Very friendly service and delicious food, but the amount of chicken in the fajitas was quite small for the $ 13 price. Other entrees were excellent.

Breakfast is good but not particularly quick. Give yourself plenty of time.

If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. French onion soup is a bowl of super salty beef buollion. Looks good. Tastes like pure salt. Inedible. Fishermens platter: couple different kinds of fish and shrimp battered and left in the fryer for 10 minutes. Once again, inedible. My wife ordered lettuce wraps. Noodles with some pre made chicken thrown in a bowl with a full cup of sauce and then plated with lettuce. Service happened to be great. The sad thing is I remember this place being good a long time ago. NEVERAGAIN!

We stopped here during a road trip just because the kids wanted burgers and Unilocal told us they had them. We were pleasantly surprised! The menu had a lot of unique dishes(the kids loved the burgers and I strongly recommend the apple-cranberry panini) and the wait staff was very nice and made good recommendations – like the chocolate chip cookie dessert.

I was worried that there was nothing healthy on the menu(even the oatmeal was baked with butter), but the waitress allowed me to add spinach to my veggie omelet and substitute egg whites. All was prepared well and service was friendly.

It’s a good place to stop when we’re making the drive from Wisconsin to Illinois. We went here on a Tuesday night and it was pretty much empty. Just a few people there, pretty quiet. We were seated right away, but it took what felt like forever for us to get our food. There was a pretty good variety, but I would have liked to see some more healthy options. I decided to get the avocado burger with a black bean patty, no cheese, and a gluten free bun. I was glad to see there were so many options for a side, not just fries or a salad. I wanted to go the healthy route and ordered fresh vegetables as my side, expecting a small bowl of steamed assorted vegetables. Instead I got a bowl of green beans, the only vegetable I don’t really like, doused in butter. If you are only going to offer one vegetable when the menu says«Fresh vegetables», please let people know! My sister, mom, and I all got different types of black bean burgers and we had mixed reviews. My mom just had a plain one and for some reason it was really spicy for her. My sister got one with cheese, balsamic, and onions on it, and she did not like it at all, made her feel really sick after a couple bites. She said the black bean party with the balsamic was a really gross combination. She liked the French fries a lot though. The dessert menu looked awesome but we were all too full. There were some great deals, kids eat for $ 1 on Tuesdays, and there was a face painter there. He did it just for tips and he can paint pretty much whatever you ask him to and does an excellent job. My sister and I got our arms painted and loved it. Overall, a good place to stop, but just be careful about what you order.

We had a very nice dinner following a day at 6 flags and shopping. Food was very good. I had jambalaya and ate on the left overs for two days. Nice flavor and an unusual presentation with lots of proteins. My 12 years old son got the all you can eat shrimp and told me «they’re going to lose money on me». He put a hurting on very nice grilled shrimp and ate them as fast as we could peel them! I used to go to the Chancery’s when I lived in the Milwaukee area long ago. Wish we had them in St Louis!

My stepdaughter just had a small wedding with the lunchoen at this chancery for 31 people, where every one just ordered off the regular menu. We had a private room and between the staff, waiters, waitresses, and of course the bartender, my daughter had a perfect day. All the food was good, they gave us plenty of space for speeches and gift opening and tended to everyone with s smile. It really looked like they staff was enjoying the festivities too(I hope they helped themselves to a cupcake) Bottom line-everything was perfect and I did call the management and let them know. Whatever you need-I believe they can make it happen

Not bad. Overpriced for what it’s serving, but that’s to be expected of a hotel restaurant. Wide menu variety, not a lot of healthy options.

The best thing about this restro is the location. It’s right off 94 and across the street from the huge outlet mall. Eating places are sparce so this is about as good as it gets. I give it 5 stars for the bloody marys, especially the bacon and egg one. OMG, it’s a meal and a drink… gotta love that. I give it 4 stars for service. We have never had a problem with service and we usually have a fairly large group of kids through senior citizens. For food, I have to go with 3 stars. Their menu is very diverse. Maybe too diverse. Nothing really wows me with flavor or presentation. Maybe I order the wrong things. Last time I had the veggie fajitas. They tasted OK but nothing to rave about. Our daughter had a greek chicken wrap and she couldn’t pick it up to eat. It completely fell apart. We’ll continue to frequent this place because of the location and decent service. I just wish they would amp up the food a bit.

Stopped here for a quick lunch. We sat at the bar where service was great. Food was excellent and the noise levels pretty tame seeing as how football was on. We would stop here again for lunch when shopping at the mall.

Was there for lunch today with hubby. Usually really love chancery but today I ordered the special. Ratatouille quiche. I was really excited to try it. Ten minutes after we order our waiter comes back to tell us they are out. :(Ended up getting a lame salad. Service was good. I just wish they would have said something right away.

We tried this restaurant last weekend en route to the outlet mall. Pleasantly pleased!!! We had the blackened tilapia tacos and the fish and chips. The fish tacos were very good, well prepared and seasoned, overall a very good dish, fabulous mango salsa. The fish and chips were good(I am REALLY picky about my fish and chips). The cod was nice and thick and juicy and the batter was thin. So if you like fish more than batter(some are opposite), this is a really good dish. The cole slaw was lacking, but I had more than enough fish and waffle fries to fill me up and then some. Service was excellent. Our waitress was friendly, prompt and knowledgeable. The dinning room was clean and really pleasant. Going back soon to try their burgers — waitress told us they are excellent. Been jonesin a good burger lately and no where in Gurnee is it to be found.

