Why-o-Why does this basic lunch counter charge 8 bucks for a simple tuna sandwich? It makes me want to open a vein every time I go back which I do because I am stuck having lunch in Brockton, a veritable wasteland. On the bright side, the lemon chicken soup is GREAT and the place is clean and well-lit(not something you can say for very many places in that town).

For ever people at work have been raving about this place. So I tried it today. Maybe I was expecting something magical. It was good –but it should be at $ 8 for a tuna wrap.

I had a delicious lunch here a few weeks back. Turkey club sandwich(comes with chips and a pickle) made fresh and quick with a side of greek pasta salad. Pasta salad seems to be their specialty and they live up to that reputation. Also, very moderately priced considering the amount of food you get.

The Gourmet Café is a very small establishment in down-town Brockton. The food here is so good, and you can actually watch the people make it for you, which is very reassuring that you’re getting what you asked for. The staff is very friendly and polite. The atmosphere is very casual. They offer a variety of sandwiches and wraps. I usually get the Fredwich(tuna on toasted scala bread with lettuce and tomato, it comes with a pickle and chips for 4.99). I’m also a huge fan of their greek salad wrap that comes with all the fixings, lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, peppers, onions, feta cheese and greek dressing also with chips and a pickle for 4.95. The portions are huge, and the food is exceptional. I’d recommend it to people on the go, since the restaurant only has about 10 tables.
