The Moon Tower Bar & Grill

I love this place! Have the bacon appetizer, it’s amazing! Our group had the blackened fish, steak, and Mountain Fork Burger. Everything was delish! They bring out fresh pork rinds that are very addictive, and they also have a beautiful patio area. Check them out.

We were at Moon Tower on Memorial Day night. The restaurant was recommended by a couple of people, and we wanted to watch the Thunder game. This was the perfect spot except for service and the food. Our waitress was a no-​show most of the night. She and the other waitresses sat across the restaurant eating dinner and talking. A man (we suppose the manager) came over and took our drink orders. He then recommended their wings and boasted about their «Chopped» and Fair winning chef. After he took our wing order, the waitress came to our table to take our order. We told her we had already ordered. The wings came with carrots, celery, and dip. The veggies were good. The wings had very little flavor. Those were pushed aside. We then tried to flag down our waitress but couldn’t get her attention. Again, the man came over and asked if we wanted anything else. We ordered the deviled eggs… THEY WERE DELICIOUS! After we were finished, the waitress came over for our order… we told her we had just finished the eggs. She disappeared. About 20 minutes later, we decided to try the pecan pie. The waitress was holding her purse and watching the game at the bar. The man who had waited on us was watching the game. We could not get anyone’s attention. We finally walked to the bar and asked for a piece of pie. It came out and wasn’t much better than a store bought pie with sauce on it.
Food wasn’t great and service was not good. If we go back, it will be only to have a drink. They have a fabulous view and band venue out the back deck.

Came here for dinner while vacationing in Broken Bow and had some great food. We started with the loaded fries which were flavorful and delicious. For entrée I had the fried chicken meal which was seriously tasty! I was actually surprised by how good everything on my plate was. The only thing i didn’t care for was the apple butter, but the biscuit was so good that it didn’t even need butter, so no loss there.
The atmosphere and view from the patio was nice. I’d give 4.5 stars if I could. The reason for not giving 5 is for the slow and inattentive service.
I’ll definitely be eating here again on my next visit.

Looked forward to trying this place and I’m so glad we did! I won’t knock them for the under-​seasoned pork rinds they bring to the table, but when we tried them we were like «meh». But I WAS blown away by the MTBG loaded fries (poutine). Everything in that dish was perfection. Will again look forward to a repeat!

Was seated just before 8pm. It’s 9:22, still no food. woooooow. 9:24, my food arrived! Still nothing for my wife? 9:26 hers is here now. I got the $ 33 ribeye. It’s good but nothing special. It came with fries and NO other side. For $ 33. Wife wanted fried chicken but they were out. Changed to burger. Bacon on burger is religious experience. Live music was nice.
Won’t be back.

Wonderful wonderful food! The wait staff was fantastic. The bartender was efficient, friendly and very well trained. She was great. We stopped on a long weekend mini vacation because I found this place on Unilocal and I give it a 5 star! Stop if you are in the area. You won’t be disappointed.

We had the pleasure to dine here on 5÷9÷2016 and wanted to share our experience:
So we decided to go to broken bow for the first time and we were Unilocaling restraunts to try, as everyone does, as an aside «Chopped» is our favorite TV show. The fates luckily intervened and Tabb Singleton who is a chopped champ opened «Moon Tower Bar & Grill» here in 2015. I could simply say best dinner ever but don’t want you to think I’m exaggerating. First, free house made pork rinds lightly seasoned and tasty to eat while perusing the menu. Starter fried alligator tail (special that night) drizzled with sweet/​tangy sauce resting on a bed of arugula and a house made «tartar sauce» (not really but don’t know what to call it, hope tartar sauce isn’t offensive; it’s capers + herbs+ mayo+ seasonings I couldn’t figure it all out but it was fantastic). Second appetizer (don’t judge me) loaded fries. Braised short ribs + herbs+ cheese curd (that’s like pre cheese, I think) piled on fries floating in a succulent jus = melt gooey heaven. I then re-​encountered the short rib in my main dish (you can’t have too much braised meat). Fresh lightly toasted french bread +cheese (smoked provolone, enough, not overwhelming the meat is the sandwich star) and the braised beef with, giardiniera, house pickled veggies that you can eat on their own (even the celery, nobody eats celery on its own). The wife had the special, an amazing by itself BLT (house smoked bacon as thick as your finger) and as if a BLT isn’t good enough let’s fry a fist full of delicate oysters and put them on there with a spicy, not too spicy, mayo. Home made crab mac&cheese enough said. I screwed myself out of dessert by eating everything else that came before: (Me and the wife have 3 memorable meals in the 10 years we have been together and this is one. If we didn’t live 4 hours away this would be a weekly dining joy for us and we’re not restaurant people but enjoy good food. Don’t let the simple façade of the restaurant or its demure interior deter you… this is 5 star food for two dollar sign prices you can eat wearing flip flops and not be judged under dressed, that’s a dream come true in my world.