2 stars for the bar, I can only imagine the restaurant is on par with the other chancerys which I’d rate as a high 3 to 4 but since I haven’t tried out the restaurant here, I have to go with the bar review. They pour weak drinks and the bar smells like the standing water old bars typically have when they don’t clean the wells, eh. Every server I’ve had seems over-extended and unprepared which translates to long waits and incorrect bills. One time the bartender gave me the check and our food wasn’t even on it. I told her and she corrected it as if, «Oh yeah, glad I didn’t charge the people sitting next to you.» Next time I had 4 extra drinks($ 24) on the bill and I had to plead my case as if I was on trial to get her to realize it was her mistake. Glad they did the right thing but they need some more training in there.

I so wanted to give The Chancery more stars but then the bill arrived. Let me explain, I was having dinner with my family. I started out by trying the Bacon and Egg Bloody Mary. It was amazing! Crispy bacon, deviled eggs and a spicey Bloody Mary. The menu said the cost was $ 6.50(because I had a beer chaser). Our food was excellent. I had chicken and herb mashed potatoes with a jalapeño coen bread muffin. All in all, service was good and they didn’t fuss when we had to wait for part of our party to arrive. We ate, we enjoyed and then… the bill arrived. No where on the menu did it mention that different vodkas cost different prices. And the server never once said anything about it either. In fact, when she took our order for our drinks she said, «Do you want Absolut, Grey Goose, or some other vodka?» We all chose Absolut since it was the first she mentioned. But wait, the previous $ 6.50 cost was now listed at something quite higher. Those were«tiered» vodka and if we didn’t want that we should have ordered«rail» vodka, she explained. Well, that would have been good to know before we ordered but ah well… so it goes. I hate to let that bring my rating down but part of me felt a little ripped off by them not being upfront with their pricing. Also, getting to the rest room in this place was a trek! You have to walk through the entire restaurant, out a door into a hallway and down a hall and then you’re actually not in the restaurant anymore but in the hotel next door! Strange that they do not have a more centrally located restroom for just their restaurant customers. The plus side? The Beer Cheese soup with soft pretzel is a great appetizer. And the chicken really was moist and juicy and tasty. If they can pull the other things together this would be a great place.

Good location if you are driving through or going to the outlet mall. Although, it is annoying you have to walk over to the hotel to go to the bathroom(restaurant and hotel are connected though). We sat in the bar. The service was not good. Our waitress was very nice, but she just had too many tables. Beer list was just ok. I mean come on, this is Wisconsin! I think the food has gone downhill since the last time I was here. I used to think it was great, but now it’s just eh. My friend and I both got pitas. Mine had way too much sauce, and it soaked the bread so much you really couldn’t eat it. The fruit cup that came on the side was great. It had really good fruit, not that melon crap. I do have to say the beer and cheese soup is still excellent. It is also served with a warm soft pretzel. I would come back just for that!

Restaurant attached to hotel. Typically not your best option, but in the middle of a snowstorm, it turns into that or McDonald’s. They have a fairly large menu and my server, Matt, was very helpful. I opted for a glass of white wine and started with a house salad which was not iceberg so that is awesome right from the start. I ordered the shrimp pasta with veggies and it was very flavorful. I was pleasantly surprised and it was more than enough food. I didn’t get dessert, but some of the options looked pretty tempting.

This place is pretty good. They have an extensive drink menu and fair prices. This location is in a hotel and right next to the outlet mall. I’d pick going here over the food court any day. I had a very tasty tuna melt. It had a nice amount of ingredients and it was not greasy at all.

So Meh. Really disappointed with my most recent visit. In general I really like Chancery restaurants and almost always get the beer cheese soup with a pretzel when I go. Yesterday my soup bowl came out only partially filled and was full of this chunky, nasty, somewhat cold excuse for their beer cheese soup. Adding to the problem was that our server was nowhere to be found so I couldn’t tell him I was disappointed. I’m really surprised they were even okay with serving that. I would have been embarrassed to put that soup out. Anyway, our waiter wasn’t very attentive even though the restaurant was not even close to full. We had to flag him down for drink refills. If my experience yesterday was my only experience with the Chancery restaurants I’d never come back. However, I have had other good dining experiences at this location and others, so I’ll give this one another shot. However, I hope they start to take a little more pride in their food and service.

Wisconsin doesn’t really have much to offer. The Brewers are good once every 20 years. They have deer and farm land, but that’s not really exciting. That 70’s Show was supposed to be filmed here, but prob. wasn’t. So basically they got nothing. But they do have cheese, delicious fattening cheese. So when in the dairy state you really gotta cheese it up. When I stayed at the hotel, I decided to sample the restaurant and get a taste of the good life. I ordered cheese curds(fried curdled cheese) and 4 cheese mac and chicken. Both were good(not great) but satisfying. The meal was accompanied by several rounds of another Wisconsin staple– Spotted Cow beer! I think I enjoyed the best of Wisconsin that day… and then I got the hell out of there.
