Crispi’s is a modest neighborhood Italian restaurant. You can have a great meal if you order traditional Italian-American food. Some dishes — arrancini, eggplant rollatini(consistently the best dish on the menu), pasta siciliano, mussels in white wine or marinara, steaks and chops — can really be excellent. When the kitchen is having an off night(which is rare, and I eat here about once a month) even reliable dishes can disappoint. But the prices are very reasonable, service is warm if occasionally a little pokey, and the cocktails are fantastic — generous and expertly prepared. For a comfortable, cozy night out when you don’t want to drive too far but want a good drink and a satisfying meal, a booth at Crispi’s is perfect.

Sliding in the wrong direction. This used to be one of my favorite local restaurants. The last 3 or 4 times I’ve been I wasn’t thrilled. It seems like portions may be getting smaller and the quality wasn’t what I’ve come to expect.

Can’t say I’m a fan of this place. Only had one meal, but it was pretty poor. My experience was similar to those that I’m seeing a lot here. The group I was with waited a long time when there were several vacant tables. And my meal just wasn’t that good. I ordered a meal with some kind of demi-glacé and it just tasted gooey and way too sweet. I’m really not that picky and tend to like everything, can’t say I liked this. I just don’t get the appeal of this place. Probably helps that Bridgewater has so few restaurants.

04/30/2015: Returned to Crispi’s for the second time in April because we like our newly discovered dinning gem. I enjoyed the Chicken Piccata and my bride really loved the Chicken Saltimbocca. Portions sizes was ample. The wait staff deserves recognition for being so nice and accommodating. We ordered one dish by mistake and they saw our look. They wanted to be sure we were pleased and like Ma Ma, they went back to the kitchen … returning with what we were looking forward to. This was most generous and kind deed. I don’t think you can have a bad meal here. It is a family type setting. Does not offer the glitz of a downtown Boston restaurant. It works for us and the food prices are reasonable.

Terrible service the moment we entered. We’d made a reservation for 7pm on a Saturday, the group arrived and we were told we’d have to wait. We moved to the bar and stood, every 5 – 10 minutes we asked the very unhappy, rude hostess when she thought we’d be seated, she was irritated and short with us, I finally asked to speak to the owner, then she offered to sit us at a table for 4 with a chair at the end next to the live music which was to begin at 8:30. We took the table with assurance that when another large table opened we could move. When the table opened the asked if they should set it or would be bring over our our silverware and drinks, which we did. This restaurant was very loud, not the live music but the talking. The food was fine, nothing special. Our waitress was lovely but we still felt the burn from the initial lack of compassion at the obvious mixup. Also, the owner was there, I would’ve thought she would come to our table to apologize but she never did. We insisted on a free round of drinks which we did get. I won’t eat here again, it’s also next to train tracks and the whole place shakes when the commuter rail goes by. Parking is in a dirt parking lot which was mud, luckily none of us were in heels.

There are so many bad reviews and too many other choices in New England to risk taking a chance… even with a Living Social Deal… Sorry Crispi!

We’ve always had amazing meals with fantastic service! Every out of town guest who we bring there is immediately asking for a return trip to Crispi’s!

I appreciate that the owners sent me a gift certificate for the meal that I didn’t like last time. We used it to give it another try. I’m sorry, but I can’t go back here again. We were seated where I could see right into the kitchen and that is not a good thing for me. I felt that the place looks dumpy and dirty. Our server looked worn out and unkept. My pasta dish was okay, but I couldn’t get beyond the dumpy environment. This is constructive criticism, do some remodeling and clean the place up. Your servers need to tie their hair back too.

First time here and we will definitely be back! Our server was«eddy» … She was fantastic! We had the anti pasto, crispini and veal saltimbocca. Very plentiful! The saltimbocca was different from what we are accustomed too but very good And fiing!

Well here is my review… This is the second time that this has happened to my girlfriend and I. We stopped in here for a late dinner one time driving back from Hartford conn. When we were both friggin starving and another time flying back from California when we were both frickin starving. The hosted told up that we had a 15 minute wait when there was like 5 tables vacant. With a stupid blank frigin stare on her boring face with no explanation. Now I’am really f-in pissed off. So after drinking two glasses of wine waiting to get some grub the bartender tells me that the owner crispy is too f-in cheap to hire a third waitress to handle the customers… This is a bunch of bull. I could have worked this place by myself. The staff there move so slow that if they move any slower they would be in reverse. All I can say is I will not return and I will be dinning at porticellos in easton from now on.

