YES I WILLORDERFROMTHEM AGAIN!

I’ve eaten here at the blue day restaurant several times and I keep on forgetting how in adequate service customer service the food is marginally okay I don’t recommend this places.

It’s a diner with diner food. Service is mediocre. I’ve been here and have had to wait an eternity for my check because the waitress taking care of me is sitting down enjoying a meal.

This place was the«It» spot for many years. Large portions and good food. As of late it’s just really expensive bland just above eatable. As the older crowd dies off, this place will eventually close because they are doing NOTHING to bring back customers. And for the love of GOD get a wait staff that can actually provide you service.

I have eaten at the Blue Bay for about 25 years and the service and food have deteriorated badly over the past few years. The food is bland and the menu never changes. When the original owners were present it was better — now the next generation runs it and they are busier talking about the Yankees with their friends than insuring the joint is running properly. I have recently gone elsewhere for better food and service

I’ve been going to The Blue Bay for over 30 years(since I was a kid), and this place has gone from great to terrible. Ate there last night and was grateful to have made it out alive. I ordered«The Blue Bay Burger», a signature(and I figured safe) dish. Nope. Charcoal taste and gristly, with awful tasting blue cheese crumbles, it was anything but good. The fries were cold to boot. My girlfriend ordered the grilled chicken kabob and she could barely eat it, the chicken was not fresh at all. In fact, it may have been expired. My great aunt ordered the crab cakes. Yikes! Her last words over the meal were; «I really don’t like food anymore». That must be why she loves Blue Bay. Nuff said.

I’m a little surprised about some of the reviews here. I get that it isn’t the sexiest place around, but the age of the patrons shouldn’t really matter … Blue Bay is basically my local diner. I’ve eaten here a ton of times, both in the restaurant & take-out. Only recently did I have anything besides breakfast here. First, the breakfast. I love it. The omelets are bangin’. I love getting the Blue Bay Omelet(avocado, mozz, sour cream, tomatoes, onions). But it’s very heavy. Very. I am always basically done for the day after one of those. But they have a great selection of omelets. The other items I’ve ordered(& dining companions have ordered) have just been mediocre. Recently went with my mom, I got a chicken caesar wrap & mom got a burger. She was unimpressed with her burger, and my wrap was only okay. However, she asked for extra pickles and they brought her a whole bucket! Literally. She loved that. Miscellaneous — the waitstaff is always extremely friendly. The … manager? owner? always welcomes you with a smile. The place has always seemed very clean to me as well. Bottom line — it’s a diner to me. I will definitely eat here again. I won’t ever have extremely high expectations for the place.
