Food was absolutely excellent atmosphere with candlelight and soft music perfect evening topped off with the ability to bring your own favorite beer or wine. Best crab cakes pure lump crabmeat Duck was also unbelievable. Service great also Best all-around dining experience I have had in a long time. And I eat out a lot I would highly recommend it to anyone By the way this was middle of February 2016 inside dining I saw some reviews that were not saying what I’m saying but that must’ve been when they just opened perhaps I can only tell you from my experience they certainly have it all together now

Everyone enjoyed their meal. The portions are not big, they’re just right. I loved the gluten free crab cakes and the boardwalk fries. I also enjoyed the raspberry sorbet. My nan loved the apple crisp. This place is more upscale than I thought. I’m excited to check out the new patio area this summer.

Decided to go back on Labor Day weekend, was pleasantly surprised by an improvement in the food and great service. The food is nothing special, but decently executed. The restaurant’s location is a solid five, the food is a three –so there you have it, four stars. We will be going back and I’ll update this further.

Great renovation, that’s the good news. Food was mediocre and service was awful, the kid could not have been more clueless. Glad the owner has deep pockets, he will need it to keep this place alive!

Got there at 7 was told kitchen was backed up at least 2 hours. We sat at bar, ordered apps that took approx 40 min to come. Then ordered dinner, salad came with chicken not shrimp as requested. Flank steak was cold and tough. The owner of this place really needs to figure out his kitchen. Before we left barmaid told us that there was a party of 100 that just came in at 6. This place has still not proved consistent.

Go here for the drinks and the ambiance. Great view at the new bar and patio. If you are looking for a snack, the fried calamari was one of the better I’ve had in the area and the watermelon salad was tasty. In general though, the menu is lacking and for the price, I wouldn’t consider it a dinner option.

3.7 stars Good food, inconsistent service and pricey. Food: Mussels — OK, Bacon — Very good, Blue cheese dressing — OK, Pork Chop — Great. Price: A little pricey, especially the small portions on the appys. Service: Very friendly, made a few mistakes but gracious about correcting. Atmosphere: Upscale inside, casual and energetic outside. Drinks: Full bar. I wouldn’t make a special trip, but if I am in the area I might return.

Really bad, everything we ordered was just bad. Burger was raw and on a stale bun, calamari was tough, buffalo wrap was one tiny piece of chicken and all lettuce, and worst of all my $ 13 margarita it was just all sour mix. I liked this place last time I was there a few years ago, but it was awful this time.

Apparently, the locals go here«to be seen». It’s expensive, right down to the drinks … calimar was decent and the grouper sandwich was actually pretty good.

Love love love the food Chef Andy was so accommodating for specialty item! Made a basic wedge salad into a scungilli slice of heaven! Great atmosphere Band a little loud for the space but all in all a great Sunday afternoon spot for locals and vacationers. Neighbors need to get used to it just like anything else. This is nice for fall too. Outside tvs in September. For football will be great.

Worst. Meal. Ever. Drinks were lousy as well. My margarita was obviously from a mix, and my wife’s red wine tasted like hot tea, as the bottle was clearly kept in the sun. A very accommodating place, but yeesh, they desperately need a food upgrade. I wish I sat outside and brought my own food, or ordered a pizza. Anything would have been better. I saw an infant eating some crackers and baby jar food and was extremely jealous. At least they aren’t pretentious douchebags like The Poached Pear in Point Pleasant, who act like they are located on 5th Avenue, NYC, but are across from the Dollar General Store.

Ohhhh boy … I love this place for the cocktail atmosphere .last night we tried dinner… mistake. Four Adults, Five Children… placed order @6:30 …dinner arrived 8:15pm. When it did finally arrive, it was terrible. Food looked like it was sitting under heat lights for 45 mins. and tasted the same. Waitress was very pleasant … And busboy was phenomenal. We renamed him the«The Dishanator« if you are going to pay those prices, go to Shipwreck …

