Nice place to sit down and have a cup of coffee, frappucino or whatever you want. Lots of people also seem to come here to study and work in quiet. Only complaint is sometimes they can be slow in getting the drinks but overall I like it. Also, tip, they don’t take Starbucks gift cards since they’re technically Barnes & Noble. So use a Barnes & Noble gift card if you have it instead and buy a book too!

The coffee at this location always tastes burnt! I don’t know if they don’t clean their machines or adjust their grinders, but I’ve given up on this location.

I came here on a class trip with my students and we had a wonderful time! The staff was great accommodating a group of 25 students. I want to bring another group this year and I am sure they will be as accommodating as the year before.

I’ve gone to the Barnes & Noble in Bay Plaza for close to 10 years. I’ve purchased gifts there for my family members and friends. The nice thing about the staff is that they leave you alone; you are allowed to roam through the shelves unencumbered, which gives the store a different feel from B&N stores in other parts of the city. My checkout experience has generally been quick and the checkout staff has always been pleasant. I have not sat for tea or pastries, so I can’t really evaluate that aspect of the store. It’s sad that the Bronx only has one bookstore that’s not attached to a college campus. However, I’m glad that we have the B&N at Bay Plaza. There is nothing ghetto about it and for me it’s very comparable to the B&N stores on 86th Street(my favorite), Union Square(great for management and test prep books), and Court Street(a very nice children’s section).

As the only Barnes & Noble store in the Bronx, this store located at the Bay Plaza shopping center in Co-op City offers a great selection of books, DVDs, CDs and other items for booklovers everywhere. Staffed with a full café serving Starbucks coffee and baked goods such as specialty cheescakes and brownies, this is one of the the nicest stores I’ve visited. As a former employee(worked at one in Florida), this store has a modern feel compared to older stores in Manhattan. Staff are helpful and the store hosts many book signings and events that benefit the local community. Members of the B&N Membership Program get 10% off their purchases(including café). The quiet atmosphere is a change of the busy and noisy K-Mart store located next door. With the rise of e-books and the closure of many bookstores chains such as Borders and Waldenbooks, I hope that this location remains open as a physical bookstore is always a nice place to retreat and spark one’s interest in books.

Definitely hood up in here… but always plenty of seating in the café for you to just plop down, have a latte, and get some work done.

Yeah I have to agree that this place doesn’t hire the brightest, but damn they’re quick. Ive seen their line move quick and that was on Harry Potter night. Now,. why people wonder why it takes so long for their order to get made makes me think. well try ordering something YOU can make and then see how fast it’ll get done. I honestly think it’s the customers who prevent the chain from hiring quality. As a matter of fact I was told back in High School that I’d be better off working where my skills are better put to use than there — by the manager! And well it’s a café with starbucks coffee and cheesecake factory goods. In the Bronx. We haven’t quite sold out yet.

Pretty Ghetto. They’ve got fountain drinks and feature a chicken fryer. The help is straight from the juvie half-way house. But honestly? They were very nice and helpful and made fresh decaf when I ordered it.
