Awesome subs. Delicious sauce to take home by the quart. Meetballs are so good as are the sausages and chicken parm. This place has it right. I ate here in the 70’s as a kid and it has always been a Brockton favorite right up there with Cape Cod Pizza. It is however geared to take out orders. There are some tables, but not too many and it is not a restaurant atmosphere whatsoever. Just standard pizza place booths. People will be picking up their take out orders within 5 or 6 feet of your table the whole time you are eating if you decide to eat in. The food is delicious though. ***would be 5 stars, but I got extremely overcooked sausages last time(first time ever though). Plus it’s in the Campello section of Main St., practically across the street from a very busy liquor store. Not the worst area, but it’s not so great either. There’s barely any parking.

My boyfriend wanted pizza but somehow we ended up here. And though we didn’t get what we wanted, we were happy with the decision to stay. A pleasant, polite Paul took our order. The wait wasn’t long. Despite wanting it to go we ended up staying to enjoy our food. Wow, is all I can say. The chicken parm was yummy. Nice ratio of soft vs. crunchy texture and a tasty sauce as well. The lasagna was sitting in a really great sauce and I’m sure the pasta and cheeses were fresh. Everything tasted authentic. We see why there were great reviews of the restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will be returning soon.

I stopped here for a late lunch. I asked for the chicken parm and the chicken itself wasn’t crispy but the flavor was good. Food did come out extremely fast which makes me question freshness of the product. So basically food was ok if you’re hungry. Also to note I found the spaghetti portion on the plate to be on the small side. Tomato sauce was also really good !

First off, I love the grocery section of this place! It’s a hidden gem! The rolls are fresh, and the selection of meat is unbelievable. It was my first time eating there, and I had to say that the food was delcious and filling. I had the turkey sub which came with stuffing and cranberry sauce! It felt like a Thanksgiving meal in between a sub roll. Their selection looked great, and I’ll 100% go back to try their pasta dishes!

This is a great place to grab a meal! I’ve tried almost everything on the menu LoL! One of my favorite things to order there for lunch, is to order a salad,(personally I like the Greek Salad, the dressing they use is fantastic and they are very generous with the cheese too) and I also have them add a couple of meatballs and a sausage on the side. They also include a bun. Doing this allows me to skip the pasta have a salad eat like a king and still dip the bread in there absolutely yummy delicious homemade tomato sauce. Speaking of tomato sauce, they have by far one of the best. We like it better than some of the fancier restaurants we go to and often find ourselves comparing their’s to others as well. It’s really the perfect balance it’s not spicy nor sweet but definitely would never be confused with bland. Just leaving this review is making me hungry! I had a great lunch today there and now plan to go again tomorrow. I’ll mix it up though and get the trio which allows me to have a nice mix of pastas :)

I had been here all the time growing up. I always liked it but was so happy to be re-introduced to it again. I really like their meatballs and sausages. I don’t think they have done like others and moved to frozen food service ones. They still taste above and beyond those found at most other places. The same with their sauce, it doesn’t tasted like plain old canned sauce, seems like it is given some special attention and or seasonings at least. Everything on the menu is decent quality and decent volume for your money.

Tremendous food!!! Be ready to order though once you get up to the counter. It’s fast paced. Wish I lived closer to enjoy on a weekly basis.

I bought a Chicken Parmesan Sub with extra cheese. My sub was dry and didn’t have flavor. I was expecting a delicious lunch extremely disappointed.

A mainstay in Brockton’s rough and tumble Campello neighborhood. Except for this establishment and Cape Cod Café there’s not much to visit on this side of town anymore. The food quality and fast lunch options are what keeps this family owned buisness afloat. Classic Italian Dishes are made with homemade ingredients. Chicken Parm and Meatballs are my personal favorites. The salad and homemade dressing compliment as a perfect side to any meal and can be ordered in addition or in place of pasta if your not looking to carb up. All meals or salads come with fresh Italian Rolls. If you just want a quick sub sandwich those are great as well. Stop in the Deli adjoining the sit down restaurant. Fresh Cold Cuts and specialty Italian grocery options are available. Parking is available in lots directly across the street or to the right of the building. Just expect good food and quick service. There are no waiters here go right to the counter. They’ll take care of you. And they will bus your table as well. Paul and company aren’t always the friendliest to strangers or regulars alike he knows his foods good and that’s why they come back.