Let me start off by saying for me to give a place 5 stars the food has to be great, the staff great and not too over priced.
Well this place hit that mark and exceeded it. My girlfriend and I came in from Dallas area for a weekend and both foodies. We were excited after we found out the chef/​owner worked under Emeril Lagasse and won an episode on Chopped. Our expectations were blown away.
The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the special which was spare ribs, cucumber/​vinaigrette salad and crawfish macaroni/​cheese. She ordered the fried chicken that comes with a large biscuit and Gouda mc n cheese.
My ribs were THE BEST spare ribs I’ve eaten. The seasoning was incredible and they fell off the bone. Salad was good and the Mac n cheese with crawfish was really good.
Her fried chicken ranks in top three I’ve ever had. Her mac n cheese was really good also. That biscuit was hands down the best biscuit I’ve eaten.
We sat by the kitchen and watched Chef Tabb Singleton run the line. Very impressive and seemed like a good leader.
We topped off the dinner with the only dessert they offer. Bourbon pecan pie. Out of this world good!!!
You have to eat at this place if you appreciate good food. This place would rank very high in a place like Dallas or Fort Worth.

The place is nice. This was our first visit to this new restaurant.
I will give the facility 5 Stars.
I will give the food 4 Stars. Only because I’m not into the organic thing.
I had the soft pretzel appetizer and Ribeye. Both were good.
I asked the waiter if they had Chardonnay and he had no clue. He got the drink menu for me. They did and it was good.
My advice is to the co-​owners. If you have your partner working hard in the kitchen and a table that has waited 45 plus minutes, then get up from the bar and get involved. I watched as you and your wife sat and watched business. You should connect with those supporting your business.
You have real potential. Don’t neglect it.

The food was absolutely amazing! We were told to get the bacon appetizer and we are glad we didn’t skip it! We also got the soft pretzels with beer cheese which was amazing. Keep your beer cheese though because you’ll want it for your biscuit! Chicken and biscuit with the Gouda Mac n cheese is delicious! Dipping the cheese biscuit in the beer cheese was a special surprise. Don’t miss out on this amazing stop!

Neat place, very clean. Enjoyed the live music. Cool atmosphere. The food was good! I really enjoyed the black eyed pea hummus appetizer with pita bread! My fiancé had the buttermilk fried chicken with Mac and cheese. He said it was delicious. I had the loaded fries. They were tasty as well, huge portion so I wasn’t able to finish them! The food is good and you get large portions. Will be back on our next trip!

Fantastic find in a small town !!! Local beer and gourmet food! I had the short rib hoagie and was blown away. Highly recommend for their great atmosphere, live music, family friendly, large beer selection and incredible food!

We truly enjoyed everything about this place! The atmosphere, food, live music and proximity to our cabin.
We sat on the back patio that has large plastic tables all set up (enough for a group of 8 per table). We had a great view of the mini pond, nature, and gentleman strumming his guitar. The service was great, our waitress was sweet and attentive.
They start your table off with pork grinds, not a fan– meh. we started with the wings which were great! The sauce on them was a sauce I’d never tasted before– def worth the try! I got the Reuben and my boyfriend got the short rib sandwich, both served with over peppered fries but tasty!
They also have a good beer list of all sorts!

Great restaurant with innovative menu and nightly specials. I have eaten there often and have always been impressed.

Third time is charmed! After two previous attempts, we finally got to eat at the Moon Tower. We visited the Moon Tower Bar and Grill at about 5 pm on a Thursday. We received a friendly greeting at the door and offered our choice of seats in the spacious dining room. A waitress took our drink orders and left us to look over the menu. We were wavering between the Buttermilk Fried Chicken and or one of the burgers. Our waitress told us that the chicken pieces were bone in thighs. So we went with the chicken. The fried chicken comes with Gouda Mac and Cheese, cheddar cheese biscuit, honey hot sauce butter, three BONELESS CHICKEN BREASTS and pickles. I liked the fact that the chicken was skinless. I didn’t care for the butter. I loved the pickles. The chicken portions were huge. I’m really surprised that at a famous chef’s restaurant that the wait staff was unfamiliar with the menu.

Wow! Every bite gets a wow!
So our group of 12 went here with no clue as to expectations! Wow!!! Food, service, atmosphere was all amazing. We ordered the deviled eggs as an appetizer, very good. The pork rinds were a nice surprise to replace chips as a complimentary appetizer. The hamburgers were fantastic even the portobello mushroom burger. We plan to return to check out the live entertainment on Saturday night!

We were a party of twelve crazy female relatives and everyone absolutely loved everything we ate! It’s hard to pick a fave out of what all we had, but I’m still thinking about those loaded fries… we added bacon to them but they sure didn’t need anything! Burgers are just amazing and huge! Yummy! We will be back for sure!

We got a to-​go order to enjoy in our cabin and were blown away! The burger was delicious and huge! The flat bread of the day was the best flatbread we’ve ever had — full of flavor and loaded with toppings and a savory sauce! We are so excited the have another place to eat when we come visit Hochatown — check it out! Can’t wait to try more items.

Fantastic food! The burger was great and flavorful. The wings were perfectly cooked and well dressed. I highly recommend eating at this restaurant.
