I had a great first manicure experience at Onyx. Keri was wonderful in her attention to detail and I love how my nails turned out. They had a great selection of gel colors and glitter for nail art. I will definitely return for another manicure.

Went here because of all the positive reviews and the silver ombré french gel pic. I wanted something similar to that but with gold glitter and they did not disappoint. They were very friendly and took their time with my nails to make them look exactly as I described.
Also very affordable for such attention to detail. I think my shellac nails came to around $ 40! They still look good — 2 weeks later! Highly recommend.

This place has been here for 11 years, and I had no idea. It’s tucked in an older shopping center in Bridgeville, but that allows it to have a private parking lot and quiet ambience. I’d like to label this place as a boutique salon.
I made an appointment for a mani/​pedi and was pleasantly surprised that they could give me an appointment for that day.
The chairs for the pedicure weren’t your typical massage chairs that rarely work; instead, there are two high back arm chairs and heatable foot baths.
The technician and owner were so nice to talk to, and my toes and fingers were wonderfully pampered the whole time. The polish they use is Vinylux-​very high quality.
I will definitely be returning.

This review is long overdue. Ida and Carrie are my favorite in the world. They are both very skilled and make you feel so good about yourself. My nails always look amazing when I leave their salon. Ida is also super good at eyebrows. The salon is very cute and girly. Not your typical nail salon experience. It’s MUCH BETTER and the price is right too! I moved farther away and haven’t been back in a while. I also stopped getting my nails done. However– the next time I need a mani pedi I will definitely be back! I miss you Ida and Carrie!

My daughter and I came in for a mani/​pedi on a Saturday and had a wonderful experience. One important thing to note is that this is a two lady operation. The downside is no walk-​ins and no big parties. The upside is that it is small and cozy, never crowded, and you get excellent attention. My pedicure was awesome — thorough without feeling like my feet were being tortured, and a great job on the polish. My daughters nails looked amazing. We were offered tea, coffee, or wine, and told to stay as long as we liked, which was nice. We will definitely be back.

Just had my nails done and love this cute little shop in Bridgeville. Kerri and Ida have a great little business. They made me feel so comfortable and welcomed! My nails are gorgeous! Thanks!!!

Onyx is the best Salon in Pittsburgh hands down. They are one of the few (if not only) salons that have Vinylux. Ida and Keri are so down to earth and welcoming they make you feel right at home!

I googled vinylux and honestly, this was one of the only places in Pittsburgh that showed up. Not privy to vinyl luxe? It’s a new kind of polish that’s supposed to last longer. Not as long as gel, but longer than your regular run of the mill polishes.
I bought a package mani and pedi for $ 40. I guess regularly they’re around $ 30ish each (don’t quote me, my mind is fuzzy from what she told me). While I could tell the vinyl luxe lasts longer than a normal polish, I honestly think my nails are just too crappy to hold the polish. It started chipping after a couple days. Not that I think it was the salons fault, it’s 100% my nails fault! So if you have nails that peel and are fine, I’d just suggest trying out the gel. I may do that next time.
Ida, the owner is INCREDIBLY nice! I really can’t say enough good things. It’s easy to chat with her while you’re getting pampered with a mani in cushy chairs that remind you of a queens throne. Plus, I told her about how crappy my nails are, and she suggested a vitamin that I can purchase.
Clean and professional, plus a couple hours of pampering and I’d say it’s a win!

What a great nail salon! I bought a Livingsocial deal, which is how I found this salon. There were great comfy chairs for the pedicure area! The ladies were very friendly and we chatted the whole time I was there. I noticed how clean the salon was! Very impressive! They seem to change their nail colors out frequently which is also impressive. They don’t have the typical wall of colors from years ago, everything seems very current! The Shellac manicure I received was great. She suggested a nail color that I had never used and I love it! My cuticles look great. I will definitely be going back!

Onyx for Nails is FANTASTIC! It is a hidden gem in Bridgeville. Not only have I received the best shellac ever-​that lasted weeks– the shop owner, Ida is a wonderful wonderful person. Keri is also beyond fabulous! I have also received pedis, waxes, and facials at the salon!
Oh… And did I mention that I get a nice glass of vino while I am getting pampered!!! Delishhhh. Onyx is the place to go for all ladies to leave feeling beautiful and indulged!

Onyx for Nails, B&S is a little salon that is a friendly, relaxing place. It is CLEAN, Clean, Clean and doesn’t reek of the usual nail product odors. I like it a LOT. Have used their services for waxing, mani and pedi. Ida and Carrie are most accommodating, to their clients. You never feel rushed or in the way should you meet up with a friend and extend your chatting. Two days a week they offer evening hours and I think their rates are comparable to other salons. They have a menu of fees on their website. If you don’t like to feel you are in a crowed smelling salon in an assembly line atmosphere then Onyx may be the place for you.

Horrible, I came with a living social deal and they didn’t even know how to redeem the voucher and said that I would have to come back once they called Living Social. They seemed very unprofessional, they chewed their gum like cows and screamed to each other across the salon. My suggestions? Learn how to use living social before you put offers up!

I have been going to Onyx Salon for the past seven years and would never consider going anywhere else. At Onyx Salon, you are more than just a client, you are a valued friend. I always feel like I am receiving the red carpet treatment. Ida and Keri are incredibly talented, friendly, welcoming and professional. They truly are the best in the business. The salon is extremely clean and beautifully decorated. Ida has created a calm, soothing and relaxing environment, a much needed escape from our every day busy lives. After one visit to Onyx Salon and meeting Ida and Keri, you will anxiously await your next appointment. These ladies are one of a kind!
