I stopped here for an oil change on 4÷16÷16. What I assumed was a simple thing to do, turned into a mess. I left here with an oil leak, which was NOT there before I stopped in. Went back 3 times to get it fixed and each time I was given the run around. I was told, «it’s such a small leak, it isn’t a big deal», «you have a cracked gasket and that’s where the leak is coming from». Since I was getting no where with this place I ended up going to Black Bear Auto in Bristol(best auto shop in town). They showed me what they did, and I was shocked. Even snapped a photo for proof. Apparently, they over tightened the drain plug which then stripped the threads so there was nothing to hold the plug, causing the leak. They used a sealer around the plug to stop the leak, which still DIDN’T work! Thankfully, Black Bear fixed it correctly. I went back to Mobile and told them what happened. Was too upset to get the guy’s name, UGH! Anyway, he again tried to give me the runaround even after I showed him the picture. Tried to say it’s common to strip the plug because it’s an aluminum pan and that I already had a prior leak from a cracked gasket. Which was a lie, I did not have a leak. The picture proves the leak only comes from the oil plug. I told him he needs to pay for my repair costs from Black Bear, which he did. The right thing to do here was fix their mistake, the first time! I would of been a repeat customer if all he did was admit his mistake and fix it the right way. I know things can happen, especially at an auto shop. But bad customer service is to lie about it and use a «band-aid» to temporarily fix it. Did they think I would never notice? A leak, is a leak and by far not a good thing, ever! The fact he tried to tell me it wasn’t a big deal, was simply shocking to me. Do right by your customers and they will come back. Lie to them, they will never return and they will post on social media! I am appalled by the service here and I advise anyone to stay away. If they can’t even get a simple oil change done correctly, how will they repair other, bigger problems? Makes me wonder. Go to Black Bear Auto and ask for Barry, best shop in town!
