This store is near to my place and at a very convenient location. The owner was vary nice and helped me to choose the right bottles for gifts.

This place is super convenient for me BUT so over priced. We actually found out that the beer here is more expensive than the beer at 711. Same brand and everything. Crazyness I say!

Okay selection, great service. Really nice guys. I was looking for some decent local beers but the selection was somewhat slim. The only problem is that it’s a pretty small space so I don’t blame them. Also, the location is super convenient. Good for a quick stop!

I won’t be going here anymore. I tried to stop in last night but was confronted by a very drunk man at the door who was identifying himself as a Boston cop. The man got in my face yelling obscenities and was clearly looking to fight me. I told him I didn’t want a problem and walked back to my car. I called the store to let them know. I figured they would care that someone was literally on their steps starting fights with customers. They hung up on me. They clearly had no concern for the safety of their customers.

I’m angry. I was in the store on Saturday at 8pm, and ended up in line behind two young men and an inebriated customer. The cashier was being very patient with the inebriated guy, though it was definitely going on a bit long and was a bit embarrassing, the customer wasn’t doing anything egregiously wrong and the cashier seemed to be doing his best. As soon as the guy left, though, both cashiers on duty started to crack up and make fun of the guy, as the two other customers joined in. It was APPALLING, and mean, and done for no reason. The employees knew it was wrong, too, because the man came back in, confused over something, and they immediately stopped. You work in a liquor store, and yet you act like you’ve never seen a drunk guy before? I don’t care if the other customers are laughing, it was incredibly rude, unprofessional, and showed no compassion at all. The employees did nothing to help this guy keep his dignity, nor did they seem to take an interested in the fact he was clearly about to go and continue drinking, in public, despite being nearly incomprehensible(the nature of his questions had made that clear). I will NEVER come back here, I was horrified and nearing tears by the time I left. I wasn’t able to look the cashier in the eye, and that’s why I’m writing this review.

Solid selection of beers and wines. Very friendly, helpful staff. Beer is a little more expensive then a large chain store but the liquor prices are average. Living a block away I tend to stop in frequently.

2 for $ 15 wine deals. ‘Nuff said. I like that although I’m only here once maybe every other week, the people always recognize me, say hi and ask how life is. They have also expanded their selection of Australian wines lately, and for that I am eternally grateful.

People that run the place are great. The prices are a little on the high side.

This is certainly your neighborhood corner liquor store. Small shop with a pretty decent beer selection. I’m really into beer so I tend to frequent Martingetti’s because of the larger selection, but Oak Square Liquors has never disappointed me. The nice gentleman behind the register even helped me with a sub shop recommendation. Nice place.

I used to live two doors down from OS Liquors. Friendly staff and decent wine choices. It was especially nice to be able to keep our beers cold in the snow banks as we tried to shovel our cars out of the Breck Ave snowdrifts, thank you for being so convenient!

Dear beloved older Greek fellow, Thank you for taking time out of your not-so-busy life to operate this neighborhood liquor store at the end of my street. I know you aren’t so busy due to your almost daily remarks about my frequent trips past your store to Dunkin Donuts, but they are friendly and one day I swear I will actually buy you a coffee like you joke about… just keep bugging me! My whole self, perhaps minus my liver, owes you big time for the many nights I’ve realized I don’t have anything to bring to a house party or when my own party starts running dry. I know we had a discussion about how you don’t have kegs and I truly accept your apology — I do appreciate the suggestions from your faithful register operator of where else in Brighton I might find the most reasonably priced beer by the kilo! That guy knows his stuff — he should create his own real-life Beerfest… would you suggest it to him for me? I wouldn’t want to overstep my bounds. Since I’m not usually having a party, I also should acknowledge your good selection of beers and wines. But as I’ve mentioned to you before, you may want to work on the hard liquor supply — and while you’re at it, maybe the prices a little too — they’re a little steep on the nicer beers I’d like to try. Oh, and maybe do something about that trick step that I’ve now almost fallen down several times, once into the arms of the beer delivery man unloading his truck… cause that wasn’t awkward or anything. All My Love, Diane D.

This place was right around the corner from both of the apartments I lived in Oak Square. Definitely frequented it. I usually opted for wine or the hard stuff. But my boyfriend has to try every beer ever invented and he always found a new one or a new six pack to try. They are really nice and also carry assorted little groceries, chips, and mixers. Pretty good prices too, definitely cheaper than where I live now!

This place is great-certainly no frills-but great. They have a decent selection of affordable wines, perfect to pick up for dinner drinkin’ on a weeknight as I make my way home from work. The guys who work the checkout(owners?) remember you after you’ve been in once, and are helpful. They always say hello when you walk in the door, which is rare around these parts…