This is one of best Italian places in MA, very old school. I love the sauce and its not chunky. My favorite would be the eggplant parm unreal so tasty but then again everything there is always great.

This is the hidden gem of Brockton. Top-notch Italian food. Their chicken Parmesan is to die for and the best meatballs in the business. this is probably one of the only perks of growing up in Brockton

Solid, old school red sauce Italian. Family style seating on rest. side is different but kind of cool in an old fashioned way. Lasagna is decent, their red sauce is delicious but a little bland because it’s made for the masses. I’ve always loved their meatballs & sauce. My Dad or Mom would always bring home balls & sauce and we’d cook our own pasta, and it was a family favorite in the 70s &80s. Deli side is great too. Swedish meatball mix is best I’ve ever had. Stopped recently when I was in the area and got 2 Meatball subs. Kind of skimpy and they were like breadballs but taste was good. Needed much more sauce as sub was dry but I’ll tell ‘em next time that I like extra red sauce. Definitely not 5 star worthy overall a 3.5−4 star Nostalgia throwback type of place. Prices everywhere are higher so I understand some of the negative reviews on here re: price.

Been coming here for years. Best sauce(gravy) ever and the chicken parm and potato salad are excellent.

I have been coming here for years. I’ve never had a bad sandwich or dish. My usual go to is the chicken parm or meatball sub with provolone and grated cheese. If you are lucky enough to come on a day that they have bruschetta I highly recommend it! Best two dollars you will spend. Their soups and salads are also delicious, the antipasto being my favorite. If you go the route of salad get the house Italian dressing. The price is very reasonable and food always comes very quickly.

This place is the real deal! For sandwiches, try the the prosciutto and roasted red peppers or the eggplant parm or the chicken parm or the meatball or the veal parm, and you be very happy. It’s like walking into the past. Very low key, like your Nana’s cooking. Deeeeee-lish. The best meatballs and sauce. Go next door and buy their meatball mix so you can cook them at home. Very inexpensive red sauce Italian. The best. A hidden gem. Mangia!

I will turn 60 in Dec. & I’ve been going to the IK since it opened, saving up .75 for a meatball sub every Saturday after Little League. Have never had a bad dish in there & I’ve had them all. When I walk up to the counter & can’t decide, I get the poo poo platter. They also have great seasonal specials like Beef Stew on those cold winter days & it’s just like how my Mom used to make it. Love the Baked Haddock, Shrimp Scampi when on special. Veal & Eggplant are exceptional. Gus & John Tosches always friendly along with Paul, Jo-Anne & the rest of staff. Big bonus is deli & catering next door. Have used them on many occasions & the word that keeps popping up is consistent… everything tastes the same as it was in the 60’s…great!

Finally ate here after putting it off all these years. I wasn’t impressed nor disappointed. The food was mediocre and they also have a deli attached that sells meats & cheeses at a reasonable price. They also sell refrigerated and frozen meals. I had the spinache ravioli that only came with 2 meatballs. I have to try their turkey pot pie.

Italian Kitchen offers a food shop, and a restaurant attached to eachother. Every Christmas my family get the lunch meat for antipasto. They offer a bunch of imported products, deli type products, frozen pastas and so on, and hot packaged foods, and uncooked meats. Everything is excellent, the customer service is great. The restaurant is also amazing. I recommend the chicken parm, I dont know how they do it, but it seems to be wrapped around some cheese and a very light breading, and its absolutely delicious, and is very light, and not greasy at all. They also offer all kinds of subs which are great. Ive also had the meatballs, lasagna, salad, stuffed pasta things, and everything comes with these awesome fresh blukie rolls. My least favorite thing is probably the meatballs, and thats just because there not my grampas lol! Everything is great here, I highly recommend. Only downside they close early, by 7pm I think, they’re closed Sundays, and the parking can be tough.
