As stated on a prior review, I try to avoid this place at all costs even though its the one closest to me. The store generally looks dirty and not cleaned but what I really hate is going there after work, having to wait inline behind 5 other people because they have 1 register open and nobody bagging… I don’t want to bag my stuff, that’s your job! If you go in the afternoon or early evening this isn’t an issue… But around 6:30 — 7:00 it happens… I drive further now to stop and shop just to avoid coming here… I will if I’m really tight on time… Other then that, it isn’t worth it to me

I used to go to the one in Easton all the time then it started to really slide. I haven’t been in years but saw the ad for chicken lobsters and figured they couldn’t screw that up. I got to the place at 7:30am Sunday and there were about 4 other customers in the whole place. Of course, they had no lobsters. I went to Market Basket down the street in Raynham as they had the same sale. The place was packed as usual(8am Sun) and they had plenty of sea bugs. There was a line of 6 – 7 people ahead of me at the counter but it went fast. I ended up buying a few other things as well while there. Stick a fork in Shaws, its done.

Yes, alas and alack, Shaw’s will be biting the dust. Sad because I remember a million years ago when THEY were the new kids in town, buying out the BPM, and putting A&P out of business. After 3 Shawless years I decided to give them another try. Their latest flyer looked good, and I hoped that they would now have new ideas to fight for life. But what I witnessed yesterday demonstrated that they deserve to be out of business: 1) the worst selections of yogurt I’ve ever seen. 2) no plastic bags at the meat counter 3) the deli had one guy working and 5 customers waiting. Finally a customer(not me) shouted at a guy she could clearly see shirking his duties to get over and help. He did. But then I saw the fly buzzing around inside the deli glass counter, and lost my appetite for anything contained therein. There were some good points, but the store is too far gone to save.

Is it just me, or do most Shaw’s Supermarkets look like they haven’t been updated in years? This Shaw’s isn’t any different. The aisles are small, crowded and it’s sometimes difficult to find what you need(even with signs). The store doesn’t seem as bright as a Stop & Shop might and I find the prices to be more expensive than other grocery stores. Another problem I find is that even though they have ten registers, they never have more than a few open and the lines are often very long. The only good thing this place has going about it is they carry better Raspberries than Stop & Shop! Oh and I’ve also found the cashiers to be very polite. I only shop there if I am too lazy to drive to the Stop & Shop. This Shaw’s is really close to my house but I try to avoid it at all costs.