Let’s face it, the food at the UL wasn’t great for anything more complicated than some apps or raw bar. But what was great was the atmosphere and the crowd. On the other hand, Waypoint 622 is like the new Yankee stadium– sterile, cold, and mediocre. The new porch does offer a broader view of the water but at the expense of the feeling of warmth and coziness. Am I in Fort Lauderdale? This place has lost it’s charm and has absolutely no character. I ordered the grouper sandwich which was bland. It was also fried a bit too long and the big roll it was served on was too much bread for the fish. We also had an overcooked burger. Overall, the menu is limited and basic. Our server was moderately polite but inefficient and we had to hunt her down for menus, drinks, the bill, etc. It seems like the majority of positive reviews are from people from NY or North Jersey(and a few seem suspiciously like shills from friends of the owner). Basically, if you’re not from Monmouth county and aren’t used to the local scene, you are probably more likely to be a fan. If that’s what they had in mind, I guess they win. Hopefully for them they can keep it up in winter.

Great new renovated resteraunt in Brielle. We arrived around 5:30 on a Sunday and were seated within 20 minutes. It was busy with a much longer wait when we left. My wife and daughter had the steamed lobster dinner. A little pricey at $ 39 but includes salad, potatoes and vegetable. Lobsters were cooked perfectly and seemed larger than the 1.5 pounds listed. The linguini and clams in white sauce was outstanding: fresh clams and perfect balance of garlic and clam juice. My other daughter had the roast clam appetizer which was very good. Great atmosphere, service was very good, nice bar on a large deck overlooking the marina and a guitar player. We’ll be back.

Was a guest of party of 18 this past week… 12 adults 6 young adults kids and they put is in the wine room. which is a separate room front of the restaurant. Place has main dining room as well that overlooks the deck and Marina and of course the outside bar and deck that overlooks the Marina as well. Very nice modern layout very busy and I was curious to see how they would handle a party this size. Was a present menu with Salad choice of 5 Appetizers, choice of 5 entrees and choice of 3 deserts… Rebecca was our server and she was outstanding all night considering who she was dealing with. Started off with cocktails no bottles and their house wines were not only nicely priced $ 7.00 per glass but good as well… Salads presented with house Balsamic with optional Ranch or Blue Cheese dressings as well. Salads were cold, plentiful and fresh very tasty. Appetizers… These were INDIVIDUALORDER and they were more for like 2⁄3 persons in some cases. Fried Calamari was fresh crisp not fishy and dipping sauce adequate. Fresh Lump Crab Meat Cocktail was seriously off the planet good… A little extra horseradish was needed which they brought for the cocktail sauce which put it over the top. The Fresh Bacon fried with some sort of sauce was simply OK… The Carpaccio was fresh and delicious Entrees: Sesame covered and grilled Salmon was very tasty and the sauce was a nice touch. Filet Migon’s with homemade mashed potatoes and vegetables were all good nobody figured out who had ordered what temparture of the steaks so you may have ordered Med but got rare etc. this was the only screw up of the evening. The Stuffed 1 ½ lb lobster with bread crumb was some confusion as some thought it was steamed but it was baked… very good even if there was a mix up. Pasta with fresh marinara sauce with shellfish was excellent. Chicken breast with sauce and mushrooms was OK… Deserts: Brownie with Ice Cream 5 star Rasberry Sorbet Excellent Apple Pie ala Mode excellent. All and all aside from the screw up with wrong steaks being given to each customer this meal was really outstanding and great for party of our size. I would recommend highly and love to try the rest of menu next time.

Place is the perfect shore hang. Terrific new outdoor deck on the marina. Great music and really great food. Tuna tartare, crab cake are both awesome but if you go, definitely do the sliced steak sandwich — amazing. A great time every time.(provided that one dickhead down the road doesn’t call the cops)

I really wanted this place to be good. If you loved UL, you will HATE this place. UL was a local gem and this place is nothing but a tourist trap. Raw bar gone. Charm gone. Scallop tacos gone. The bands are the same but the play lists have been candied for the masses, I assume at management request. No televisions. They made this bar so big and impersonal. Seems like the owners are trying to make money off of volume vs quality. Its such a disappointment. AND the worst part of UL they kept unchanged, the bathrooms! Ugh, ill be reluctantly bike riding my local butt over to river house from now on. So sad. Two stars for the view.

