Broad View Eye Center

Stopped in today to get an estimate on getting glasses (I had my prescription). The young lady was very nice and answered my questions about their pricing. She indicated there was a sale — that you get a second pair of frames free when you bought the first one. No disclaimers at this point. She took my insurance card and checked on my coverage while I looked at frames. I noticed their frames seemed a bit pricey. She came over and said there were some discount available on my insurance. So we picked out two frames (one regular and one sunglass frames) and she then calculated the ‘final’ price after discounts. The total was almost $ 500. I asked why it was so expensive so she described all of the different charges. Longer story short — there were premium add ons to the lenses. I asked her to remove all of the extras and just give me a price without them. The price was about the same. This is when she finally informed me that the ‘second pair free offer’ only applied when you had two premium add ons to the lenses. When I asked her to quote me a price using my old frames, no premium add ons and one pair of sun glass lenses. The total was almost $ 300. I left without making a purchase. I really don’t like when they are not totally honest up front about ‘free’ offers. I thought the sales pitch was a bit deceptive. Not a business I want to support.

My experience began very positively. I was calling around to various eye doctors looking for one who would deal with my specific needs. The receptionist here was the first one in basically the entire county that was knowledgeable about my situation. When there was something she didn’t know she had the doctor herself call me back in under two hours.
After a pleasant and reassuring conversation with the doctor I made myself an appointment for about a week later at which time my good experience continued. I saw (and spoke with on the phone) Dr. Scott. When I was in the office she and her staff were pleasant and worked more efficiently as a team than any eye doctor’s office I had ever been to. Even though I was getting soft contacts for the very first time I was out in less than 60 minutes.
The office is a very spacious and comfortable space in a nice shopping center in Broadview Heights. Perhaps leave a bit of time to get here on time for evening appointments as the one lane road 82 can back up a bit. There is a Keurig coffee machine to use to make your wait more pleasant.

Talk about friendly. From the moment I walked into the door I was greeted with smiles. The place is clean, affordable and offers great service and great products. Unlike some places where you wait forever, I showed up, filled out about 30 seconds worth or paperwork and they were ready for me. Their prices are super affordable too and they offer a large variety of eye wear. OHHH They aren’t going to try to sell you on a product. They will present the facts, offer their suggestions and then let you make the decision. Way better than the last place I went (lenscrafters).
