Last week I discovered that one of our three water heaters was leaking and needed replacement. This water heater was installed in 1993, so we got a goo 18+ yrs of service from it. The second of three water heater was not leaking but, we might as well replace it now. Lucky for us, when that water heater was removed — it was rusted out and soon to start leaking.
We replaced both water heaters with 48 gal replacements — about $ 1k each — parts (Rheem), labor, and disposal. Both replaced one plumber 2 ½ hrs on a workday next day service. Awesome — job, I doubt these waters will give me 18 years :(