Okay, this place is brand-new, and has problems from the start. A very sterile environment– corrugated metal roof with nails coming through it, white wood columns, marble bar, no intimacy or uniqueness at all! The servers were aloof, and not very attentive. The conch chowder was cold, the wings were very good, the grouper sandwich was small and served on a tasteless roll. There are great big columns, with no speakers on them, music coming out of the back corner of the deck. And the bill was expensive for all that mediocrity. Well, the view is fantastic, that but that won’t save the day. In the restaurant outdoor deck is now set up to accommodate handicapped persons, which is a strong plus. At least the old UL Landing had a nice buzz to it, good food, drinks and a good value for what it was. This is coming from a Local.

I went here last night with a friend for dinner. Outdoor space is gorgeous. We were impressed upon arrival. But, unfortunately, The raves stop there. The food is at the same level as a poolside bar. We were expecting an upscale menu due to the renovation and its location wedged in between Shipwreck Grill and River House. First, the service. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. However, the bar made me a half full cocktail, which our waiter complained to the bartender about and she made a comment about how I received the«serving size». Yet my friend ordered a cocktail and it was full to the brim. We had no plates(bread), napkins or silverware until after our meal was served. And we had to ASK for those items. On that note, the napkins, silverware and condiments come out in a caddy… see my poolside bar reference above. Second, the food. I was looking forward to the food as I read an article in the Asbury Park Press with the chef touting«fresh fish and game» with selections like striped bass with saffron basil broth and coffee seared venison loin. None of those selections are at this restaurant. Not even close. Neither the indoor or outdoor menus features entrees on that level. The outdoor menu is limited to wraps, sandwiches and salads. Nothing creative here. We are talking grilled cheese, chicken Caesar wrap, burger. The only«fresh fish» offering is a beer battered grouper sandwich and tuna tartare. No shrimp cocktail. No raw bar selections. No sautéed fish. Yet, I am eating at the Jersey Shore on the Manasquan River. Makes no sense. I ordered the Hoffman Burger, which had short rib on top of the burger… most creative item on the menu. I thought I would give it a go. It was just o.k. No taste. Burger was dry. Meanwhile, its neighbor, The River House is serving sushi and pastas in a similar outdoor setting. Shipwreck Grill is on a whole other level with fresh fish and steak. I had a better meal at Sand Bar in years past. I cannot determine the mission of this place. It does not seem to know its identity yet. It’s beautifully decorated and deserving of an upscale menu, yet the simple menu is not even on par with local pubs. Get your act together. The beauty of the outdoor bar will not help you survive October through April… and locals like myself are already done and saving our next night out for one of the aforementioned restaurants. I was prewarned by others before I visited… I should have heeded their advice. Go for a cocktail. Go somewhere else for dinner.

Well… Apparently I am writing the first Unilocal review. I was hoping to come with a 5 star review but that will have to wait for another night. The patio is seat yourself and wait for the next table which was not an issue tonight although I can see it being a hassle during the summer. The patio bar looks great, and the view from the deck overlooking the Manasquan River is beautiful and a major upgrade from the porch of the UL. I was surprised by the menu as there were not a lot of nosh type appetizers and there were only a handful of entrees although they looked good. The menu was not kid friendly at all, although there was good assortment of beers on tap. The waitress took our drink order quickly, unfortunately it took a very long time for it to get to the table. The bacon appetizer was average at best. It surprisingly lacked flavor which is hard to do with bacon. For the entrees, I had the linguine with white clam sauce which had great flavor although portion size was on the smaller side. My wife’s wedge salad came out ay the same time but without the grilled shrimp. They took her dish back to the kitchen and it came back close to 10 minutes later. To put it in perspective I was almost finished with my pasta dish. My second beer took a while to get as well which I couldn’t figure out why as it was not even close to being a full house. Our waitress was apologetic throughout our stay as she was clearly frustrated with the bar and kitchen. The couple behind us were having similar issues as we were commiserating with each other. With all that being said, I realize it was their fourth night being open and there are always issues when opening a new restaurant. I will definitely be back to give it another shot, probably again without the kids.