We ate here a few years ago and it was so awful, we never went back-despite the fact we live in the same town! I read some recent reviews and it still seems the same. The meal I ordered was covered in liquid and was nasty. When I complained to the server, they said they could remake it, but it would look and taste the same. I said I didn’t want it, and they charged us full price anyways. Recently, the finished a renovation, and I still won’t go back. Wish this place would close.

I was shocked to see how low a rating Crispi’s restaurant received. I live in the North End of Boston but prefer going here for Italian food. I have never had anything but wonderful service with wonderful food. You can’t go wrong with the Gnocchi or Chicken Parmesan. The inside use to be a bit run down but with recent renovations the atmosphere has really improved. I’d recommend giving Crispi’s another shot!

Had dinner for two on Saturday evening. I must say that this is a great little Italian restaurant for a reasonable amount of money. Chocolate Martini is one of the best I ever had and Veal Parm was great. Highly recommend.

Some pretty frustrating issues with our server this past weekend: –Our server was an older woman who couldn’t hear a thing. Everyone in my party had to repeat their order several times and she couldn’t hear some special requests that we asked for(e.g. lemon with a beverage — had to go up to the bar and get them myself). We felt ridiculous having to pretty much yell at the server for her to hear our orders. –We didn’t have a single water glass refilled during the whole meal even after we asked, glasses sat empty. –Plates seemed to be too heavy for our server, she nearly dropped a pasta dish in my mother’s lap, pasta went sliding off the plate and it slammed/silverware dropped on the floor. Fortunately, everyone in my party enjoyed the quality of the food itself and were happy to take home some leftovers. It was unfortunate that we had sub-par service and if we go back we’ll definitely be asking for a different server

I went here for Valentines day. It is right down the street but slightly expensive for someone who never finishes their plate! I have always wanted to go, so I was excited to hear we had a reservation! It was very busy and our reservation was never written down according to the hostess. We waited at the bar and the owner was working it. She was sweet and knew most of her customers. We waited about 45 minutes until we were seated. The bread was brought out it was delicious! We ordered Kobe meatballs which were amazing. My meal was delicious!!! The waitress was sweet and apologetic for our wait! Overall I was impressed and will certainly go when it is not so busy!

I am very surprised to read some of the low ratings. I am sorry others had a bad experience because I have had nothing but great meals and service. My boyfriend and I dine in the north end a lot and both being raised in Italian families we have a tendency to be tough critics with Italian restaurants and I have to say Crispis is fantastic and at a reasonable price. For those who did not have a good dining experience I would recommend giving it another try.

I have been coming to Crispi’s fairly regularly for the past year or so and have never been disappointed. All of the food has been fresh and delicious and the staff are very friendly. It can get very busy on the weekends so I would recommend making a reservation. Sometimes it can take a little while for the food to come out but I rarely mind because the food is worth the wait. The staff does not make you feel rushed at all and in fact, our waitress last night was so very nice it was like she was part of our group. I have tried many things on the menu but I typically order their homemade gnocchi with whichever sauce suits me that night. If you haven’t tried Crispi’s lately, give them a shot. Delicious!

Arrived for an early dinner right at 5pm — opening time. We were the first guests and seated by a very pleasant and helpful waitress. Asked for dinner suggestions and house specialties and ordered right away. She apologized that the ovens were just warming up and the fresh baked bread would be out shortly. What bread! Hot, fresh and delicious! Entrees arrived steaming — Chicken Saltimbocca for myself and Crispino for my wife. Both were very tasty and generous servings. Plenty of mushrooms in both dishes and served with a good amount of sauce. The chicken in the Saltimbocca was a bit odd — 4 small, different-sized pieces and a bit grizzly. Not the 2 nice proportioned filets like you would expect. Service was excellent and the prices were just right. Plenty of good, tasty food for the money. Definitely worth the trip.

I wanted to like this little place. I ordered the Roma chicken which was supposed to be a chicken breast with tomatoes and mushrooms with garlic butter. I asked for them to omit the mushrooms. They gave me lots of tomatoes instead. The fresh mozzarella on the dish was good, but that’s where the good ended. There was not really any sauce of any kind, and there certainly wasn’t any hint of garlic anywhere near my chicken, nor any butter. The chicken was moist, but it wasn’t at all as described in the menu. The pasta with marinara sauce that they served was meh. I didn’t care for the red sauce. The bread served at the table was very good. While I got a good sized portion, it wasn’t what I wanted. I would give this place another try, but I probably wont rush back.
